Summer Folio Mini Travel Album

Hello friends! I was asked to be a guest designer for the Scrapbookingstore which is a very affordable scrapbooking kit club.

When I saw the July Kit, I immediately knew that I wanted to create a summer mini album folio that includes a pocket, waterfall, tags and journaling cards.

My daughter went to Texas two weeks ago for her summer vacation so I created this little book for her to add 15 photos and some little notes from her trip.

The kit includes some cute patterned papers from Echo Park's Summer Fun Collection and also the sticker sheet from the same collection as well as some chipboard embellishments and journal cards from American Crafts.

I made the front cover, back cover and spine from some medium weight chipboard and covered it with patterned papers from the kit.

I added a pocket on the inside cover and created some journaling cards and tags and added a ton of stickers and embellishments from the kit. In fact I actually used the entire sticker sheet to embellish the mini book. On the inside cover on the right hand side, I added a waterfall created with cardstock, patterned papers from the kit, and stickers. There is room to place fifteen photos.

I decorated the outside covers with plenty of stickers as well.  The title "summer" was created with stickers from the kit and I drew around the edges of the title with a fine black felt marker and a ruler to make it stand out more.

I added some alphabet stickers on the spine of the book as well and also added some black and white baker's twine and some black enamel dots from my stash to add some texture and dimension.

Recently I purchased a We R Memory Keepers Tag Maker and put it to use by altering the journal cards from the kit to create tags and then I punched a hole and tied some baker's twine. I added a lot of stickers to these too.

The paper waterfall was created with cardstock as a base and the patterned papers from the kit. Again I added some stickers to the bottom of each photo mat.

I love making mini books and I was happy to give it as a gift to my daughter so that she can document her memories this summer.

I still had plenty of leftovers from the kit to create some cards.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you check out the Scrapbookingstore. They have a new kit each month starting at $14.99 which is really affordable for a scrapbook kit club. One of the lowest priced kits in the industry.

60th Anniversary Mini Album

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great day so far. It's very smoky where I live because of several forest fires burning in my area so it's a good excuse to stay indoors and do some papercrafting and blogging.

I am really excited to share an interactive mini album that I created for my parents. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July and I wanted to give them something special that I put my heart and soul into so I decided to create this mini album for their anniversary gift.

My three children and their spouses, my husband and parents got together and celebrated the very special occasion. It also was awesome because my parents were especially happy to meet their very first great grandchild that was only a few days old. I was able to take several photos so I will add those later as well as some my parents would like to add of their dating years, engagement, wedding day, and other special occasions.

This is a very photo heavy blog post and I put a lot of time into this interactive mini album. It's probably my biggest project to date but I wanted it to be very special. I couldn't tell you how many pieces of heavy teal cardstock I used to create this album. It was a lot! I made the book completely from scratch. The book is made from medium weight chipboard that I covered with design papers.

I wanted to give credit to Rosa Kelly for her tutorial that I followed. I adore her creations. I wanted to make the album my own so I printed the design papers on my Epson 4750 home printer on Epson Presentation Matte Paper. The collection I used for this album is the Abigail Collection from Nitwit Collections. When I first saw this collection I was in love! The teal and pink colors are some of my favorite color combinations. I wanted to create a somewhat romantic, vintage, shabby chic, Parisian  feel. I thought it was perfect for a 60th wedding anniversary. My style is usually more trendy, but it was awesome to try something different.

Here are the pages. I believe there is approximately enough space for 80 photos.  I haven't decided what paper I will mat the photos with, but it will probably be more of the teal cardstock.
