Hello friends! I hope you are staying warm. It's very cold here these days and when it's like this I like to hunker down in my studio and scrapbook. Not very often I have the time to play along with some challenges as my design team assignments keep me very busy but I was inspired so much by this sketch by Amy Coose for the Paper Issues Sketchy Saturday Challenge that I had to play along.
I love to add some Missy Whidden style watercolors to my layouts so I used some grey, lime green and aqua watercolors and the packaging technique for my background.
I used some random alpha stickers from various collections of Bella Blvd. as well as some wood veneer trees that have been in my stash forever. The papers are from the Winter and also the Christmas Collection by Lawn Fawn. I am really digging plaid this year and can't get enough of it.
To finish off my layout I added some machine stitching, thread, alpha stickers from Jillibean Soup as well as a felt bow from Bella Blvd. and of course some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.
It was so much fun to create just for the fun of it.

Hello friends! Happy New Year! Today I am sharing my very first layout for 2017 for both Just Nick Digital Cut Files using the Word 3 cut files for my title
Here is the layout I created of my son and my puppy Syd.
For this layout, I wanted to document when my family added Syd, a male Golden Retriever puppy to our home. My son is holding him for the car ride home. Syd was a ball of fluff. I love these candid photos of my son. He is not cooperative about getting photos taken so I was so happy to capture these.
The words "wonderful" and "memories" from the Word 3 cut file set are both cut out with my Silhouette Cameo and some paper from the Doodlebug Designs Puppy Love Collection.
The flair button "woof" was placed where the three photos meet to direct the eye around the photos.
Cut files and flair, my two favorite things in scrapbooking other than paper.

Hello friends! It's only a week until Christmas can you believe it?
I have recently created a You Tube Channel to share some of my scrapbooking process videos. Today I am sharing how I created this Christmas layout of my son opening his stocking on Christmas morning. I don't want to bore you, so I edited it to be a video of approximately seven minutes in length. It is my first attempt of sharing my process and since I am a very shy person, this is a huge deal for me. It is totally out of my comfort zone but stepping out of one's comfort zone is a good thing right? I'm sure I would qualify for the "introvert of the year" award, but it was time to face my fears and just do it. It's been a goal I have had for two years so I am feeling somewhat accomplished.
Getting back to my layout, I created this with the December Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook and a sketch from My Creative Sketches. If you aren't familiar with My Creative Sketches, you don't know what your are missing! Every month there is a new sketch and it usually is revealed on the 16th of each month and you have until the 14th of the following month to create a layout with the assigned sketch and link it up at My Creative Sketches.
