Scrap Our Stash - August Sketch

Hello friends!  Today is my day to reveal my layout for Scrap Our Stash that I created from the fabulous sketch by our own talented Brenda Ragsdale!  I just love her sketches and find them easy and fun to work with.

 The sketch also had a little challenge to create a layout with a twist to include a game piece from our stash so I used a bingo card embellishment and cut a spinner with my Cameo.  I recently purchased the new collection "Well Played" by Carta Bella and it worked perfect for this layout of my family playing Scattergories.  I also love flair buttons and have a little addiction with them as well as wood veneer shapes.  Here are some photos:

I am honoured and excited to share my layout that was published in the 2013 Fall Issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

My layout is on page 136 which will be in newstands all across Canada September 1.

For this layout I created from a sketch for design team work at Scrapbook Challenges.  I love sunflowers.  This particular layout I created with the Sugar Hill Collection by Farmhouse Paper Company. My Silhouette Cameo was used to cut the wheat behind the title and also the border at the bottom of the layout.  The background was created using a scoring board and some walnut stain that I spritzed all over the white card stock.

Since this past weekend was Father's Day here in Canada, I wanted to do a masculine layout of my husband and son.

I loved creating this layout because I used the Farmhouse Paper Company's Market Square "Barbershop Collection" and it is perfect for masculine layouts.  I love all the little embellishments that come with it.

Scrap It With A Song - Cruise By Florida Georgia Line & Nelly

Today at Scrap It With A Song, the Rock Chicks are rocking to the tune of Cruise by Florida Georgia Line & Nelly.

My layout for this song is of my hubby's Camaro.  My husband and I go cruising almost every day in the summer on our days off.  I chose the Farmhouse Paper Company Market Square Barber Shop Collection for this collection.  I also used some stencils and modeling paste for the arrows and the circular design below the photo.  The sketch is from Kristine Davidson's Sketchbook Volume 2.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout to the tune "Cruise".  It can be the title of the song, or a word or lyric.  Don't forget to upload it to the Scrap It With A Song website by June 30 to have a chance at being guest designer for August.  Scrap It With A Song is also having a DT call so now is your chance to apply!

Let's Capture These Sketches - Sketch #155

Every Thursday is our reveal day over at Let's Capture These Sketches for Sketch #155 that was designed by the super talented Natalie Roy. Here is a layout I created for the sketch and thought I would scrap the lovely season of Fall in my area:

I created this with the Farmhouse Paper Company Sugar Hill Fall Collection for the papers in this layout and used my Silhouette Cameo for the title and die cuts and machine stitched around the edges of the background and added a few pearls and some Webster's Pages ribbon.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #317

Where do the weeks go?  It just seems like I posted the Scrapbook Challenges Sketch#316 and here we are on another Monday! Yes it's Monday and I thought maybe a nice bright cheery sunflower on a layout might brighten your day.  Today's sketch was fun to create with.  I loved the simplicity of the sketch.

I tend to scrapbook with the seasons and this layout definitely has an autumn colour palette.  I used white cardstock and scored the paper at every one inch mark and then used some Tsukineko Walnut Ink Spray to give it the rustic look.  I then inked and distressed all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.  Next, I took out my favorite new scrappy toy, the Silhouette Cameo Electronic Diecutting System  and cut the tiny flowers below and the wheat flourish behind the photo and then used my Tsukineko Walnut Ink Spray and spritzed then to look more rustic.  The green polka dot paper at the bottom of the layout is made to look like grass with my Martha Stewart Fringe Scissors.  Next, I machine stitched around the entire outside edge of the paper, placed my title after painting the Maya Road Chipboard Letters of the word "flower" with green acrylic paint.  Lastly, I embellished with some sunflower stickers from Jolee's Boutique and small Prima Resin Flowers.  The patterned papers are from the Farmhouse Paper Company Sugar Hill  - Fall Collection.  I hope you enjoy the sketches.  Every week there is a single page sketch and a double page sketch.  The choice is yours!
