Joining The Project Life Craze!

Hi friends

Today I bought it.  Yes, I bought the Project Life Kit.

Since May when I went on a scrapbooking retreat, I have been thinking of starting Project Life.  For those of you that aren't familiar with Project Life, it is the brilliant idea of Becky Higgins to capture day to day life through journaling and photos.  It can be as simple or as extravagant as a person wants it to be.  I have heard so many people say that their families looks through it and enjoy it more than their scrapbooks.  It's real life.  It's all the day to day living, all the good and the bad.

Project Life can be for anyone.  I like that.  Anyone can do it and it isn't just for scrapbookers.  It's for anyone that wants to take photos and write about their weeks and months to capture the memories.  I really think it is going to be fun and it will inspire me to take more photos and more journaling, which isn't one of my strengths.  I think it will be very therapeutic as well.  Putting my Silhouette Cameo to even more use will be great.

Although I love to be creative and love photography, scrapbooking, mixed media and art journaling,  I think I'm going to love Project Life too.  It will help me remember the weeks of the year, and with my forgetfulness, that is a good thing.

If any of you are Project Lifers have some tips to share for the newbie, and know of any good websites or Pinterest websites, let me know.  It would be great to share ideas.

A Thousand Years

Hello friends!

Today I wanted to share a layout that I created for Challenge #8 at Scrap & Music.  I love this song and thought it would be great to play along.

I created this layout of my husband and I on our anniversary with the Andrea Victoria Collection from My Mind's Eye papers in my stash from a few years ago that I wanted to use.

My Art Journal For April - Happier At Home

Hi friends!  Today I'm sharing my art journal page for April that I have created directly in the book "Happier At Home".  It is a class that I am taking once a month taught by the awesome Lynn Thune.  I missed the March and April class so today I did some catching up.  I put my own spin on things with the stamps and mists.

My Art Journal For March - Happier At Home

Hi friends!

At the moment I am doing a lot of art journaling and am really starting to love mixed media.  I am doing an art journal project where I create my pages for each month of the year in the book "Happier At Home"  I had some catching up to do and this was my project for March.

Turquoise is one of my favorite colors so I like to use it a lot on my pages.  I like to combine it with brown and gold as well.  Here are some closeups:

I used some film strip and melted it with my heat gun and also a butterfly cut from a transparency and used my heat gun to melt the edges of the butterfly and flowers as well.

My Art Journal For August

Hello friends!  Wow!  Can you believe it's August? Where is the time going?

I love to art journal and it's always fun to play and get inky and not worry if something isn't perfectly straight and to just have fun. Today I created these pages for my monthly "Happier At Home" art journal that Lynn Thune teaches.

I love these colors together and love the soft feminine look.  The mists were "Lettuce" by Ranger Adirondacks Color Wash and Heidi Swapp "Peach" Color Shine Mists.  The distress inks I created this with are Walnut Stain, Brushed Corduroy and Worn Lipstick all by Tim Holtz.

Thanks for letting me share my journal.  Have a wonderful day!
