Hello scrappy friends!  I have another wedding layout to share but this time it's of my son and daughter-in-law's wedding day.  I used LCOM Sketch #36 created from Isabelle Doucette for Let's Capture Our Memories.

September 1 Sketch For Stuck Sketches

I used mostly Bella Blvd. patterned papers, stickers, feathers and crochet hearts for this layout.  The papers and stickers are from the Love And Marriage Collection.  I also used Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #311 without any inserts to create the lacy border strip and also the amazing Kreaxions Circle Cutter for the circles.

No layout is complete without a little sewing machine stitching for added texture.

My Happier At Home Art Journal For September, 2013

Hi friends!  Today was art journal day for September and I created this in my Happier At Home book that is probably more of an altered book project than an art journal.

These colours make me happy.  I used October Afternoon Sprinklers (Carbon Copy, Rotary Phone, and Swivel Chair) for my sprays.  Don't you just love those names?  Sort of vintage don't you think?  I also used some Tim Holtz Distress Stains in Rusty Hinge, Wild Honey, and Walnut Stain to tint my ribbon and also some Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Rusty Hinge, Brushed Corduroy, Walnut Stain and Stormy Sky to fill in colour on the background after I sprayed.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by so I could share my art journal project with you.  Have a lovely day!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things - Stamps

Hello scrappy friends!  Today I wanted to share different ways you can use stamps on your projects.

I purchased this brown sheet of fun foam from my local craft store and I wanted to stamp a sentiment to create a "faux leather" look.  I used my heat gun to heat up the fun foam and then while the sheet was hot, I stamped the sentiment into it.  I then took my Tim Holtz Distress Ink and my foam applicator and tinted it to make the words stand out more.  The heart on the top right hand corner was stamped and cut out and then I used my date stamp to add some words with archival ink.  The tree was stenciled and then I used modeling paste for the tree and then I hand painted each dimensional leaf and outlined them with a pen.  I have a lot of sequins in my stash so I adhered them randomly to my layout.  For the trunk of the tree, I used some gold embossing powder.

There are many different ways to use stamps and the team at Practical Scrappers has a few more creative ideas.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are inspired to create with your stamps.
