Multicraft Challenge

Hello scrappy friends!

Recently, I was invited by Creative Scrapbooker Magazine to participate in the Multicraft  Challenge.

If you aren't familiar with Multicraft, they are a Canadian based craft supply company that has affordable, good quality craft products. In fact, I recently saw some of their products in my local Walmart as well.

Three scrapbookers were invited to take part in the challenge and given exactly the same products to create a layout, card or whatever suits their fancy. It is always intriguing to me to see how each person has a unique take on these types of challenges. No two people come up with the same creation.

I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous papers in the kit and knew that I wanted to create a dreamcatcher.

Here are some instructions on how I created this layout as follows:

  1. I began my page by taking a 12 X 12 piece of white textured card stock.
  2. The purple ink that I used is by the Multicraft Forever In Time Collection. I "stamped" the ink pad onto my craft mat and used a water brush to add some water and mixed the ink and water together and using the packaging technique, I stamped the paper.
  3. I wanted a little more texture so I added a script background stamp, that was in my stash, and pressed the Multicraft purple ink pad onto it and stamped around my page until I was happy with the look. I felt that it still needed something so I added some splatters of Heidi Swapp Color shine in Gold Lame.
  4. Once it was all dry, I took the fabulous Multicraft gold pen and colored the Multicraft chipboard flourishes with gold and let them dry.
  5. Now it was time to assemble my page.
  6. The white feathers with the gold dipped tips are so gorgeous that Multicraft has and I knew that they would be perfect for assembling my dreamcatcher.  I fussy cut some feathers from the beautiful papers and arranged then on top of the white with gold dipped feathers and adhered them to the card stock.
  7. I added a patterned paper strip near the top of my page.
  8. The die cut circle above the feathers is a cut file from Just Nick that I cut out on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine and colored it with the gold Multicraft pen.
  9. Once it was dry, I backed it with some patterned paper from the Multicraft patterned papers and adhered it to the chipboard flourishes and feathers.
  10. My photo was matted onto some of the pretty Multicraft handmade pastel papers and added a tag and scraps of patterned paper behind the photo to give it more layers.
  11. I added a gold line near the outside edge of my white cardstock background with the gold pen and a ruler and also the pink paper that mats my photo.
  12. Finally, I hand journaled the date on the bottom right hand corner of the white card stock background.
  13. My title was created with some pretty sparkly aqua American Craft alphabet "Thickers" from my stash.
The layout is now complete.

Right Here Right Now

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout I created for the JustNick Studio and Scrapbook Circle Team Up that is happening all this week.

I was given the fabulous March Kit from Scrapbook Circle that has some items from the Shimelle Little By Little, Amy Tangerine's On A Whim, Paige Evans Oh My Heart, Pretty Little Studio Summer Vibes, Fancy Pants Design's Joy Parade Collections. Here is what I created...

I knew when I saw that bright, colorful paper from Shimelle's Little By Little Collection that I had to combine it with the Aztec Lace Background Cut File from JustNick.

For the title I cut the Right Here Right Now Cut File with my Cameo and then took a pair of scissors and separated the words to split up the title.

The fun part of the process was embellishing the background.  I used the puffy stickers and dots from the kit and added them to the triangles on the background.

I also added some stickers to all four corners of the layout

I knew I wanted to use the Paige Evan's Oh My Heart stamps in some way so I stamped the word "today" on a sticker and then added some mini alpha stickers for the year.

I hope you enjoyed my layout.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Friends Forever

Hello everyone! I'm sharing this layout on the A Flair For Buttons blog today of my two oldest kiddos that are now all grown up, but I still smile when I look at these two when they were little. They were best buds then and they still are now.

For this layout I used the flair buttons from the Happy Flair set and the Just Hearts 2 Flair set. and added one to the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner of my layout.  One of my favorite layout designs is the diagonal design.

I used a funky cut file background (Quilted Background) from Just Nick Digital Cut Files that I cut out on white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some plaid papers from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Collection.

I added the foam words "friends and forever" for the title.

I dug deep in my stash and found some enamel dots, wood veneers and some ephemera from Elle's Studio.

I thought the pastel colors went well with the page as my children were babies really.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a lovely day!

June is all about weddings so I created a layout of my daughter in law Lori and my daughter's girlfriend who were bridesmaids in my daughter's wedding.  Aren't they gorgeous girls?

I used the Just Nick Floral Background cut file and cut it out on black cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some pink paper from the June kit.

I also cut out the butterflies from the Just Nick June Icons cut file on some pink polka dot paper and machine stitched acrylic butterfly shapes on top of the paper butterfly shapes.

I also cut out the butterfly shapes below from the June Icons cut file and placed them around the page.

I added flair button and leaf three dimensional foam shape around the title to direct the eye to the title.

On the vellum tag, I added the acrylic word "memories" and adhered it to the tag with some machine stitching.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit.  Now it's time to hop over to the amazingly talent Marcia and see what she has created with the cut files from Just Nick and the Clique Kit's June La Dolce Vita Kit. I'm sure it will be amazing.

Day 3 of The 14 Days Of Holidays Giveaway

Hello friends! Today is Day 3 of the 14 Days Of Holidays event and from now until December 18 on each weekday, there is a FREE cut file to download in the Just Nick Digital Cut Files shop.  Today, I am sharing some simple holiday cards using the Layered Poinsettia cut file.

I made three simple holiday cards with this lovely cut file designed by the amazing Nicole Nowosad, owner of Just Nick Digital Cut Files.

For two of the cards, I created them with the new My Mind's Eye Market Street Collection for most of the papers including the gorgeous gold stripe and gold script vellum on the third card.  My Mind's Eye always knows how to wow us with their beautiful collections . The first card is created with papers from the Photoplay Dear Santa Collection.  Photoplay Paper is a new company and I am loving what I am seeing from them so far.

Today,  Thursday December 3, 2015 the Layered Poinsettia cut file is available for FREE in the Just Nick Digital Cut Files store.  Simply use the code POINTFREE at checkout today only until midnight CST.  After that, the Layered Poinsettia cut file will still be available to purchase.

Be sure and check out all the cut files in the Just Nick shop.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day and the cut file.
