In The Garden Layout

Hello friends! Happy Monday! There is only one more week until my son goes back to school and I can't believe how summer has gone by so fast.

Today I wanted to share a layout that I created of my daughter.  She loves gardening and she is amazing at it.  She grows all her annuals from seed and has an amazing garden.

This layout was so fun to make.  I am taking a class taught by Paige Evans and this layout is for an assignment to use a cut file background and watercolors.   Paige Evans designed the cut file that I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

I used several papers from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes Collection and some watercolors around the die cuts to make the flowers pop.

My layout wouldn't have been complete without these cute In The Garden Flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

Don't you just love these?  I especially love the "got dirt" flair button.  Here are some more detailed photos of my layout.  I used some Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a water brush for some of the watercolors and also a water-colour set I bought at Michael's.

I love the summery, fresh feel to this page.  Sometimes it is good to take a class and get new ideas.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Flowers Make Me Smile

Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Today I had my morning coffee out on my front porch and decided to take out my camera, you know the one besides the iPhone.  I must say I have become lazy in the past year and don't use my DSLR camera nearly enough.  I decided to practice some macro photography since I have a macro lens (Canon 100mm F2/8L IS USM) which I don't use very often.  These are beginner photos.  Macro photography is a different world altogether and I would like to improve my macro photography skills so to improve it's practice, practice and more practice.

Here are some of the photos of my front yard flowers that I captured today.

I love color and I love Spring. My favorite season of the year.

Thanks for visiting my blog and now I'm off to my studio to scrapbook some of these photos.  Have a lovely day!

Take Time To Smell The Flowers

Spring officially begins in a week and the days are getting longer.  I love Spring!  It's my favorite season of the year.  Gardening has been on my mind these days.  I have always loved to plant flowers in my yard and have flowers and plants in my home.  I also love getting my camera out and taking photographs of flowers.  What can I say....flowers and plants make me happy!

Today, I had some shopping to do so I treated myself to a bunch of pale pink Gerbera Daisies

and St. Patrick's Day is only five days away so I also bought a shamrock plant or the proper name is an Oxalis regnellii plant.  They are so pretty with their delicate white flowers and leaves that open up in the daylight hours and close up in the nightime hours.

Now to just keep my two cats away from them.

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to take the time to smell the flowers.
