Hawaii Makes Me Happy

Hello friends! Today I thought I would share a third layout that I created a somewhat mixed media layout with the June Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I went on a scrapbooking/photography cruise with 80 lovely ladies from mostly Canada and the U.S.A. to Hawaii back in 2012. We travelled to Oahu, Maui, Kahai and the Big Island of Hawaii. 

I used the packaging technique for my background with watercolors that coordinated with the beautiful patterned papers from the Pebbles Sunshiny Days Collection. I love all the papers, ephemera, and stickers from this collection.  

I fussy cut several flowers from the floral paper and placed them around the circular design.  I also machine stitched to adhere the chipboard title to the layout with yellow thread.

Hello friends! It's that special day today where the June kits are all revealed at My Creative Scrapbook. As I look through the design team gallery, I am fascinated by all the eye candy. I think it is amazing how many designers are given the same kit to work their magic and they are all so different from each other. I love all the styles that each of the designers have. Aren't they fabulous? I worked with the June Creative Kit which consists of mostly the Pebbles Sunshiny Days Collection of patterned papers, cardstock stickers, ephemera, and chipboard stickers. I am in love with the bright colors that scream tropical paradise. The flamingos and pineapples have my heart.

Here is one of the layouts I created. To make the colors pop, I thought that adding a black card stock background would work. This is a layout of my youngest son and husband having a jumping contest on the beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

For this layout, I used the word cut files, that are included with the purchase of the kit, to cut out the title on my Silhouette Cameo. To give it more of a playful, fun look, I opted to scrap it on a diagonal slant.

With many of my layouts, I like to add some stitching and this layout is no exception. For this layout, I added some machine stitching to adhere the title. Pink can work for masculine layouts in this case because of the other coordinating colors such as the aqua and yellow. It has the tropical feel to it with the flowers, pineapples and flamingos.

Sequins were included in this kit and I loved the sparkle they add to the layout. There are a generous amount of diecuts and stickers in the kit.

Just Nick/Creative Scrappers Team Up

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a travel layout of my son and daughter in law on their trip to Europe for the Just Nick Digital Cut Files and Creative Scrappers team up.  What a combination! Two of my favorite things are cut files and sketches.  

First I cut out the Chopstick Background from Just Nick with my Silhouette Cameo and used the Sketch #296 from Creative Scrappers.  The papers from the Carta Bella Travel Stories worked perfectly with this cut file.  I like the way the words peeked through.

I also added some stickers from the Travel Stories Collection, some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons, some paint splatters and finally some enamel dots.

To make the journaling more interesting,  I thought adding some mini alpha stickers along with my handwriting would do the trick.

At The Vineyard

Hello friends! Today over at Paper House Productions, I am sharing a layout of a summer vacation a few years ago where my family toured a vineyard to see how wine was made.

• Wine Country 3D Stickers

For my layout, I used a woodgrain background paper and cut a background cut file from Just Nick Digital Cut Files on white cardstock  with my Silhouette Cameo that reminded me of "grapes".  I added the Paper House Productions Wine Country 3D Stickers here and there to draw the eye around the page. 

 To add the photos,  I punched out all the 3X3 photos with a 3 inch circle paper punch and adhered them underneath the cut file to frame them.

I love the dimension that the Paper House Productions 3D stickers give to my page.
Also, the cut file (Stippled Circle Background) is from Just Nick Digital Cut Files. It reminded me of grapes so I thought it would work well with this layout.

Sunshine & Happiness Layout

Hello followers! Today I am on the A Flair For Buttons blog sharing a layout of my eldest son and daughter in law on one of their many vacations to the Dominican Republic.  They have done lots of travelling in their seven years of marriage and I love to live vicariously through them.  Ha!

I added lots of flair buttons to this vacation layout.  Actually four flair buttons in total from three different flair sets.

The "#travel" flair button is from the Hashtag Summer Flair Set,  the "Hola" flair button is from the Mexico Flair Set, the "relax" and "at the beach" flair buttons are from the Relax Flair Set.  I love mixing and matching sets.

I love the softness of vellum and I thought I would use a circle punch to add some vellum circles underneath some of the flair buttons  I think it makes it stand out more from the bright background.  

For the patterned papers, I used the Jet Set Collection by We R Memory Keepers.  The cut files I used for this layout are from Just Nick Digital Cut Files that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo cutting machine.  The sketch I used for this layout was designed by Kelly Klapstein for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine's January Sketchy Challenge.

Scrapping Our Stash February 2015 Blog Hop

Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying the February Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop so far.  You should have arrived here from the very talented Suzanna Lee.

Scrapping my stash is easy. I am such a paper hoarder that it isn't funny.  I decided to do a summer layout of my daughter and son in law from their vacation last year in their new to them RV.

 I used some Bella Blvd. Summer Squeeze patterned papers and stickers and also Bella Blvd.'s  crochet hearts and a crochet flower.  On most of my layouts, I like to add some sewing machine stitching  and some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.  

I have a one inch square paper punch so I went crazy and punched out lots of squares from two different papers and adhered the blue cloud squares to the top of the layout to imitate a sky and used the plaid paper to coordinate and added that to the bottom of the layout.  I then added some patterned paper strips from the same collection.  This completed the background.  Then I went crazy with embellishing.

Happy day friends! I'm so glad you stopped by.  I wanted to share my layout for the August 1 sketch at Stuck?! Sketches.  For my layout I wanted to create a nautical themed page for my summer vacation to beautiful Lake Windermere in British Columbia, Canada.  I love sailboats and boats and beautiful lakes and oceans.  This is from the Fancy Pants Collection called Down By The Shore.

Laura Whitaker always creates an amazing sketch and I found this one fun to work with.
