Instructions:
Using a paper trimmer, cut the green plaid patterned paper 12 inches by 3 1/2 inches.
Drawing freehand with a pencil or using a bendable ruler, draw a wavy line across the page along the bottom edge of the paper.
Cut along the pencil line with scissors.
With the fringe scissors, or with a regular scissors, cut fringe across the bottom of the green plaid patterned paper. Note: Be sure to not cut fringe more than an inch from the top edge of the plaid paper as this will be the border to adhere the fringe paper to the background paper.
Repeat with the woodgrain snowflake paper and cut two paper strips measuring 12 inches by 3 1/2 inches and draw a wavy line with a pencil or use a bendable ruler and draw a pencil line.
Cut out with scissors.
Cut fringe across the bottom of each paper strip leaving a one inch border on the top edge to adhere the strips to the background paper.
From the November Creative Kit, find the 12 inch X 12 inch sheet of pine bough patterned paper. This will be the background paper for the layout.
Adhere one of the woodgrain snowflake fringe paper strips to the top edge of the pinebough background paper.
Adhere the green plaid fringe paper strip approximately 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the background paper.
Add the bottom woodgrain snowflake patterned paper fringe strip to the bottom edge of the pinebough background patterned paper and adhere.
When the two woodgrain snowflake fringe paper strips and the one green plaid fringe paper strip are adhered to the pinebough patterned paper, it should look like the photo below.
Mat and adhere the photo and woodgrain snowflake paper onto a piece of green plaid paper.
Adhere the matted photo onto the pinebough paper about two inches from the left edge of the paper making sure that the photo is tucked behind the top and bottom fringe as shown below.
Place the border paper to the right of the photo and tuck it under the photo's edge and adhere.
Add the "I Love Winter" banner over the border paper as shown.
Add the "Snow Days Are The Best Days" chipboard sticker to the right of the "I Love Winter" banner sticker as shown below.
Add a wood snowflake, that is dabbed with liquid adhesive, below the sticker as shown.
Add the "green sleigh" sticker to the right of the "Snow Days Are The Best Days" chipboard sticker as shown below.
Add the two tree stickers below the sleigh popping up with some foam adhesive squares to layer the trees.
Add the "cabin" chipboard sticker to the left of the trees and to the bottom of the border paper and adhere.
Add another wood snowflake piece to the bottom of the layout onto the right edge of the green plaid paper fringe.
Add the "buck" sticker that is popped up with some foam adhesive squares to the bottom right corner of the layout and adhere.
Add a snowflake sticker and adhere.
Add the "bird" sticker, that is popped up with foam adhesive squares, to the snowflake sticker and to the left side of the "buck" sticker.
Add a "pinebough sticker" and a small red "snowflake" sticker below the wood snowflake piece and adhere.
For the larger "snowflake" sticker, add a foam adhesive square to the backside of the sticker and adhere below the wood snowflake and beside the "snowball bucket" sticker.
The layout is now complete!
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and are inspired to try the fringe technique. I love the texture and interest it gives to this rustic layout.
Have a great day!
Lee-Anne
