Guess What? I'm A New Sketchy Maven At Sketches In Thyme

Today I can finally announce that I am a new Sketchy Maven at Sketches In Thyme!  I am very honoured to be part of this sketch team.  Sketches are my favourite thing to inspire me to create scrapbooking layouts.  Here is the announcement of the new team members here.

It's going to be great to create along with some new scrappy friends and I am so excited to see what all the members create.

Here was the sketch for the design team call sketch:

and this was the layout that I submitted for the call:

I hope you join me and the entire Sketchy Maven team for weekly sketches to get your scrapping on!

Have a great day!

can't wait to see your take on our fun sketch!!

I have created a layout of this awesome sketch of my daughter's cute doggie Elly.

Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge

Every month there is a new sketch over at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  As you probably already know, I am a sketch fanatic so I thought I would give this sketch a try.  I thought I would challenge myself to take out some mists and masks and maybe try a different medium such as some glass beads to give the layout more texture.

Shannon and Elly

This was a lot of fun to create and it was fun to get inky and messy.  Purple for me is not a colour I find easy to work with but thought I would mix it with some green and blue for a more pastel effect.  My daughter adores her dog and when I was staying with her one weekend I took this photo.  I love candid photos the best.

I hope you enjoyed this and if you like to be challenged or just need a starting point then check out Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's Sketchy Challenge here.

Have a great Tuesday!

Puppy Love

My daughter and her husband have a dog named Elly.  Here is a layout of her when she was a puppy:

This layout was done with Fancy Pants "It's The Little Things" collection.  First I distressed the edges and cut a frame from the paper.  I made the rosettes from a Tim Holtz Rosette die, the sheer flower was one of my own creations using a Bounce fabric softener sheet, Stickles and a Prima jewel.  The vintage buttons are from Jenni Bowlin and the pearls from Kaisercraft.  I painted the Maya Road Chipboard Letters with a Ranger Paint Dabber in the color "Pool" and rolled a text roller stamp on top of the painted chipboard letters.  Lastly, I wanted to give it some texture so I adhered some lacy ribbon, painted a little area and used some rubons from the same Fancy Pants collection.  Thanks for checking out my blog and have a wonderful day!
