Remember What Matters Most

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout of my daughter and son and their spouses at Just Nick Digital Cut Files.
I designed this layout with the Botanical Beauty Background cut file and some patterned papers and embellishments from the June kit from Clique Kits that I designed with for the Just Nick/Clique Kits team up earlier this month.
For my layout, I cut out the Botanical Beauty Background cut file on a sheet of 12 X 12 white card stock with my Cameo and backed it with the aqua corrugated paper and also several coordinating patterned papers.  I wanted to add more depth to my project by adding dimensional foam squares underneath the white card stock before adhering the patterned papers.

Here is the cut file I used for my layout:
Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the fabulous cut files in the Just Nick shop here.

Little Moments Layout - Just Nick/Clique Kits Team Up

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout over at Just Nick Digital Cut Files using the Floral Background cut file and the June Icons cut file.

My daughter in law Lori and my daughter's friend Kelsi, were bridesmaids at my daughter's wedding and I wanted to document them on that special day.

Last week Just Nick Digital Cut Files teamed up with Clique Kits for a blog hop so this layout was included in the hop.  I used the Floral Background cut file and the June Icons cut file on my layout as well as items from the June Kit at Clique Kits.

I cut out the Floral Background cut file on some black cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some pink paper from the Clique Kit's June Kit.

There are some cute acrylic shapes in the kit so I cut the butterflies on some pink polka dot paper and machine stitched the acrylic butterflies onto the paper butterflies.

I wanted the "Little Moments" title to stand out, so I embellished around the title with a flair button and a dimensional leaf sticker to direct the eye to the title.

I loved this vellum tag and wanted to add the acrylic word "memories" to the tag so I machine stitched the acrylic word to the tag.  Stitching on vellum works well because adhesive would show through.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  This layout was time consuming, but I am happy on how it turned out.  Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Brothers Forever Layout

Happy Saturday!  Last night I was looking on Pinterest and I was totally inspired by a layout I saw of the amazingly talented and sweet Paige Evans.  I thought I would give it a try and this layout proves  that a person doesn't need to throw out those tiny strips of paper they have laying around.

I must admit this is a labor intensive layout but I am so happy how it turned out.  The photo is of my two sons at a local amusement park two summers ago.  My oldest son is 30 and my youngest son is 15 so my youngest looks up to his older brother as an example and a mentor.  I love it.

I used the new So Rad Collection by Simple Stories and this is the fourth layout with this collection and I had lots of scraps of paper so this type of layout is perfect to use up those scraps.

Of course my favorite embellishment is flair buttons so I added one from A Flair For Buttons.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from the Silhouette Online Store to cut out the large stars in the white card stock and the smaller orange stars.  I used my sewing machine to stitch around the larger stars on the white card stock.

Jillibean Soup has some wonderful wood buttons so I added those to the center of the orange stars.

Finally I added some Jillibean Soup little star enamel embellishments and some Heidi Swapp Colorshine "Tea" mist splatters.  I felt the orange stars needed a little more pop so I got out my black pen and added some faux stitching.

This took up my evening last night but I always am happy to share my layouts with my sons and show them how special they are to me.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have an awesome day!

Young Son Birthday Box Card

Hello friends! I hope your weekend is going well so far.  Tomorrow it is back to normal as the holidays are over and my son heads back to school.

Today I wanted to share a birthday box card that I created with my Silhouette Cameo.

This was fun to do and what I like is it folds up flat to fit in an envelope.  I chose a design in the Silhouette Online Store created by Lori Whitlock and created my own spin on it.  I chose to use some stickers and papers from Echo Park's That's My Boy Collection and some enamel stars.

I think it's perfect for a young son/boy who loves video games.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

November Challenge At Creative Embellishments

Hello friends! Can you believe it is November already? Wow!  Today at Creative Embellishments we are revealing our November Challenge and this is the inspiration photo for the challenge.

The twist is what are you thankful for?  I am thankful for so many things that I can't count them all but for this particular layout, I am thankful for my parents who are probably the most kind and giving people I know.

I was also inspired by the colors and the pumpkins and came up with this layout of my parents.

I created this mixed media layout with some paper scraps that I had from another project and added lots of paint, ink and stamps as well as some gold thread and orange thread to give it more interest.  It's the first time I have used thread on a layout besides machine stitching or hand stitching and I like the effect.

I used the Creative Embellishment's Distressed Burlap Stamp for some of the background stamping and  painted pumpkins as well as the Creative Embellishments Pumpkin Faces Chipboard and also the Autumn Leaves Set and the Autumn Leaves Set (set of 6)

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  What inspires you about the November Challenge Inspiration Photo?  You can link your project for the November Challenge at Creative Embellishments here to be eligible to win a prize.  Thanks for visiting!

Creative Scrappers Sketch #268

Hello everyone!  Today I wanted to share a layout I created for a challenge at Creative Scrappers.

I love Creative Scrappers sketches and I really love Sketch #268 and had to play along.  Circles are one of my favorite things to create with on a layout.  For this layout I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out 9 circles in the white card stock and also cut out another sheet of card stock of the flower circles.  I used the Doodlebug Designs Springtime Collection of patterned papers and stickers and made each circle its own little "layout".

Here is the sketch #268 created by Jenny Evans

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to be creative.

Canadian Scrapbooker March Sketchy Challenge

It's been five weeks since I have done any scrapbooking and it feels good to be scrapping once again.

Today, I created two layouts.  One is for design team work and the other is for the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for March.

This layout is to celebrate Spring.  I just loved this little fawn when we were staying at Waterton Lakes National Park.  He was right outside our room.

I created this with the new Doodlebug Design "Flower Box" collection.  I just love the bright, cheery colours to this collection.  Here are some more close ups:

Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a wonderful weekend!
