Peace Acetate Card

Hello friends! Just thought I would share an acetate card that I created for one of my  Christmas cards that I am mailing out this year.

I recently played with some acetate and I love this Snowflake Acetate that I received in my design team package from Paper House Productions.

Acetate is somewhat of a challenge to paper craft with.  I usually like to make little gift boxes on my Silhouette Cameo with it as it cuts beautifully on the Cameo, but I have also seen cards in the stores that have acetate.  Because it is clear, whatever you place on the card has to be thought out carefully because the backside shows through.  That is why when it is used in creating a card, I had to add paper to the backside.  I also used some Christmas and winter patterned papers from Paper House Productions for the tag and the inside and outside of the card.

Here is a peek at the sentiment.  It is actually a sticker that I glued to some paper and fussy cut around the edge.

Acetate is also a challenge to photograph.  I personally feel that photos don't do the card justice.

Faith Hope Joy Card

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a simple card over at Paper House Productions.  I designed this card with the Atlantis Colorways Collection.  I love the beautiful colors and graphics in this collection.

Supply List

• Atlantis Trim Cards 12" Colorways Scrapbook Paper

For this card I chose the striped side of the Atlantis Trim Cards 12" Colorways Scrapbook Paper  and with my sewing machine I stitched around the edge with some white thread and adhered it to the white cardstock.

Using the other side of the Atlantis Trim Cards 12" Colorways Scrapbook Paper, I took some scissors and cut out the small square designs and traced them with a die cut shape that I had from a cut file (Quilted Background) from Just Nick Digital Cut Files. Once they were traced, I cut the squares out with scissors.

I adhered the square designs onto the striped paper and then added the words "Faith, Hope, and Joy".

A Wedding Card

Hello everyone! Hope you are having a good day. Today I wanted to share a quick wedding card I made using my Silhouette Cameo.  The design is created by artist Daniela Angelova and is available for puchase in the Silhouette Online Store.  It is Design ID #67329.

Today, my family will be attending a dinner for my sister in law's marriage. My brother passed away 8 years ago and my sister in law is getting married again to a really great guy.  I know my brother would have been happy to see her find love and happiness again and not be alone as he was only 38 and they had a son 2 and a daughter 4 when he passed.  Ivan has been very good to my sister in law and my niece and nephew and I wish them nothing but happiness.

Young Son Birthday Box Card

Hello friends! I hope your weekend is going well so far.  Tomorrow it is back to normal as the holidays are over and my son heads back to school.

Today I wanted to share a birthday box card that I created with my Silhouette Cameo.

This was fun to do and what I like is it folds up flat to fit in an envelope.  I chose a design in the Silhouette Online Store created by Lori Whitlock and created my own spin on it.  I chose to use some stickers and papers from Echo Park's That's My Boy Collection and some enamel stars.

I think it's perfect for a young son/boy who loves video games.

Halloween Card

Hello friends! Just wanted to share a card I created for World Cardmaking Day using a free cut file from The Cut Shoppe that is being offered over at Scrapbook Nerd.

I cut the Haunted House and the Boo Star Cut Files on black card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and used the Halloween Magic Collection of patterned papers, chipboard embellishments and stickers from Bella Blvd.

Mother's Day Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.

DIY Watercolour  Mother's Day Card

What does a scrappy mom do when she has Mother's Day to do whatever she wants?  Makes a card for her mother of course!  This card was created using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the design and then I add a watercolour effect to the background by cutting out a separate piece of white card stock and painting with watercolours.  All the details on how I made this card are on the Silhouette America blog here.

Easter Card

Hello scrappy friends!  Today over at Scrapbooker's Paradise it is Challenge #12 and the design team have some Easter and Spring inspiration for you.

I created an Easter card with some papers from the Echo Park Splendid Sunshine Collection.

I used my Silhouette Cameo for the card design and then embellished with some enamel dots, ribbon and fussy cut some birds and butterflies from the Splendid Sunshine Collection.

Live Simple Step Card

Hello scrappy friends!  Today I wanted to share a step card that I created with some bits and pieces that I had laying around in my stash from the Kaisercraft Tea Break Collection.  Kaisercraft is an Australian company and I really love their papers.  There was some fussy cutting and layering to it but I am happy how it turned out.

Cowboy/Cowgirl Boot Card

Hello friends!  Today I wanted to share a quick card that I made for my niece that is twelve years old today.  She is quite the cowgirl and I thought this card was perfect for her.

It came together quickly as I created it from a file of Lori Whitlock's in the Silhouette Online Store and cut it out on my Cameo.  The papers and stickers are from the Collecting Moments Collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  I'm pretty sure I have all their collections.  I love Fancy Pants!

Vellum Heart Card

Hello! Happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share a card that I created with the Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch #905.  

For this card I punched the corners of the floral paper and diecut a heart from white cardstock and punched hearts from different colored cardstock and adhered them to the diecut heart.  I then placed a sheet of vellum on top and machine stitched around the heart.  I then placed some additional punched hearts on the outside of the vellum heart and inside some of the sequins.

Valentine's Day Card For Kreaxions

I hope you are having a good Sunday.  Today I have a card to share that I created with the amazing Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch #905 for Valentine's Day.

I punched two border strips from the punch without any inserts and overlapped them to give it a feminine touch.

The top of the card I stamped the kraft card stock with some Versamark Ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder and added the leftover hearts from the punch to add some more visual interest.  I them added a sticker for the title and some puffy heart embellishments.

Kreaxions Happy Birthday Card

Hello friends!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Today I have a birthday card to share using the amazing Kreaxions products.

For this card, I punched the four corners of the orange paper with the Kreaxions Punch #311 and Insert C,  the Kreaxions Star Stencil and Kreaxions Punch #311 with Insert A for the doily and the Kreaxions Circle Cutter to cut the brown polka dot floral paper.  I then layered the card, stamped a happy birthday sentiment and added some sequins to give more interest.

Doily Note Card

Paper Punch - Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch #309

1. First I stamped my kraft card stock card with white pigment ink and a polka dot stamp. 
2. Next, I used the Star Template to trace out my doily on white card stock and punched all  the way around with the Kreaxions Punch #309 with the Insert A. 
3.  I trimmed off the loose edges and then used my Kreaxions Circle Punch to cut a 3 1/2 inch circle of black glitter card stock and mounted the white doily over the black card stock circle.
4. I then tied a silver bow and adhered a red sequin to the center of the bow and then   added silver sequins around the doily and also cut out a border of white card stock and again mounted it over the glitter card stock and trimmed it and adhered it behind the doily.

Let It Snow Chalkboard Christmas Card

Hello and happy Sunday!  Today I am sharing a Christmas card that I created for the Susan K. Weckesser's Design Team.  It was so much fun to create and I wanted to try to do something a little different by creating a "chalkboard" feel to my card.  I am loving the chalkboard and sequin craze right now and also vellum as it gives a little softness to a card.

Below are the step by step instructions to create this card:

Stamp the front of the card with three different snowflake wood mounted stamps using some white    pigment ink and let it dry.

Diecut a  small envelope from a sheet of vellum (I used my Silhouette Cameo)  and cut a piece of black card stock to measure approximately 3.5 inches by 2.5 inches.   Assemble and adhere the envelope.

Stamp the Susan K. Weckesser snowman stamp (IB-SB-326 One Of A Kind Winter) and also the "let it snow" sentiment with some white pigment ink onto a sheet of black card stock and let it dry. When it was dry,  fussy cut the snowman.

Slide the black card stock sentiment into the vellum envelope and added some gold sequins and wood veneer stars painted with some Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink.

Cut a strip of washi tape and adhere it around the bottom of the vellum envelope making sure to cut the strip long enough to seal the right hand side of the envelope.

Adhere the "chalkboard" snowman with adhesive to the righthand side of the envelope.  Be sure to offset it a little off the righthand side of the vellum envelope and adhere three wood veneer stars to the outside of the vellum envelope.  Set the vellum envelope aside.

Wrap the of gold May Arts ribbon around the front of the card and tie a bow. Make sure to have it on the lefthand side of the card so there is enough space for the vellum envelope to be placed to the righthand side of it.

Add some dimensional adhesive or pop dots to the backside of the vellum envelope and place it over the ribbon.

Practical Scrappers Thanksgiving Card

Hello!  Can you believe it's the month of November?  Today at Practical Scrappers there is a reveal of the November 1 Card Sketch, created by design team member Patty Selah.

The design team was asked to create a card with a Thanksgiving theme so I happily took out some seasonal papers from the We R Memories "Country Livin" Collection and created this simple card.

I cut some ribbon that was maple leaves and applied some Beacon 3-In-1 Glue and adhered some sequins to the maple leaves.  I then found a wood button and tied a bow with twine and misted a wood leaf embellishment with October Afternoon Sprinklers (Rotary Phone) to make it a green shade.  Next, I added my title in some woodgrain mini letter stickers by October Afternoon.  Voila!  A simple Thanksgiving card!

Let's Celebrate Card

Happy Sunday!   Today I am sharing a card that I created for Thanksgiving.

I used the Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch #307 with Insert A to punch the tulip design on the base of the card and on the corner of the stamped sentiment

and I also used Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch #311 Insert B to punch the four corners of the plaid patterned paper.

Practical Scrappers September Card Sketch

For my card I took the sketch quite literally and got busy cutting out some diecuts with my Silhouette Cameo and used some twine, washi tape and letter stickers.  I then took the apple diecut and adhered sequins to it and then used my sewing machine to stitch around the front edge of the card.

I hope you are inspired to try a card today.  I don't consider myself a card maker, but I tried to think of it as a "mini layout".  I think it turned out pretty good if I say so myself.

A Card To Share...

Happy New Year!  I hope you have a wonderful, happy, healthy, prosperous new year.

I was asked a while back if I would create a card for someone on the other end of the globe who is battling cancer and although I am not a card maker, I felt the need to encourage someone. Apparently, the card recipient loves shoes and I thought I would create a girly card with a shoe.

I used my sewing machine and stitched around the edge of the pink paper.  My stitching is a little crooked I see. LOL.  I then used my Silhouette Cameo and cut out a shoe design and a delicate doily design.  I then added some bling and a sheer ribbon around the heel.

Finally, I created an envelope with coordinating papers from the same collection and used my Scor-Pal and here it is!

It feels good to create for someone that needs a little boost.  Maybe in the new year I will make more cards to brighten someone's day and use up my scraps from my layouts.
