Enjoy The Moment

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout that I created with some cut files from Just Nick Digital Cut Files.  Yesterday was National Sibling Day and I thought of my older kiddos and how Brandon and Shannon have always been very close.

For my bold, black title, I cut out the Enjoy The Moment cut file five times on black card stock with my Silhouette Cameo, stacked them and glued them together.

 With my well used 1 1/2 inch circle paper punch, I punched out several circles of various patterned papers. I love circles! This particular technique was inspired by a class that Nicole Nowosad taught at Crop & Create Calgary, which I was fortunate to attend and had the privilege to assist in her classes. It's always great to meet online friends in person!

I also used the File Folders cut file to create a tab for the top left hand corner of the page and also one behind the large felt flower. These are also from the Just Nick shop.  

This is the dimension I was mentioning on the title earlier.  

I had fun creating this layout. It was good to use up some scraps of old papers from the Amy Tangerine Rise And Shine Collection, my cute pink We R Typecast Typewriter to add the typed journaling and whenever I can, I like to add a flair button or two to my layouts from A Flair For Buttons.

Make A Splash

Hello friends. Today I am sharing this summer layout at A Flair For Buttons of my youngest son having some pool fun on a summer vacation a few years back.

I love creating layouts with circle elements and sometimes I challenge myself to use as many circle elements as I can.

I cut the beach ball die cut (from Just Nick Digital Cut Files) out on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with patterned papers from several Bella Blvd. Collections. I added some coordinating sequins and enamel dots.  I love the way the flair buttons finish the layout perfectly.  I also added a bow, some vellum and doilies to the top and bottom of the layout and lots of machine stitching.

Using Circle Punches On A Layout

Hello friends! About a week or so ago it was the April kit reveal at My Creative Scrapbook and I had promised a tutorial on how I created one of my layouts with the April Creative Kit so here it is.  Get ready to put your circle and scalloped paper punches to work.

Kit Supplies

Snap Cards
Yellow Polka Dot Patterned Paper (For paper strips and matting the photos)
Butterfly Paper (handcut a green, yellow, aqua and pink butterflies)
Stickers (Spring Banner, Bloom Where You Are Planted, It's A Beautiful Day Today! and Butterfly Circles)

Additional Supplies

12X12 sheet of white textured cardstock
Adhesive - tape runner and dimensional foam dots or squares
Craft Paint Or Mist (I used Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Mustard Yellow)
Paper Trimmer
Pencil
Ruler
Scissors
Circle Paper Punches (in a variety of sizes if possible)
Scalloped Circle Paper Punches (in a variety of sizes if possible)
Collage Maker For Photos (I used Turbo Collage on my iphone, but any collage maker will do)

Instructions

Cut the yellow polka dot paper in strips with a paper trimmer and adhere to top and bottom edge of the 12X12 sheet of white textured cardstock.

Add paint or mist splatters to the top left, top right and bottom left of white cardstock as shown. Be sure paint or mist is dry before moving to the next step.

With the Snap Cards, which are included in the kit, select several colors and sizes of snap cards.

Punch the selected Snap Cards with circle paper punches and scalloped circle punches.

Using the pencil and ruler, draw pencil lines across the 12X12 sheet of white cardstock as shown.

Hand cut the punched paper circles in half with scissors.

Arrange the paper circles, that are cut in half,  flush along the pencil lines being sure to overlap and alternate colors.

When you are satisfied with the placement, adhere the paper circles down with adhesive and if you would like, add some dimensional foam dots or squares to the backside of some of the circles to give more dimension.

Create photo collage and print.

Mat photo collage with yellow polka dot paper and adhere to the page using dimensional foam dots or squares.  Make sure that the matted photo collage is beside the punched paper circles as shown.

Fussy cut the four butterflies and adhere to the page with foam dots or squares.

Add circle butterfly stickers to the page with foam dots or squares

Add Spring Sticker Banner to the page as shown and also the other stickers as shown.

Your layout is complete.

Hello Lovely Layout

Hello lovely friends and followers! Today I wanted to share my fourth and final layout with the April Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I am really into circles these days so I used my circle paper punches in various sizes as well as my heart paper punch.

I cut 9 large circles and stacked them with 9 slightly smaller circles.  I added some journaling to the bottom right. 

and added some paper punched hearts that I popped up with foam squares.

I added the colorful letter stickers over a paper sticker strip .

The doily and bow give the layout a more feminine look.

Finally I added the stickers for the word "Hello"

Us Layout

Hello friends! Today I'm on the A Flair For Buttons blog sharing this layout that I created with the Bella Blvd. Color Chaos Collection.  



I love creating layouts with circles and adding flair buttons to give the layout a cohesive look.  For this layout, I created it with a circle paper punch, some stickers and of course some flair from A Flair For Buttons.

I added two heart flair buttons from the Just Hearts 1 Flair Set,  and the "Just Us" flair button from the Family Is Forever Flair Set.   One can not have too many heart flair buttons.

Wild Child Layout

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good weekend.  I know I am enjoying the last day of summer.  Officially in my home it is the last day of summer vacation as my youngest son goes back to school tomorrow.  It was a really hot summer and also smoky with all the forest fires but I must say I really enjoyed it.  Enough about that.

I wanted to share a layout I created for the August 28 Scrap And Chat Challenge over at Paper Issues.  It was so much fun to hang out with a fun bunch of ladies on Friday night.  They are all so upbeat and it was a great way to unwind after a crazy busy week.  For the challenge I used paint, patterned paper, sequins and journaling.  Here is the layout I came up with for the challenge:

I am really on a paper punching kick at the moment and using 6X6 paper pads.  This one was in my stash and it is the Simple Stories Hello Baby Collection.

When my family gets together, we play board games or play cards so I searched my paper stash and found some great papers from the Carta Bella's Well Played Collection from 2013.  It is such a strong high quality paper that is perfect to hand stitch on because it doesn't bend easily.  I also used four colors of DMC embroidery floss and stitched around several of the circle elements.  All the circles were created with a various sizes of circle paper punches including the photos.  To add to the circle theme, flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons were added to as well as some mist splatters, sequins and enamel dots.  The layout was inspired by a sketch designed by Allison Davis.
