Friends Are The Family We Choose Card

Hello friends!  Happy Thursday!   Today I am up at Susan K. Weckesser and I wanted to share an extra special card I created with Susan K. Weckesser's amazing stamps and papers to give to a dear friend of mine.

I just LOVE The Happy Homestead Stamps.

I first stamped the house stamp with black archival ink onto white card stock and then "painted" it with some mists to coordinate with Susan's Live In Color Collection of patterned papers.

After it was colored and stamped, I popped it up on the card with some pop dots.  I then stamped the word "family" onto white card stock, cut the letters out separately and adhered it to the card.  I fussy cut the sun and adhered some yellow twine and placed a large sequin  in the center of the twine and adhered it to the card.

Right now I am loving the sequin trend so I wanted to give a little more texture and dimension to the house roof so I adhered some pink sequins to the roof.

Finally I fussy cut a cloud, flowers, grass and a bird out of the Live In Color Collection of patterned papers and adhered them to the card and used some tiny letter stickers to finish the title.

I am happy how this came together.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a card for a friend. Have a great day!

Create To Live Layout

Happy Tuesday!  Today I wanted to share a layout that I created of why I love to create.  It truly is a part of me to do something creative just about everyday or else I feel something is missing.  I used the lovely Live In Color Paper Collection by Susan K. Weckesser and also fussy cut some of the designs from the paper such as the clouds, kite, flowers and title.  I also used a Faber Castell Pitt Big Brush Pen and a Susan K. Weckesser stencil to add some faux stitching and also Susan's A Little Grunge Love Stamps.

I also misted my die cut title that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo and added some paint splatters and some misted spots so that the journaling would be easier to see.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout on why you love to create.  Sometimes selfies are therapeutic. Have a lovely day!

Vellum Heart Card

Hello! Happy Sunday! Today I wanted to share a card that I created with the Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch #905.

For this card I punched the corners of the floral paper and diecut a heart from white cardstock and punched hearts from different colored cardstock and adhered them to the diecut heart.  I then placed a sheet of vellum on top and machine stitched around the heart.  I then placed some additional punched hearts on the outside of the vellum heart and inside some of the sequins.

Bee Mine Layout

Happy Saturday!  Today at Stuck?! Sketches is the reveal for the February 15 sketch created by an amazing lady and friend Laura Whitaker

For my layout I rotated the sketch and used only one photo.

This is Hanna.  She is known by the nickname "Hanna Bee".  She is my daughter's niece and I wanted to scrap this adorable little girl and her big blue eyes.  This layout was created with the Be Loved Collection by Fancy Pants as well asa some crocheted hearts by Bella Blvd., some paint splatters with Heidi Swapp's Colorshine Collection of mists.

I also cut some vellum hearts with my Silhouette Cameo.  I love the way it cuts vellum like butter.

Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure to check out the entire design team's take on Laura's sketch here and link up this month for a chance to win a great prize.  Happy scrapping!

Practical Scrappers Blog Hop - Scrapping Our Stash

Happy Valentine's Day!  Today at Practical Scrappers the design team is having a blog hop and we are scrapping our stash to the theme of love.  You are at the end of the hop and should have arrived here from the blog of talented Wendy Coffman, but if not you can start at Practical Scrapper's blog.  I created a layout of my hubby and I on our 14th wedding anniversary.

I used Fancy Pants Be Loved Collection of papers and stickers for this layout and cut some hearts out of the corrugated paper.

Scrapbooker's Paradise Challenge #10

Happy Friday and Happy Valentine's Day!  Today at Scrapbooker's Paradise Design Team Member Linda Pekrul is hosting Challenge #10 and the design team and everyone can play along.  The challenge is to create a layout, card or altered item using at least 5 of the following:  doily, flowers, ribbon, charm, pearls or other bling, stick pins, stickers, chipboard, die cuts, buttons or brads.  For my layout I used flowers, buttons, die cuts, ribbon, pearls, sequins, and stickers.  Since it's Valetine's Day, I wanted to create a romantic layout of my daughter and son in law on their wedding day.  I used the Kaisercraft Key To My Heart Collection of patterned papers, stickers, and die cuts.

On a white piece of card stock, I cut out a large heart design with my Silhouette Cameo and used some ribbon to lace the heart.  Then I added some sequins to the heart and backed it on the red polka dot patterned paper.

I also cut some vellum heart shapes and layered with some die cuts, Prima flowers and a button.  The flowers were painted with distress paint or misted.

I hope you are inspired to join our challenge at Scrapbooker's Paradise.  All the details are on the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog.

Thanks for stopping by!

Asia I Love You Layout

Happy Sunday!  Today at Kreaxions it's the design team reveal and the theme for February is "love".  For my reveal, I created a layout of Asia, my family's kitty that we had for twelve years.  She passed away last September and I promised my son I would create a layout of her.

I used Kreaxions Punch #905 for the vellum border on the top of the photo and also the photo corners which are difficult to see.  I love the softness of vellum and love to use it a lot on my layouts.

I wanted to give the layout a "love" theme so I used Fancy Pants "Be Loved" Collection for the papers and stickers and added a feather for softness and painted with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine Mist in Mint Green for a pop of color to the otherwise pastel color palette.

Thanks for stopping by the entire design team reveal is on the Just Imagine Crafts blog here. Have a great day!
