A Perfect Day

Today the sun was shining and my mom and I had a nice little date to go for lunch and do some shopping.  Crate and Barrel is a nice store with tons of cool items for the home.   I treated myself to some goodies for spring.  It gave me lots of decorating ideas for my scraproom too.  I am loving the orange, yellow, turquoise, pale pink, purple and lime green colors that lots of the dishes come in.

I bought some cute, colorful ice cream bowls and some nice kitchen towels that scream spring.

On the way home I saw these gorgeous flowers and thought it would be a nice way to finish off the day.

A Prize

It is so exciting to get something good in the mail.  This came in the mail today and I am going to put it to some very good use.

There are several different scrapbook adhesives and I am very fond of the 3D Foam Squares and the E-Z Runner and E-Z Dots.  It will be great to try the Craft & Photo Tape and Adhesive Sheets.

Every month Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine has a contest called "Hands On Photography" that I like to enter because of the challenge and also to win some great prizes.

Beautiful Bride

Here is a layout I did on my daughter as she was getting ready for the wedding ceremony.  It has been almost a year since her wedding and I am finally getting the album finished to give to her for her first wedding anniversary.  This layout was made with Fancy Pants "Wishful Thinking" collection.

Pets Are Precious

Today I took my cat to the vet as I have noticed she just doesn't seem her perky self.  She is about 11 years old and we got her from the SPCA when she was approximately two years old.  The SPCA where we got her doesn't euthanize cats or dogs so sometimes animals have been known to stay there for two years or so.  Our cat Asia, was in the shelter for 5 months and she definitely has issues.  She really only likes my son, my husband and I.

Asia had a checkup and a blood test and we found out that she has a kidney disease.  Kidney disease is quite common in older cats and there is no cure, but if caught early, there are medications and food that can prolong their life and make her more comfortable.   The poor thing was so stressed today that it took two people to hold her down to get a blood sample.  She has little areas shaved all over.

Asia is  such a part of our life and I have many photos and layouts of her over the years.  My son adores her and never goes to school without her sending him off and greeting him when he returns.

Here are some photos and layouts of my sweet cat Asia:

So there you have it.  She is a huge part of our family and we love her.

Come On Spring! Where Are You?

I discovered a new site that is going to be great.  It is www.wescrap.com/
It should be fun hanging out with these ladies and socializing and doing some scrapbooking challenges.

This has been quite the year for weather.  Winter keeps on and on.  I know I shouldn't complain as there are so many other places that are having earthquakes and floods.

Yesterday was a very frosty day and I captured some photos in the park.  It was "prickly frost".  I like hoar frost, but not when it is the end of March.

Spruce tree with plenty of "prickles"

Chain link fence
Every snowflake is truly unique
Birdhouse
Bird Nest

So I am settling for buying flowers and taking photos of them until the spring finally, truly arrives.

Hope you find spring where you live and if you do it will bring a spring to your step I'm sure.  Have a wonderful day!

Something To Share

A little something I wanted to share today on my blog.  It really spoke to me:

Dear Brave Girl,

We always have at least 2 choices in each moment...and these are 2 of the most important choices we will ever make, even if 2 is a tiny number.

We can always choose to LOOK FOR WHAT IS RIGHT...or we can choose to look for WHAT IS WRONG. Can you see what a marvelous and compelling difference there is in these 2 perspectives? One of them builds up relationships, brings hope and creates new ideas and joy. The other tears down confidence, feeds fear, keeps us stuck and makes us feel miserable.

Try it, dear friend. Just try it, especially if you feel stuck in a situation or relationship that feels all wrong. Just look for something that is right inside of it. There are ALWAYS gifts to be found in everything, even if those gifts are simply the lessons that we learn from difficult situations and people.

And one of the most beautiful and light-filled things you can do when you are faced with a difficult human being, is to go to the ends of the earth to find something beautiful and true and right about that person, and then do everything you can to SHOW that person what is right about them, instead of reminding them of what is "wrong". This experience will change both of your lives.

Miracles truly can happen when we focus on what is right and do our best to just learn from what is wrong.

You can do it. You are so amazing. And you are so loved.

xoxo

Another Wedding Layout

Fancy Pants Designs is one manufacturer of scrapbooking papers that I love to work with.  They seem to be suitable to my scrapbooking style.

Here is a photo that I had not scrapped.  I was going to put it in a collage, but decided to make a layout instead.  Thanks for checking out my blog and have a super duper scrap happy day!

My Collage Is Getting Published!

The collage/frame I made with photos of my daughter's wedding is getting published!

I don't have any words to say on how flattered I am and I am totally grateful for this opportunity.  I don't like boasting, because it isn't right, but I thank God every day for giving me the opportunity to create.  I always have him in mind when I scrapbook.  He brings me so much joy and happiness and I hope it exudes in my scrapbooking and photography.  He knows my heart and knows that he always comes first in my books and then my family and friends.

Here is hoping you all have a wonderful day!

Practicing With My Macro

Spring is a long time coming up here in Canada and it is a season of new beginnings.  It's also my favorite season of the year.  We definitely have true seasons here and I try to embrace each and every one.

For now, all I can do is take photos of my houseplants as it is snowing outside.  Here are some I took today with my Canon 100 mm macro lens:
