Creative Embellishments October Challenge

Happy Wednesday!  Today I am excited to share my first design team project for Creative Embellishments with all of you.  For the October Challenge, the design team was asked to create a project and the twist was "distress".  I was inspired by the photo below to create a Fall layout and I used several distress inks to create my layout.

I just love all the fall themed chipboard and used four different sets of chipboard for this layout.  I used Wheat Set No. 2, The Twig Frame With Fall Leaves, The title from The Autumn Leaves Set,  and The Autumn Leaves (Set Of 6).

I also used several distress inks, paints and stains on my background and stamping as well as the leaves, frame and title.

I hoped you enjoyed my layout.  All the chipboard as well as many items can be found in the Creative Embellishments Store here.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a creative week!

Fall Days Layout For The Cut Shoppe

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Today I am up at The Cut Shoppe and now that it is the beginning of Fall, I thought I would create a Fall layout of this handsome little cutie who is my daughter's nephew.

I used the Free Falling Cut Files to create the title of my layout, the leaves and the trees behind the journaling tag.  I love all the texture these cut files give the layout.  I also used some stickers and patterned paper from the Indian Summer Collection by We R Memory Keepers and flair from A Flair For Buttons.  To add a little more depth to the background paper, I used several stencils and some distress inks to give more interest.  Below are a few closeups…

Here is the cut file I used from The Cut Shoppe

I hope you are inspired with my Fall layout.  Thanks for stopping by and check out all the amazing digital cut files in The Cut Shoppe here.

Untamed Monster In Training Layout

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great day!

Today I wanted to share a layout I created of this handsome little guy who always makes me smile.  I love all of Fancy Pants Designs Collections and for this particular layout, I put the Be Different Collection to good use.  I love this awesome sketch designed by Jenny Evans,  and I especially love sketches with paper strips because I can use leftover papers in my scraps and make my paper collections go further.  I stayed pretty true to the sketch and just placed the middle photo to the right hand side of the layout.

I love the cute monsters in this collection and also love star shapes as embellishments.  They are great for masculine layouts.  I also cut a star design from The Counting Stars Cut File from The Cut Shoppe on my Silhouette Cameo with the Fancy Pants foil paper, and then hand cut only a few of the stars and backed the middle of the stars with patterned paper and then added some stickers and buttons.  The foil paper cuts like butter on my Cameo. Also, I really love the corrugated paper that comes in many of the Fancy Pants Collections and added it to the background of my layout for more texture and dimension.  Sometimes I like to use it as photo mats too.

I hope you enjoyed my layout.  It was so much fun to do.  Thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to create!

A Layout For The September Sketchy Challenge At Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine

Happy Saturday!  I hope you are having a great weekend so far.  I thought I would share a layout that I created today with the September 2014 Sketch over at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

It's no secret that I am very passionate about animals and I love photographing wildlife and animals almost as much as landscapes.  At my local zoo, there is an annual photography walkabout for adult amateur photographers and I attended one and plan to attend more.  The zoo is open for two hours before the public are admitted and it's a perfect time to get some photos of the animals feeding.  My favorite animal to photograph was the wild cats, especially the tiger cubs.

Here is the sketch designed by Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's Sue Sykes.

For the sketch, I reversed it and printed my small photos as a collage in Turbo Collage and then die cut the square background on my Silhouette Cameo and then adhered the photos to the back of the square background.  I added a die cut for my title and die cut a zoo border.  The paper collection I created with is Indian Summer by We R Memory Keepers.  I love that it can be used for different themes other than Fall.  The leather look patterned paper looks rustic and I thought it was appropriate for a "wildlife feel".

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a wonderful day!

Hello scrappy friends!  It's been a little crazy around my home as my husband has had surgery and we are all getting used to the new routine.  Today is the reveal of the September sketch over at My Creative Scrapbook and here is my layout that I created with the lovely sketch designed by Liz Chidester.

and here are some detailed closeups

My niece loves her horse and loves competing in rodeo events so I created this layout featuring her and one of her special accomplishments.  I used the Archived Collection from We R Memory Keepers and stayed true to the sketch.

Here is the sketch

I hope you find some time to play along with the sketch.  You have an entire month to upload your take on the sketch over at My Creative Sketches for a chance to win an amazing prize from My Creative Scrapbook.  Have a great day!
