Hello friends! Glad you stopped by! Today I'm excited to share My Creative Scrapbook's October 2017 kits.

Aren't they great? I love the warm, rich autumn tones in all the kits. I designed six layouts with the October Creative Kit, which consists of beautiful patterned papers and embellishments from the Echo Park Paper's Hello Fall Collection as well as a nice little 6X6 designer stencil, some coordinating ribbons  and a bottle of Heidi Swapp Colorshine.

Here is one of my layouts that I created using the stencil and mist.

I added a border with the stencil and dabbed some distress ink and went around the entire edge of a piece of creme cardstock from my stash and added some paper strips as my base and then went crazy with lots of stickers and cardstock stickers keeping the photos of my dog Syd in the middle of the layout. To complete my layout, I added some splatters with the Heidi Swapp Colorshine mist and journaled with a fine line black pen. Here are some closeups of my layout.

I shared the layout below on my blog post with the sneak peeks on October 3. It was my favorite layout from the kit. These two cuties have my heart and their mom was gracious to send me the photo to scrapbook this.

Be sure and check out what the My Creative Scrapbook design team created with all four of the October kits. It will knock your socks off. So many talented ladies! Click here to go to the design team gallery and then reserve your kits.

Have a great day!

My Cat Sheldon Layout

Hello friends! Happy Saturday! Today I wanted to share a layout of my fur baby Sheldon for A Flair For Buttons.  He was rescued from a shelter and was in very poor health but my husband and I loved his personality so we took a chance and adopted him and nursed him back to health.  He is one funny cat.

These and many more flair buttons are available to purchase in the A Flair For Buttons store now.

I also used some cut files from Just Nick Digital Cut Files for the title and the photo mat that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The papers are from the new Simple Stories So Rad Collection.

Have a wonderful day!

Brothers Forever Layout

Happy Saturday!  Last night I was looking on Pinterest and I was totally inspired by a layout I saw of the amazingly talented and sweet Paige Evans.  I thought I would give it a try and this layout proves  that a person doesn't need to throw out those tiny strips of paper they have laying around.

I must admit this is a labor intensive layout but I am so happy how it turned out.  The photo is of my two sons at a local amusement park two summers ago.  My oldest son is 30 and my youngest son is 15 so my youngest looks up to his older brother as an example and a mentor.  I love it.

I used the new So Rad Collection by Simple Stories and this is the fourth layout with this collection and I had lots of scraps of paper so this type of layout is perfect to use up those scraps.

Of course my favorite embellishment is flair buttons so I added one from A Flair For Buttons.

I used my Silhouette Cameo and a cut file from the Silhouette Online Store to cut out the large stars in the white card stock and the smaller orange stars.  I used my sewing machine to stitch around the larger stars on the white card stock.

Jillibean Soup has some wonderful wood buttons so I added those to the center of the orange stars.

Finally I added some Jillibean Soup little star enamel embellishments and some Heidi Swapp Colorshine "Tea" mist splatters.  I felt the orange stars needed a little more pop so I got out my black pen and added some faux stitching.

This took up my evening last night but I always am happy to share my layouts with my sons and show them how special they are to me.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have an awesome day!

Autumn Layout

Hello friends! Today I am sharing an autumn layout over at the A Flair For Buttons Blog that  I created with flair buttons, a square paper punch, some patterned paper scraps and some embroidery floss.  This layout was inspired by Paige Evans.

I inked my white card stock background with some Tim Holtz Wild Honey Distress Ink and then used my one inch square paper punch and punched several squares from a 6X6 paper pad of Doodlebug Designs Friendly Forest patterned papers.  Since the patterns are busy, I thought it would be better to use the 6X6 paper pad as the prints are smaller.  It's a great way to use paper pads!  I arranged them in heart shapes and hand stitched around the hearts in some brown DMC Embroidery Floss.

Next I cut the "Autumn" title on my Silhouette Cameo.  The cut file is created from Kerri Bradford Studio.

I used 2 different flair button sets for my layout and arranged them in a triangle to draw the eye around the layout.  I used flair from two sets in the A Flair For Buttons Shop.

A Layout Published in Scrapbook And Cards Today

Hello friends! Today I am so honoured and excited to share that I have my first layout published in the Winter 2014 Issue of Scrapbook And Cards Today! The layout I created is of this handsome little guy.  My good friend Stephanie Kuzio snapped these beautiful photos.  The full page layout can be found on Page 67.

I used an Echo Park Paper Collection called Keepin' Cozy for the patterned papers and stickers and cut the snowflake frame and the title (from the Silhouette America Online Store) on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and then "painted" the title with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine Mist and also some splatters.  Finally I added some wood embellishments.  This layout was inspired by a sketch designed by Kristine Davidson.

The Scrapbook And Cards Today Winter 2014 Magazine can be downloaded here.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Cat Pumpkins Layout

Happy Saturday friends! Today I would like to share a layout I created with the Fancy Pants Designs True Friends Collection.  I thought the colours were perfect for my cat halloween pumpkin that I carved.

I found this cute pumpkin cut file online and I really can't remember who shared it, but thank you! The pumpkins title is a free cut file from Kerri Bradford.  I cut the pumpkin shape and the title from my Silhouette Cameo.  I then added several strips of patterned paper behind the pumpkin die cut, matted the photos, splattered some mist for interest and added some flair, stickers and a wood embellishment and then matted the layout on a piece of corrugated paper.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a great day!

Supplies

Corrugated Paper - Fancy Pants Designs
Diecutting Machine - Silhouette Cameo
Flair - A Flair For Buttons
Mists - Heidi Swapp
Patterned Papers - Fancy Pants Designs (True Friends Collection)

My Creative Scrapbook Sketch For September

Hello scrappy friends!  It's been a little crazy around my home as my husband has had surgery and we are all getting used to the new routine.  Today is the reveal of the September sketch over at My Creative Scrapbook and here is my layout that I created with the lovely sketch designed by Liz Chidester.

and here are some detailed closeups

My niece loves her horse and loves competing in rodeo events so I created this layout featuring her and one of her special accomplishments.  I used the Archived Collection from We R Memory Keepers and stayed true to the sketch.

Here is the sketch

I hope you find some time to play along with the sketch.  You have an entire month to upload your take on the sketch over at My Creative Sketches for a chance to win an amazing prize from My Creative Scrapbook.  Have a great day!

Practical Scrappers August Blog Hop

Hello friends! Happy Friday!  You should have arrived here from Kerri's blog but if not you can start at the beginning.

Today is also the last Friday of the month and that means it's the monthly use our stash blog hop at Practical Scrappers.  For this month the theme is "anything goes" and I pulled out some papers that have been in my stash for two years that I have been hoarding.  I love all of Fancy Pants Designs paper collections and I'm pretty sure I have most of their collections.  This one is the Trendsetter Collection.

For my layout I added some clear gesso to the white card stock and "painted" on some mist.  I love stars on masculine layouts so I thought I would add a star die cut background from The Cut Shoppe and add random pieces of patterned paper to the middle of each star.  I then added some mist splatters and some wood stars and some handwritten journaling and a flair button that I had in my stash.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and now it's time to hop over to Marcia's blog.

Have a great Labor Day Weekend!
