Two Day Getaway

Rick and I had a two day getaway. It was wonderful! There was no cooking, cleaning, laundry for two days. It was so nice to reconnect and just relax.

My sister-in-law Pam,  took care of Clayton and it was so appreciated.  Rick and I haven't had a weekend alone since Clay was a baby.  Thanks so much Pam!  Clayton had a great time with you and Laine and Dylan.

Our first stop was to Canmore for lunch.  Tripadvisor to the rescue!  We found this awesome pub that is rated top 100 pubs in the world!  We don't drink, but we always like the pub food.  The Thai Noodle Salad and their burgers were recommended:

We went to Radium Hot Springs B.C. which I hadn't been to for several years.  We found a gem of a place to stay.  We chose a One Bedroom Suite at the Bighorn Meadows Resort.  It had a a full kitchen that included all the dishes, cutlery, toaster, stemware, pots and pans, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge with ice maker and also a washer and dryer.

This would be a great place to buy as it is good for people who like to golf and ski or have a family get-together.  It is something we would like to consider investing in.

We went to another pub in Invermere and although Rick and I don't really drink alcoholic beverages, we like eating at pubs because usually their food is pretty tasty.  The weather was cold and rainy, but that didn't stop us from enjoying the food and great view of Lake Windermere:

After lunch, we decided to check out the cabin that I used to spend many childhood summers at my cousin's cabin at Lake Windermere:

Dinner that night was at the Black Forest Inn.  What a great place to go for Austrian cuisine.  Their specialty is Weiner Schnitzel

After dinner, we had dessert.  As you can see we shouldn't eat dessert, but couldn't pass it up as it is made in the restaurant.  Black Forest Cake is Rick's favorite cake and I had the Apple Strudel.  My austrian grandma made awesome Apple Strudel too:

After dinner, the sun was going down, but it was time to have some fun and take some goofy photos:

We used a tripod, a shutter release, that I held, and used fill flash to take these.  It was too dark outside to get a good shot of the valley and it was COLD.

Sunday was here and the sun started to shine.  It seems to always happen the day a person has to go back home!

Breakfast is my favorite meal in a restaurant and other than Cora's, I really don't go out to restaurants much for breakfast.

There is a restaurant in Invermere, which is owned by friends of the family.  They serve a mean omelet .

One of the things that is really fun is to shop at different scrapbook stores.  Invermere has a cute store named Scrappy Do's.
Scrappy Do's Scrapbook Supplies (Invermere, B.C.)
Love This!

It had lots of fun little goodies that I hadn't seen before. There was lots of horse themed patterned paper, which I plan on using for layouts of my niece and her horse and seven new colors of Stickles of which I bought every new color.

I also bought these Sew Easy Stitch Piercers in zig zag, blanket, and hem stitches.  They will be fun!

Our little second honeymoon getaway was wonderful.   Can't wait to go back...
