Friends Forever

Hello everyone! I'm sharing this layout on the A Flair For Buttons blog today of my two oldest kiddos that are now all grown up, but I still smile when I look at these two when they were little. They were best buds then and they still are now.

For this layout I used the flair buttons from the Happy Flair set and the Just Hearts 2 Flair set. and added one to the top left hand corner and the bottom right hand corner of my layout.  One of my favorite layout designs is the diagonal design.

I used a funky cut file background (Quilted Background) from Just Nick Digital Cut Files that I cut out on white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some plaid papers from Lawn Fawn's Perfectly Plaid Collection.

I added the foam words "friends and forever" for the title.

I dug deep in my stash and found some enamel dots, wood veneers and some ephemera from Elle's Studio.

I thought the pastel colors went well with the page as my children were babies really.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Have a lovely day!

Faith Hope Joy Card

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a simple card over at Paper House Productions.  I designed this card with the Atlantis Colorways Collection.  I love the beautiful colors and graphics in this collection.

Supply List
For this card I chose the striped side of the Atlantis Trim Cards 12" Colorways Scrapbook Paper  and with my sewing machine I stitched around the edge with some white thread and adhered it to the white cardstock.

Using the other side of the Atlantis Trim Cards 12" Colorways Scrapbook Paper, I took some scissors and cut out the small square designs and traced them with a die cut shape that I had from a cut file (Quilted Background) from Just Nick Digital Cut Files. Once they were traced, I cut the squares out with scissors.

I adhered the square designs onto the striped paper and then added the words "Faith, Hope, and Joy".

I hope you enjoyed my card.  Be sure and check out all the beautiful products at Paper House Productions.

Happy creating!

Just Nick/Creative Scrappers Team Up

Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a travel layout of my son and daughter in law on their trip to Europe for the Just Nick Digital Cut Files and Creative Scrappers team up.  What a combination! Two of my favorite things are cut files and sketches.

First I cut out the Chopstick Background from Just Nick with my Silhouette Cameo and used the Sketch #296 from Creative Scrappers.  The papers from the Carta Bella Travel Stories worked perfectly with this cut file.  I like the way the words peeked through.

I also added some stickers from the Travel Stories Collection, some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons, some paint splatters and finally some enamel dots.

To make the journaling more interesting,  I thought adding some mini alpha stickers along with my handwriting would do the trick.

Here is the Chopsticks Background cut file.

You can download the cut file FREE HERE until July 31 just be sure and use the code  CSFREE  at checkout. Also, if you link up the layout that you create with both the cut file and the sketch at Creative Scrappers you have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Just Nick.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun creating!

Make A Splash

Hello friends. Today I am sharing this summer layout at A Flair For Buttons of my youngest son having some pool fun on a summer vacation a few years back.

I love creating layouts with circle elements and sometimes I challenge myself to use as many circle elements as I can.

I cut the beach ball die cut (from Just Nick Digital Cut Files) out on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with patterned papers from several Bella Blvd. Collections. I added some coordinating sequins and enamel dots.  I love the way the flair buttons finish the layout perfectly.  I also added a bow, some vellum and doilies to the top and bottom of the layout and lots of machine stitching.

I used flair from the Hello Summer Flair

and the Summer 3 Flair

For my layout, I used the Discover The World 12X12 sheet of patterned paper and added a die cut title from Just Nick Digital Cut Files and stitched it down with my sewing machine.  I matted the photos with the Discover Words 12X12 paper and then added some Cameras Puffy Stickers and Travel Cardstock Stickers.

To complete the layout, I added some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons, alphabet stickers and splatters of Heidi Swapp Colorshine in navy blue.

Make Your Own Sunshine

Hello friends! Yesterday I blogged about the new design team announcement at Just Nick Digital Cut Files and for the two weeks or so, each design team member will be sharing a layout to introduce themselves.  Here is my layout:

Flowers are one of my favorite things and I was inspired to create a layout with the Doodle Daisy Background.

I painted the white cardstock background with Gelatos, which are creamy tubes of color that remind me of a lipstick tube.  They come in several colors and can be used as is or with water to give a watercolor effect.  For my layout I used a paintbrush, water and three colors of Gelatos.  I then proceeded to add some splatters of Heidi Swapp Colorshine in navy.

After the background was dry, I cut out the Doodle Daisy Background on another piece of white cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo and then backed each negative shaped petal with some pretty plaid papers from a 6X6 paper pad of Perfectly Plaid papers from Lawn Fawn.  For the solid shaped flower petals, I colored the petals with a Gelato and smudged it with my finger.  I didn't have to use water with this technique.

To embellish the flowers, I added enamel dots, chipboard pieces or a flair button.

Here is the fabulous cut file I used for my layout.

Be sure and check out all the cut files in the shop because from now until July 4 you can get them for 30% off and there are hundreds to choose from.  Simply use the code July30 at checkout.

Have a great day!
