Published In The Summer 2014 Issue Of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!

If you are looking for the Practical Scrappers May Blog Hop, please go here.

Happy Saturday friends!  Today I wanted to share some happy news.  I have a layout that is published in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine's Summer 2014 issue! This issue should be in Canadian news stands June 1.

There is something about being published in a printed magazine that is special.  This magazine always is full of lots of inspiration and it doesn't matter where you live, you can subscribe to it.  Here is the link to subscribe.

I also noticed that many of my scrappy friends are published in this issue too.  I love the online world of scrapbooking!  Although I have not met a lot of my online scrappy friends in person, it's like I already know them as we share our lives and creations on a day to day basis and there is this camaraderie that is special.  Being on several design teams, both on a Canadian level and international level has built many special friendships.  It's an amazing feeling to inspire others and be inspired.

The layout that I have published in this issue is on Page 34 of my Dad, who is a kindhearted, gentle guy and a man of integrity.

I snapped this photo on a whim as my parents do not like getting their photos taken and I love it because it's natural and not posed.  Father's Day is coming up and I was happy that I could honour him by being published.

Thanks Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine and especially Jackie Ludlage.  You rock!

Have a wonderful day everyone! I hope you can do something today that brings you happiness.

Practical Scrappers May Blog Hop - Use Your Stash

Happy Friday friends!  You should have arrived here from Christine's blog, but if not you can start at the beginning.  Here is the full list of the participants in the hop:

Today is the May Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop at Practical Scrappers and some of our followers are also participating.  Scrapbookers always have lots of stash and this is a perfect way to dig into the stash and create a project.  The only stipulation is that the stash used must be before the last CHA release.

For my layout below, I wanted to scrapbook my three children.  I used the Fancy Pants Designs Trendsetter Collection of patterned papers and also some twine, ribbon and wood embellishments from my stash.

Here are some more closeups of my layout

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I hope you have some time to be creative.  Next on the hop is the talented Melissa.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #268

Hello everyone!  Today I wanted to share a layout I created for a challenge at Creative Scrappers.

I love Creative Scrappers sketches and I really love Sketch #268 and had to play along.  Circles are one of my favorite things to create with on a layout.  For this layout I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out 9 circles in the white card stock and also cut out another sheet of card stock of the flower circles.  I used the Doodlebug Designs Springtime Collection of patterned papers and stickers and made each circle its own little "layout".

Here is the sketch #268 created by Jenny Evans

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to be creative.

Page Drafts "One Of A Kind Challenge" Sketch Challenge

Hello friends! It's been a while since I have blogged.  Eight days is a lot for me to not post something on my blog.  It has been very busy lately but I did have time last weekend at a retreat to create a layout for the Page Drafts "One Of A Kind Challenge" for Sketch 30.1 from the Page Drafts #30 Release.

Here is the sketch that I created from.  It is pretty true to this sketch,  but I didn't include the banner.

I used the Close To My Heart "Skylark" Collection for the papers, the stamp and most of the embellishments on this page.

Thanks for stopping by and have a lovely day!

My Creative Sketches May Sketch

Hello blog readers!  I hope you are doing well.  Today it's design team reveal day and the May sketch reveal at My Creative Sketches.

For this layout, I stayed true to the sketch and did a very basic layout.  This photo was taken three years ago when my son and I took my husband out for dinner for Father's Day.  I love this photo and had to laugh because my son said his dad's hair looks like Elvis.  Out of the mouth of babes.

I used the Homespun Collection by Simple Stories for the papers and stickers and my Silhouette Cameo to cut the title and the tag that I have hidden journaling on.  I have been hoarding the flair buttons, from A Flair For Buttons for a while and thought that this layout was perfect for them.  I love the chalkboard look of them.

Here is the lovely sketch designed by Liz Chidester.

I hope you are inspired to join us at My Creative Sketches and upload your layout to the linky here and play along for an amazing prize from My Creative Scrapbook.  Check out this amazing prize from My Creative Scrapbook.   The deadline to link up your layout is June 14 and the winner will be announced June 15.

Thanks for stopping by!  I am looking forward to seeing your creations.  Have a great day!

Mother's Day Card

Hello everyone!  Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.

DIY Watercolour  Mother's Day Card
What does a scrappy mom do when she has Mother's Day to do whatever she wants?  Makes a card for her mother of course!  This card was created using my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the design and then I add a watercolour effect to the background by cutting out a separate piece of white card stock and painting with watercolours.  All the details on how I made this card are on the Silhouette America blog here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day doing what you love!

My Layout Was Featured At Scrapbook.com This Week!

Hello everyone!  Wow! Two happy blog posts in the same day!

I can't tell you how excited I am to have my layout in the new weekly blog feature at Scrapbook.com's "10 Layouts We Love" for April 29 to May 6, 2014.  It was another pleasant surprise today.

I must say it's been a rough week for me so when I got word of this happy news, I was so happy.  I upload all my layouts to my gallery (scrapperleeanne) at Scrapbook.com.  This particular layout was created for the May Sketchy Challenge at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.

Here is the Scrapbook.com's link to my layout as well as a few other ladies.  Some of the ladies I know through this amazing online scrapbooking world or have been on design teams with.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

I Was Chosen As Design Team Pick Top 3!

Hello everyone!  I have some fun news to share.  I entered a challenge over at Scraplifting, which is a Russian scrapbooking challenge blog, to scrap lift a layout of design team member Christin Gronnslett.  I was pleasantly surprised that the design team chose my layout as top 3 for April! Here was my layout:

and here is Christin Gronnslett's layout that I scrap lifted:

I love Christin Gronnslett's style and I was so honoured to be guest designer over at My Creative Scrapbook for March and April and design with her.

Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine May Sketchy Challenge

Hello everyone!  I hope you are having a pleasant Sunday.  Today I wanted to share a layout I created for the May Sketchy Challenge at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  I love this magazine and am honoured to be published in several issues of the magazine.

As time permits, I like to challenge myself to play along with their sketch and since yesterday was National Scrapbook Day, I had some time.

The photo of this handsome little guy was taken by my friend Stephanie over at Rockwood Photography.  I used the 6X6 paper pad of My Mind's Eye Charmed Collection by Jen Allyson for the papers and outlined all the 3X3 paper squares in black pen.  I then added some spider web die cuts that I cut with my Silhouette Cameo and then added a variety of stamps, red jewels and paint splatters on the white card stock background.  I like putting a different spin on paper and for this layout I made a halloween layout with black, gold, red and white instead of the traditional orange and black.

Here is the sketch I was inspired by that was created by Sue Sykes.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a layout with this sketch.  Have a wonderful, creative day!
