Design Team Announcement At Black With 2 and May 1 Reveal!

Hello friends!  Today I finally get to share some exciting news and to tell my secret that I have been keeping to myself for about two months.  I am now a design team member at Black With 2!

If you are not familiar with this scrapbook challenge blog, the challenge is to create a layout from the monthly mood board provided and always have black cardstock as the background, the monthly sketch, only the two colours stated, the image for inspiration and the monthly word in your title or journaling.  Please note that only 5% of the layout can have the colour white.  Below is the mood board for May.  The colours for May are soft grey and dark slate.

Here is the layout I created for the May Mood Board.  I used a black card stock background, the word living in the title or journaling, as well as several shades of grey and black.

First I matted the photo of my son with corrugated paper and then I painted some chipboard from Creative Embellishments a light grey,

used some black and grey acrylic paint to make some splatters,

added a flair button by A Flair For Buttons

and cut some borders and tabs with my Silhouette Cameo.  Finally I added a strip of Prima washi tape.

Thanks for stopping by and I really hope you are inspired and join the challenge.  To see the design team announcement and the other design team member's layouts, and the sponsors for May's prize, please check it all out here.

 Have a creative day!

Country Living Layout

Hello friends! Happy Sunday!  Today I would like to share a layout I created using the We R Memory Keepers Country Livin' Collection.  I love the mountains nearby and I love to go to the country every chance I get.  It just gives me peace.  It must be all the fresh air and the open space and sky and of course the beautiful landscapes and  animals.

I created this using Sketch #267 over at Creative Scrappers.  I rotated the sketch.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Today I Am Loving Life Layout

Please go here if you are looking for the Practical Scrappers Scrap Our Stash April Blog Hop.

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing yet another layout that I created with one of my favorite Fancy Pants Collections ever.  This is my third layout with the As You Wish Collection.   I love all of Fancy Pants collections and I'm pretty sure I have just about every collection that they have come out with.  Out of all the collections so far, Park Bench, Trend Setter and As You Wish are my favorites.

This layout was fun to do.  I used a lot of my leftover strips from the As You Wish Collection and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the title out of the gold foil paper,  the little tag and the tiny hearts.  There is a lot of sewing machine stitching on this particular and I also fussy cut the flowers.  I thought it would pop more if I used a black background.  To add text to the photos, I created it with an app named  Turbo Collage and I added the text as well.  I used a sketch designed by the amazing Allison Davis.

I love this collection!  Thanks for stopping by! Have a creative day!

Practical Scrappers April Blog Hop - Use Our Stash

Hello friends!  You should have arrived here from the talented Audrey Yeager, but if not you can start back at the top of the list which is the Practical Scrappers blog.

Practical Scrappers http:practicalscrappers.blogspot.com
Lee-Anne Thornton http://lee-annelovethejourney.blogspot.com YOU ARE HERE
Today we are scrapping our stash and scrapbookers always have some goodies that haven't been used so now it's the perfect time to pull out your stash and create something.  For some inspiration, come hop along.

I have created a layout on my Hawaii cruise that I went on in November 2012 with about 100 other obsessed scrapbookers and photographers.  What an experience!  We went to four islands.  This photo was at Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I used the Lucy's Crab Shack Collection of papers by Bazzill Basics Paper, my Silhouette Cameo to cut the tags, title and wave border and my ancient sewing machine.  I finally finished it off with some enamel dots, some fussy cut flowers and some wood embellishments.

I was inspired by a sketch by Susan Stringfellow.

Thanks for stopping by and now it's time to be inspired by another talented scrapper, Suzanna Lee.

Have a creative day!

As You Wish Masculine Layout

Hello and happy Thursday!  It's been a nice relaxing week as my teenage son is off school for spring break and it's been a nice break from the school routine.

Today I thought I would share another layout I created with the Fancy Pants "As You Wish" Collection.  I really love the way this collection can be used for masculine pages as well as feminine pages.  This layout is of my fourteen year old son and I loved the gold foil paper and wanted to use it to cut a title and some die cuts with my Silhouette Cameo.

I am really happy with how it turned out and the foil paper cut like butter in the Cameo.

I was inspired by a sketch by the talented Laura Whitaker over at Let's Capture Our Memories for Layout #67.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a creative day!

Love Affair With Fancy Pants

Hello friends!  Today I wanted to share a layout I created with the As You Wish Collection by Fancy Pants.  I am loving all the bright colors mixed with some vintage papers.  I love their ephemera packs too. I am not going to lie, I love Fancy Pants!

For the herringbone paper, I fussy cut it all apart and then assembled it back together and machine stitched it in place and rotated it to look like arrows.

Right now I am doing a lot of soul searching and thought a layout on where I am right now was in order.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Supreme Scrap Tournament 2015

Hello scrappy friends!  Today I wanted to share a monogram that I created to register for the Supreme Scrap Tournament 2015.

I created this with some papers from Susan K. Weckesser's Live In Color Collection as well as some flowers, pearls and embellishments from Prima.

The Supreme Scrap Tournament is a worldwide creative tournament for scrapbook artists and cardmakers from around the world.  I wanted to participate in the 2014 tournament, but had too much on my plate so I want to make sure to join the 2015 tournament.  It pushes creativity to a new level and helps an artist grow and I'm always up to meeting new friends from all over the world.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Scrap Lifting Challenge

Hello scrappy friends!  I hope you have a wonderful Easter!  Today I wanted to share a layout I created for The Scrap Lifting Challenge.  I have always been a fan of Christin Gronslett's style and thought I would play along with the challenge and scrap lift her layout.

I chose these photos of my cat Sheldon who is quite the character.  The middle photo I captured in "mid yawn" and I thought it looked like he was laughing.  I used papers from the new collection Be Different by Fancy Pants Designs.

Here are some more closeups of my layout

Thanks for stopping in and have a great Easter!
