Black With 2 August Moodboard And Layout

Hello friends!  Today at Black With 2 it is the August reveal and for my layout I created a layout of my teenage son who does not like to get his photo taken.  He usually covers up his face when he sees me and my iPhone focusing or he puts his head down so I was elated to snap this photo on summer vacation. A person has to be quick. LOL.

For my layout I began with a sheet of black card stock and added some grey paint splats and some blue paint spatters.  I used some cutting files from The Cut Shoppe (the title, photo frame and the blue background) as well as my Cuttlebug and some embossing folders to give some texture to the grey piece of card stock .  I also used some strips of washi tape for added interest and made a banner with some bakers twine and pieces of blue paper that I also embossed in my Cuttlebug.  There is a wood heart embellishment that I painted grey and added some journaling strips.  Here are some more detailed closeups.

Here is the August Moodboard.  The challenge is to use the sketch, the word "feeling" and also the colors blue and grey on the black card stock background.

It would be great if you would join in and play along and be eligible for a prize.  All the details and the entire design team reveal is on the Black With 2 blog.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Three Or More August Challenge - Pockets/Envelopes

Hello friends!  Today I would like to share a design team layout for Three Or More.  For August, the challenge is to use three or more photos, and also pockets and/or envelopes on your layout.  For my layout I created a pocket from a 3X4 card that came with the paper collection Summer Squeeze by Bella Blvd.  I also cut a journaling card from the same collection to fit inside the pocket that I stitched with my sewing machine and adhered.  For the inside journal card, I added two round stickers from the same collection back to back to be the pull handle for the journal card.

Here are a few closeups

Thanks for stopping by.  Come play along with us at and upload your creation at Three Or More for a chance of a prize.  Have a great day!

XO Layout For The Cut Shoppe

Hello friends!! Today I am sharing another layout for The Cut Shoppe. For this layout, I created a background and a title using the Around My Heart Cut File and the Handwritten XO Cut File.

Here is a closeup using the Handwritten XO Cut file

Here is a closeup using the Around My Heart Cut File.

Both of these designs can be found in The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store.

I loved creating with these designs.  There are so many to choose from that it was so difficult to decide what to use.  There are cut files being added to the store every week.  Have a great day!

Love Today Layout For The Cut Shoppe

Hello friends!  Happy Tuesday!  Today I am happy to share my very first layout for The Cut Shoppe

I wanted to create a fun, summer page of this little cutie.  Triangles are very trendy at the moment and I love this cut file that Ashley Horton designed.  To complete the layout, I added the die cut title on a journaling card. The paper collection is Summer Lovin' from Carta Bella.

I added some doodling to the bottom and top of the white card stock and also some of the triangles for more texture.  I hope you like my layout. You can find these cut files and many more in The Cut Shoppe Etsy Store here.  Thanks for stopping by!

My Creative Sketches July Sketch Reveal

Hello friends!  Today is the July sketch reveal at My Creative Sketches and for this layout I created a layout of my summer vacation two years ago.  When I visit the ocean, I love to have fresh seafood.  There was a good pub in Comox, B.C. that had an amazing Salmon Burger. For my layout,  I used the Echo Park Walking On Sunshine Collection of papers and stickers as well as some mists that I used as watercolours.

Here is the sketch that inspired my layout.  I used my sewing machine to stitch the circles and my square punch for the patterned paper squares.  The paint splatters were created using some some Tattered Angels Mists and a water brush.  I then outlined then with a black pen.

The deadline to link up your creation for this sketch is August 15 so there is lots of time. There is a chance to win a fabulous prize at My Creative Scrapbook.  Pam Rangel always puts together some fabulous kits. To see what the other Design Team Members came up with using the above sketch, check it out here.  Thanks for stopping by!

Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine Sketchy Challenge Layout For July

Howdy folks!  Today I wanted to share my layout that I created for the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for July.  I had to scrap these photos of my cat Sheldon.  He really is a hoot and makes me laugh every day.  My son took these photos after Sheldon had rolled around in catnip.  Check out those teeth. LOL.  He has the longest fangs on a cat ever!

I try to play along every month with the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge.  Here is the sketch for July designed by Sue Sykes.

I love the bright colours of the Simple Stories DIY Boutique Collection.
