Blessed To Be Your Mom

Hi friends! I always love created family themed layouts and this one of my daughter and I is no exception.

The March Sketch for My Creative Scrapbook was my starting point.  Fellow design team member Laura Whitaker designed the sketch. I love the simplicity of the sketch.

I used the March Creative Kit and an exclusive cut file, that are included in the kits, on my layout.

I love the circle alpha stickers included in the kit to add to my title.

I really love the colors of the papers in this kit and the feather patterned paper that is so trendy. I added some chipboard elements to the layout to give it more dimension and interest.

Be sure and play along with My Creative Scrapbook and the monthly sketches. Check out all the details on prizes that can be won just by uploading your take on the sketch.

Happy creating!

Be You

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout at Just Nick Digital Cut Files using the Floral Burst Background.

I cut out the Floral Burst Background on white cardstock with my electronic die cutting machine. I then copied and pasted the petals on another screen and cut them with my electronic die cutting machine in different colors of patterned paper.  Next I placed the petals over a pink piece of patterned paper and trimmed around the edge leaving about 1/4 inch border.

I used a paper piercer and pierced holes about 1/8 inches apart around the petals and then using six strands of pink embroidery floss, I hand stitched around the edges of the petals.

After all the stitching was completed, I added some die cuts, stickers, pearls, a flair button from A Flair For Buttons and splattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Blush.

Here is the cut file I used on my layout.

I love the homespun feel of the hand stitching.  Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Happy & Pretty You Layout

Hello friends! I thought I would share a second layout that I created for My Creative Scrapbook of my daughter.

This was created with the January Main Kit that includes lots of Fancy Pants Designs papers and embellishments from the new Happy Place Collection.  I just love the soft colors to this collection and the large alphas that are perfect for big titles.  Buttons are something that I haven't used in a while and it was refreshing.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have two more layouts that I created for My Creative Scrapbook this month that I will share later.

It's The November 2015 Kits Reveal Day At My Creative Scrapbook!

Hello friends! Happy Thursday! Today is the 5th of the month, so that means that it is the reveal day at My Creative Scrapbook.  It's always exciting to see all the designers show their beautiful projects with the upcoming kits.  Here are the beautiful kits for November 2015:

November 2015 Main Kit
November 2015 Creative Kit

November 2015 LE Kit
November 2015 Album Kit
I am honored once again to be asked to guest design for November and I loved working with the November 2015 Main Kit.  I thought I would share one of my layouts today and I will share the other three layouts throughout November.  This is my first layout:

I decided to make a layout of my daughter.  The kit is based on a Fall/Thanksgiving theme, but I wanted to show you how the kit can also be used to create everyday layouts.  My daughter's sweater was a dark maroon color and I thought it would work perfectly with the November main kit.

I used the Lindy's Stamp Gang spray from the main kit and sprayed the wood veneer word "celebrate" and used it as part of my title.  I used my one inch square paper punch and punched out several squares of different patterned papers.  If they are cut in half diagonally, they create a triangle.  I arranged the paper triangles in a pattern as shown above and machine stitched them down to the background paper in a dark green thread.  I also used the spray to color the creme ribbon.  The chipboard frames are so fun to work with in this kit.  I try to use them not only as frames for the photos, but also with die cuts.

Thank you so much for letting me share this kit with you.  Be sure and come back several times this month for more layouts that I have created from this kit as well as some tips on how I created the layouts.

My Daughter Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share the first of four layouts with you that I created with the September Main Kit as a guest designer this month at My Creative Scrapbook.  I absolutely adored this kit.  I love the colors, the gold accents and the pretty patterns.  I immediately thought of creating somewhat of a shabby chic layout of my daughter.

Using my 2 inch circle paper punch, I punched out several circles and then cut them in half.

Using a circle cutter to cut the white cardstock circle, I took two colors of embroidery floss and handstitched around the cardstock circle.

I adhered all the patterned paper punched circles around the white cardstock circle as shown above.

I layered some papers and ephemera from the kit on top of the white cardstock and then added my photos, some alpha stickers, a flair button, lace and flowers.

I used some watercolor paint and painted the white background paper, let it dry and then spritzed some light pink mist over it.

Finally I trimmed 1/4" on all four sides of the white cardstock and adhered it to a 12X12 sheet of black cardstock.

Here are some more closeups of my layout.

Here is the beautiful kit I created this with.

In The Garden Layout

Hello friends! Happy Monday! There is only one more week until my son goes back to school and I can't believe how summer has gone by so fast.

Today I wanted to share a layout that I created of my daughter.  She loves gardening and she is amazing at it.  She grows all her annuals from seed and has an amazing garden.

This layout was so fun to make.  I am taking a class taught by Paige Evans and this layout is for an assignment to use a cut file background and watercolors.   Paige Evans designed the cut file that I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

I used several papers from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes Collection and some watercolors around the die cuts to make the flowers pop.

My layout wouldn't have been complete without these cute In The Garden Flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

Don't you just love these?  I especially love the "got dirt" flair button.  Here are some more detailed photos of my layout.  I used some Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a water brush for some of the watercolors and also a water-colour set I bought at Michael's.

I love the summery, fresh feel to this page.  Sometimes it is good to take a class and get new ideas.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Love You Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a layout I created of my daughter.  This was way back in 1999 when she was 12 and just became a big sister to my youngest son.

I cut out my background cut file (A Just Nick Digital Cut File named Fantastic Floral Background) on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and backed it with some Bella Blvd. paper.

I then took out my watercolors and painted the petals of the die cut background with the same colors as the striped paper (orange, grey, red, pink, yellow, green, and blue) from the Bella Blvd. Scattered Sprinkles Collection.

I also painted around the outside edge of the die cut background with watercolors, added some paint splatters and journaling.

To finish the layout I added a Bella Blvd. orange crochet heart, felt bow, some stickers for the title, enamel dots and some DMC floss.

I am happy how it turned out.  I hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

Just Married Captured Layout

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! I am happy to share another layout that I created with the Just Nick Fancy Floral Digital Cut File and the word "capture" from the Capture This Digital Cut Files set.  This wedding layout is of my daughter's wedding day.

I cut the Fancy Floral Cut File with my Silhouette Cameo on some paper from the Fancy Pant's Designs Flutter Collection and also the word "captured" on gold foil paper by Fancy Pants.

I hand stitched inside every petal in several coordinating colors of embroidery floss and also about 1/4 inch from the outside edge of the background paper with several colors.

The title is popped up with some dimensional squares on every other letter.  I added some sequins and flair buttons too.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  You can find the Fancy Floral Digital Cut File and the Capture This Digital Cut File set in the Just Nick Store here.  Thanks for stopping by!

April 1 Sketch At Stuck?! Sketches

Hello friends! Happy April Fools Day! Today is the beginning of a new month and there is another fabulous sketch to reveal at Stuck?! Sketches. Here is my take on the sketch:

I used the Echo Park Creative Agenda Collection for all the papers and stickers on this layout.  The flair buttons are from A Flair For Buttons and the cute wool heart is from Bella Blvd.  I added some mist splatters here and there with Heidi Swapp's Colorshine in Mustard Yellow.  Finally I added some machine stitching.

Now for the sketch that I used designed by Laura Whitaker:

Another great sketch, don't you think?

This will be my last Stuck?! Sketches layout until the Fall. I have decided to take a little break and hope to come back in September.  I will continue to create, whether it is layouts, photography, baking or crafts so be sure and keep visiting my blog.  Have a great day!
