Celebrate 7 Years Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a layout of these two lovebirds. My son and daughter in law recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary.  When I was visiting them last month, I snapped this photo and knew I had the perfect paper for a layout.

I had recently guest designed for My Creative Scrapbook using the September Main Kit and I had some leftover papers. The patterned papers, stickers, flair button and die cuts are from the new My Mind's Eye My Story Collection.  I loved the hearts so I cut them out with scissors and stitched them to my layout.

I added some ephemera and fussy cut the butterflies and spritzed with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Gold, Black and Blush on the white card stock background.

I usually trim the threads after I sew, but for this layout I wanted to give it a whimsical look so I kept the threads long.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

Dream Big Layout

Hello friends! Today I am sharing another layout using the September Main Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.

For this layout of my daughter, I used my Silhouette Cameo and cut out some butterfly shapes that I purchased from the Silhouette Online Store and backed the negative space with patterned paper and saved two of the positive butterfly shapes and popped them up for more dimension.

I added a journal card for the title and some stickers that I also popped up with foam dots to give it more dimension.

Don't delay! All the kits are available at My Creative Scrapbook.  Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

You Give Me Butterflies Layout

Hello friends! I hope you are enjoying your long weekend if you live in Canada or the U.S.  Today I wanted to share with you my second layout using the fabulous September Main Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.

I wanted to do a layout of my daughter and I.  This collection is perfect for feminine layouts.

I love the floral paper in this kit, the gold butterflies and the cute flair.  I wanted to give the layout more interest so I used a one inch paper punch and punched out squares of different papers and used some temporary adhesive to hold the paper squares in place and then I got my sewing machine out and stitched them down.

I fussy cut some some butterflies and added them and some stickers.

I can't tell you how much I love this kit.  If you would like to purchase this kit or any of the September kits at My Creative Scrapbook, you can go to their website here and click the "join" tab.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day!

My Daughter Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share the first of four layouts with you that I created with the September Main Kit as a guest designer this month at My Creative Scrapbook.  I absolutely adored this kit.  I love the colors, the gold accents and the pretty patterns.  I immediately thought of creating somewhat of a shabby chic layout of my daughter.

Using my 2 inch circle paper punch, I punched out several circles and then cut them in half.

Using a circle cutter to cut the white cardstock circle, I took two colors of embroidery floss and handstitched around the cardstock circle.

I adhered all the patterned paper punched circles around the white cardstock circle as shown above.

I layered some papers and ephemera from the kit on top of the white cardstock and then added my photos, some alpha stickers, a flair button, lace and flowers.

I used some watercolor paint and painted the white background paper, let it dry and then spritzed some light pink mist over it.

Finally I trimmed 1/4" on all four sides of the white cardstock and adhered it to a 12X12 sheet of black cardstock.

Here are some more closeups of my layout.

Here is the beautiful kit I created this with.
