So Sweet

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a girly layout that I created for design team work at A Flair For Buttons.

I added three flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons to the middle of all three flowers to add some whimsy and dimension.

I used a hole paper punch to punch all the confetti and a heart paper punch for the flowers. The flowers were inspired by a technique of Paige Evan's where she created flowers from a heart punch.

Whenever I can, I try to use up every morsel of patterned paper so for this layout, I chose the bright, happy colors from the Petite Prints Collection (Gingham And Linen) by Doodlebug Designs. All of the patterned papers were from the 6 X 6 pad.

Recently, I bought a Stitch Happy sewing machine from We R Memory Keepers so I stitched some of the hearts below the title with the aqua thread.

I also used my We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter to type my journaling on the white cardstock paper strip.

I added some puffy stickers from American Crafts for my title and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by and I encourage you to try and use up your paper scraps by adding confetti and punched shapes on your projects.

Have a lovely day!

Meow

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good weekend so far. Today I thought I would share a layout of my cat Sheldon that I created for my design team project that is on the blog today at A Flair For Buttons.

For my layout, I used a 6 X 6 paper pad from Doodlebug Designs and a heart paper punch and punched out several hearts in five colors. With my watercolors, I painted five colors coordinating with the paper hearts on white cardstock. Once the background paint dried, I placed the paper hearts onto the background paper in columns and machine the paper hearts down with my Stitch Happy Sewing Machine and some aqua twine from We R Memory Keepers. I love my new little sewing machine. As you may notice, I stacked two punched heart shapes on the second last row from the bottom to give the layout a little more interest and dimension.

Embellishing was kept to a minimum as I wanted the background and photo to be the focal points of my layout. I used some ephemera, wood shapes and a flair button from the Got Cat Flair set at A Flair For Buttons.

I finished the layout with some enamel dots and splattered some white paint onto the layout.

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Be sure and check out the A Flair For Buttons shop for hundreds more flair buttons. Let me warn you, they are very addictive.

Have a good day!

Hello Lovely Layout

Hello lovely friends and followers! Today I wanted to share my fourth and final layout with the April Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I am really into circles these days so I used my circle paper punches in various sizes as well as my heart paper punch.

I cut 9 large circles and stacked them with 9 slightly smaller circles.  I added some journaling to the bottom right.

and added some paper punched hearts that I popped up with foam squares.

I added the colorful letter stickers over a paper sticker strip .

The doily and bow give the layout a more feminine look.

Finally I added the stickers for the word "Hello"

I hope you are inspired to take out your paper punches more and create with them.  Have a great day!

Celebrate 7 Years Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a layout of these two lovebirds. My son and daughter in law recently celebrated their 7th wedding anniversary.  When I was visiting them last month, I snapped this photo and knew I had the perfect paper for a layout.

I had recently guest designed for My Creative Scrapbook using the September Main Kit and I had some leftover papers. The patterned papers, stickers, flair button and die cuts are from the new My Mind's Eye My Story Collection.  I loved the hearts so I cut them out with scissors and stitched them to my layout.

I added some ephemera and fussy cut the butterflies and spritzed with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Gold, Black and Blush on the white card stock background.

I usually trim the threads after I sew, but for this layout I wanted to give it a whimsical look so I kept the threads long.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great day!

My Fourth Layout For My Creative Scrapbook August Reveal

Hello friends! Happy Saturday!  Today I am excited to share my last layout as guest designer for the August reveal at My Creative Scrapbook.

This layout was created with the August Creative Kit. I really loved this kit and love the gold papers that go with this collection.

For this layout, I used a heart paper punch and punched several hearts of the patterned papers.  I layered and arranged them in a heart shape and machine stitched around the heart.  I added some embellishments such as flair, thread, sequins and die cuts, and splattered mist to complete the layout.

Here are some more closeups.

Here are the three other August kits.  There is one for every scrapbook style.

Flowers I Love You Layout

Hello friends! Hope you are having a good weekend so far. Today I wanted to share a layout I created using the February 2015 sketch over at Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.  I love flowers and love to photograph flowers and create layouts of them often.  They just make me happy.

For this layout I used a cut file from The Cut Shoppe and cut out the heart background on some black card stock then I used the cut outs as a template and hand cut several hearts and adhered them to the back of the card stock.  I love machine stitching on a layout and I think it gives the layout more of a homespun feel so I machine stitched around the outside edge of the hearts.

I fussy cut the title "I Love You" and machine stitched it to attach it to the layout.

Finally I added some sequins and a flair button and some journaling strips.  The patterned papers are from the new We R Memories Love Notes Collection.

Here is the sketch designed by Sue Sykes

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend doing something you love!

Little Guy Layout

Hello friends and fellow scrapbookers! Today I wanted to share a layout that I created of Quinn using a circle paper punch a star paper punch and my antique sewing machine.

This layout was so fun to create. For the patterned papers, I used the Bella Blvd. Tiny Tots Collection and also some stickers, chipboard embellishments and die cuts.  I love Paige Evans style of scrapbooking and this layout was inspired by her style.

I cut the punched circles in half and placed them on the layout in a pattern and then machine stitched.

I punched some stars with a star paper punch and placed them around the photo to create a "frame"

The red and yellow crochet hearts and the blue feather were added for texture and dimension.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and are inspired to take out your paper punches and create a layout or card.  Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Happy Valentine's Day Layout

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by. Today I wanted to share a layout just because.  I thought I would try using some watercolors and see what I came up with.

I used the Echo Park Lucky In Love Collection and for the background paper and some papers and stickers.

For the diecut heart background, I experimented with some watercolor paints and painted a rainbow of colors on some white cardstock and then I used a digital cut file from The Cut Shoppe and cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo.  I loved the way it looks and also used some dimensional squares and popped up some of the watercolored punched out hearts.  I machine stitched around the outside edge to give it more of a homespun feel

I finally finished with a little paper layering and some flair.

Thanks for visiting today! I hope you have a great day!
