Practical Scrappers Ten Things Tuesday - Folded Paper

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am sharing a layout I created of my silly daughter.  She is always making me laugh.  This is for  design team work for Practical Scrappers Ten Things Tuesday and we are all about folded paper and ten ways to use folded paper on your creations.

I chose to create some rosettes with my Silhouette Cameo.

I am loving everything circles these days and I love these papers from Echo Park's Sweet Girl Collection.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create some rosettes on your next project.  Be sure and see what the other designers on the Ten Things Tuesday Team came up with for folded paper here.

Have a great day!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #342

Hello scrappy friends! I hope you all had a great weekend full of scrapbooking of course.  Today there is a new sketch revealed at Scrapbook Challenges and I always enjoy creating from these sketches and Chanell Rigterink always does a fabulous job with making them look so nice.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #342

I wanted to do a playful layout of my daughter and her silly faces.  She cracks me up all the time!

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pie charts, the title and the vellum clouds and then used my sewing machine and stitched the title and clouds to keep them in place.  The patterned papers are from the Echo Park Sweet Girl Collection, the flair button is from The Paper Bakery and the washi tape is from Doodlebug Designs .

I hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch and would love to see what you do with the sketch.  Come play along with us at Scrapbook Challenges and upload your creation to our gallery.

Have a great day!

Let's Capture Our Memories Sketch #17

Happy Sunday!

This weekend has been a very scrappy weekend for me and I don't remember the last time that I scrapped 4 layouts in a single day.  Being a slow scrapper, it felt good to have the creativity and the momentum.

At Let's Capture Our Memories, a website that is dear to my heart because I was on the design team  about a year ago, have some great sketches and after all my design team assignments are done, it's nice to play along with some challenges.  This sketch totally inspired me and it was created by the super talented Allison Cope.

Let's Capture Our Memories Sketch #17

This sketch was perfect because I wanted to use up some scraps that I had.  Here is what I came up with:

Coloring Eggs
Adhesive - Scotch (ATG, 3L Adhesives)
Die Cut Wood Veneer Pieces  (Studio Calico)
Flair Button ( American Crafts)
Letter Stickers - Echo Park (Sweet Girl Collection)
Mists - Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists (Mint Green,  Primrose)
Patterned Papers - Echo Park (Sweet Girl Collection, Dots and Stripes Collection)
Stickers - Echo Park (Sweet Girl Collection)
Twine (Doodlebug Designs)
Every year it is a tradition to colour Easter eggs and I thought the spring colors to this collection by Echo Park would be perfect.

I used lots of the stickers and die cuts from the collection "Sweet Girl".

I love the flair buttons right now and had one in my stash that I wanted to use and some twine.

Studio Calico has these great little die cut wood veneer pieces that I added to the layout.  First I sprayed them with some Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists.

Finally I splattered some mist drops on the layout to give it more interest.

It was so fun to play along with the lovely ladies at Let's Capture Our Memories.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!

Mixed Media Layout - Celebrating Spring

Hello everyone!  Thanks for popping by.

Today, I was inspired by two very talented ladies that I admire so much.  Kelly Klapstein and Bente Fagerberg always create such beautiful scrapbook pages and I wanted to create a mixed media layout with paints, stamps, sprays, modeling paste, stencils, stamps and masks.

I photographed this photo a few weeks ago in my front yard.  There were 5 robins sitting in my tree and I was so happy to see these innocent little creatures.  Spring is my favorite time of year indeed!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Scrap It With A Song - Foolish Games By Jewel

Hi everyone!

Today at Scrap It With A Song the Rock Chicks are scrapping and rocking to the song "Foolish Games" by Jewel.

I was inspired by the words "you are always crazy" so I scrapped a layout on my daughter who has always been fun and crazy and a breath of fresh air.

You Are Always Crazy

I loved using the Simple Stories "Vintage Bliss" collection for this layout.  The colours are so soft and pretty.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout from the song Foolish Games.  If you link up at Scrap It
With A Song for the month of April, you may be our next guest designer.

Have a great day!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #341

Hello friends!  I hope you had a lovely weekend full of things you enjoy doing.  Today at Scrapbook Challenges we are revealing the following sketch:

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #341

I love this sketch and knew exactly what I wanted to scrapbook.  This past Easter, my father-in-law came for dinner and his favorite pie is apple pie.  Doodlebug Designs Fruit Stand collection have the perfect papers and stickers that I love and thought would be perfect for this layout.

This layout was fun to do.  I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the letters "baking" and backed each of the letters with scraps.

I hope you enjoyed my layout and thanks for stopping by.  Come see what the other ladies on the Sketch Crew created at Scrapbook Challenges.

Have a great week!

Sharing A Layout

Happy Saturday! Today I sat down and thought I would just get messy and do a playful, artsy, colourful layout.  There was a photo that was speaking to me to scrapbook of my daughter's girlfriend Kelsi, who is such a sweetheart. I gathered some acrylic paints, mists, stencils, stamps, paper and embellishments and this is what I came up with.

The title is made of vellum and cut with the Silhouette Cameo and then gesso was placed over it and then outlined with a yellow gel pen and a black pen for more definition
I used Tim Holtz stamps with paint and a chicken wire stencil with modeling paste and Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists to spray over the stencil.

I used a butterfly border punch for the yellow border

The photo is matted with patterned paper and I layered some embellishments along the left side of the photo.

Sometimes it's just nice to create with no plan or sketch.  It was fun and that's all that matters.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Practical Scrappers April Card Sketch

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having a good week so far.

Today I am sharing a card that I created for the Practical Scrappers April sketch.

"Shine"

Cards are not something I create very often and it's a nice change from creating layouts.  I used the Trend Setter Collection from Fancy Pants Designs to create this card.  I am loving the coral shade at the moment.  I also used my Silhouette Cameo to create the Gerbera Daisy flower and also did some faux stitching with a white gel pen to accent the card.

Here is the sketch for April:

I hope I have inspired you to create a card.  Come over here and see what some of the other gals from the team have created.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Sketches In Thyme Team A Sketch #109

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a good week so far.  Today at Sketches In Thyme we have a new sketch reveal

Sketches In Thyme Sketch #109
Here is my layout.  I enjoyed making it and put my heart and soul into it but notice that it is a bit crooked so I apologize.   I used a stencil and a bottle of Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist in Peach to spray the sunburst.  I then carefully used my sewing machine and stitched around the sunburst to give it more detail.

Double page layouts have always been a challenge for me so I suppose it's a good thing to have to scrap them and go outside of my comfort zone.  I do like scrapping events such as birthdays or other celebrations on a two pager when there are multiple photos.

This is my final design team layout with Sketches In Thyme as I am letting someone else have an opportunity to design on the team.  I enjoyed my six month term very much, but think it's time to simplify my life a little more.  It's been great working with Tiffany Call and the rest of the team and I have loved meeting some new scrappy friends.  I plan on visiting and joining some of the challenges as time permits.

I hope you enjoy my layout and play along with the sketch.

Have a wonderful day and hope you get to do something that you enjoy!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things Tuesday Team - Hexagons

Hello!

Today it's Ten Things Tuesday at Practical Scrappers and the topic is hexagons.  They are very trendy right now.  My layout is a bit more grungy, and mixed media than I usually create but I wanted to break out the modeling paste, mists and a stencil and have some fun!

I used the Fancy Pants Trend Setter collection for the corrugated background paper and the patterned papers.  The hexagons are a little bit messy, but I'm ok with that.  I was going for lots of texture in this layout.  Below are some more detailed photos:

This was a lot of fun to create and a bit messy, but I enjoyed the process.  Come see here what the other girls on the Practical Scrappers Ten Things Team created and be inspired with a variety of ways to create hexagon shapes on your pages.

Have a great day!
