Practical Scrappers Ten Things - Stamps

Hello scrappy friends!  Today I wanted to share different ways you can use stamps on your projects.

I purchased this brown sheet of fun foam from my local craft store and I wanted to stamp a sentiment to create a "faux leather" look.  I used my heat gun to heat up the fun foam and then while the sheet was hot, I stamped the sentiment into it.  I then took my Tim Holtz Distress Ink and my foam applicator and tinted it to make the words stand out more.  The heart on the top right hand corner was stamped and cut out and then I used my date stamp to add some words with archival ink.  The tree was stenciled and then I used modeling paste for the tree and then I hand painted each dimensional leaf and outlined them with a pen.  I have a lot of sequins in my stash so I adhered them randomly to my layout.  For the trunk of the tree, I used some gold embossing powder.

There are many different ways to use stamps and the team at Practical Scrappers has a few more creative ideas.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you are inspired to create with your stamps.

Practical Scrappers Ten Things - Staples

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am sharing an idea to use staples on your creative projects.  On my art journal page, I handmade a photo corner and stapled it to the photo.  The purpose was to adhere it but also to give it texture.

Staples can be used to adhere and embellish.  For more ideas to use staples on your projects, you can check out what some of the other ladies created on the Practical Scrappers blog.

I hope I have inspired you to use those staples in different ways.

Have a great day!

I also used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out a wave background to use as a stencil to create my "waves" and lots of Prima flowers and Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists.  Here are some more detailed photos:

Hello scrappy friends!  Today I have an awesome sketch to share with you created by Liz Chidester for  the August Sketch at Practical Scrappers.  I love sketches and this one was perfect for scrapping that special photo of my parents for their 55th wedding anniversary.  Wow!  What a milestone!  I chose some papers and some die cuts  from the new We R Memories Country Livin' Collection and also some stamps, mist, sequins, and tons of different embellishments to finish the layout.  Here are a few photos:

Practical Scrappers Ten Things - Paint

Hello friends!

Today at Practical Scrappers the The Ten Things Team are sharing several ideas on using paint on a layout.

On my layout, I created a frame along the outside edge with a large wood stamp and some acrylic paint and distress paint from Tim Holtz

I embraced imperfection and used paint dabbers and "inked" up my stamps and went for it.  I used three different colors and alternated.  I then machine stitched around the inside edge of the paint border.

here are some more closeups

Why don't you give it a try.  It's lots of fun.  Thanks for stopping by!

Practical Scrappers - Ten Things Letter Stickers

Hello scrappy friends!

Today is all about letter stickers.  Do you have tons of letter stickers in your stash that you don't know what to do with?  I have the perfect solution.  Use your Thickers or alphabet stickers to create a background for your layout.

My layout is of my grandpuppy Elly who was very sick recently.  She is sleeping in this photo so I thought I would gather up all the letters "z"s" that I had and knew that I would never use them all and put them to good use.

Elly

I took a 12 X 12 piece of white cardstock and adhered numerous letters on it.  I then used a small foam brush and applied gesso to all the letters and let it dry.  This gives the letters some toothiness so that inks and mist will adhere better and mute the colors as I had all different colours of letters.  I then misted and inked with distress ink and then I embellished with corrugated paper that was misted and inked and then added a variety of embellishments.  Here are some closeups:

This layout was a lot of fun to create and I was happy with the result.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things Team - Mists

Happy Tuesday!

I hope you have some time to be creative this week.  Today the Practical Scrappers Ten Things Team are sharing different ideas to use mists and sprays on your projects.  I have every colour of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists and love their gorgeous colours and shimmer.

Cardstock - DCWV
Corrugated Paper - Fancy Pants
Mists - Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mists (Mustard, Teal)
Patterned Paper - Fancy Pants
Stencil - Graffiti Stencil Art
Title - Silhouette Cameo

For my layout, I created the title by covering the bottom half of the die cut title with a piece of paper and misting with the Mustard Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist, letting it dry,  remove, and then covering the top half with a piece of paper and misting it with the Teal Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mist, letting it dry and remove.

I used the Fancy Pants Park Bench Collecton for the papers and stickers, my Silhouette Cameo to die cut the title and a star stencil from Graffiti Stencil Art.

Thanks so much for visiting and check out what the ladies at Practical Scrappers came up to give you many more ideas to use your mists.

Now it's your turn to give it a try!  Have a great day!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things Team - Washi Tape

Have you ever been wondering how to use that washi tape in your stash?  Today the Ten Things Team at Practical Scrappers will give you lots of ideas how to use it.

I created this mixed media layout and used my washi tape to embellish the rosettes that I cut on my Cameo.  This works great because I always put a strip of tape on the back of my rosettes to strengthen them before folding them because in my experience they tend to tear.  For the washi tape, I placed the washi tape on the right side of the rosette.

Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Cardstock - American Crafts
Distress Inks - Tim Holtz (Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick)
Embellishment (Butterfly) Michaels
Flair Button - The Paper Bakery
Foam Letters - American Crafts
Ink - Ranger
Mask - Prima
Modeling Paste - Liquitex
Rosettes - Silhouette Cameo
Stamps - Bo Bunny, Tim Holtz, Amy Tangerine
Threading Cord - Michaels
Washi Tape - Queen & Co. & Michaels
Here are some more close ups

Thanks for stopping by!  Check out what the other ladies created with washi tape here.  Have a great day!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things Tuesday - Bags

Hi friends!  Well another Tuesday is here and that means that Practical Scrappers are showing many different ways to use bags on a layout.

I created this layout with a glassine bag that holds journaling as well as the title and also wanted to make it look like a flower pot for the flowers.  I used drinking straws for the stems of the flowers and ribbon for the leaves.

I hope you are inspired to create with glassine bags or any kind of bag on your layout.  Come check out what some of the other ladies at Practical Scrappers came up with here.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a scrappy day!
