Wild Child Layout

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good weekend.  I know I am enjoying the last day of summer.  Officially in my home it is the last day of summer vacation as my youngest son goes back to school tomorrow.  It was a really hot summer and also smoky with all the forest fires but I must say I really enjoyed it.  Enough about that.

I wanted to share a layout I created for the August 28 Scrap And Chat Challenge over at Paper Issues.  It was so much fun to hang out with a fun bunch of ladies on Friday night.  They are all so upbeat and it was a great way to unwind after a crazy busy week.  For the challenge I used paint, patterned paper, sequins and journaling.  Here is the layout I came up with for the challenge:

I am really on a paper punching kick at the moment and using 6X6 paper pads.  This one was in my stash and it is the Simple Stories Hello Baby Collection.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have a great week!

The Joys Of Boys

Hello friends! I am happy you stopped by my blog.  If you are looking for the August Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop, you can scroll down or go here.

Today I am sharing a layout I created using some awesome flair from A Flair For Buttons.

This layout is of my son when he was seven years old.  He was at a birthday party and they had face painting so he chose to be a pirate. I used the Bella Blvd. Max Collection for all the papers, stickers and the crochet heart.

For more of a homespun feel, I hand stitched with some orange embroidery floss.  I adhered two flair buttons on my layout. The #little man flair button is from the Hashtag Boy Flair Set.

I can't get enough stars and hearts and used a paper punch for all the small paper hearts and die cut a large heart with my Silhouette Cameo and added a flair button from the Just Hearts 1 Flair Set.

I like to group my embellishments so I added some brads from October Afternoon that were in my stash.

I appreciate it that you stopped by! Don't forget to check out the shop at A Flair For Buttons for these and hundreds more flair buttons.

August 2015 Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop

Hello friends! I'm happy you are here! You should have arrived here from Cathy Harper's blog.

Today it's all about using our stash and I'm sure every paper crafter and scrapbooker has one.  I wanted to share a layout I created using some Bella Blvd. papers from the Summer Squeeze Collection.

For this layout, I used a 3 inch circle paper punch and cut out several circles of patterned papers and then I cut the circles in half and then in half again.  Now you will have four pie shapes for each circle.

I watercolored my background paper and matted my photos.  I arranged the pie shapes in circles with different papers and machine stitched them and added some embellishments such as stickers, bows and enamel dots.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Next up is Christine's blog.  Here is the blog hop list just in case.  You don't want to miss all the scrappy inspiration.

Thanks for hopping!

Grade 9 Memories

Hello friends!  Today I wanted to share a school layout of my oldest son using the Pie Chart 2 Background Cut File at Just Nick Digital Cut Files.
This layout has an older photo (my son is 30 now) but I wanted to give the layout an on trend look.  I thought the Pie Chart 2 Background Cut File would do just that.  For this layout, I played around with the cut file and cut it out on white card stock and backed it with some school themed patterned papers from the Doodlebug Design Back To School Collection and then machine stitched it to give it more of a homespun feel to the page.

I also used some Bella Blvd. stickers, some ink splats and flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

I hope you are inspired to take an older photo and update it with a trendy cut file.  All the Just Nick Digital Cut Files are on trend and can be purchased in the online Just Nick Store here.

In The Garden Layout

Hello friends! Happy Monday! There is only one more week until my son goes back to school and I can't believe how summer has gone by so fast.

Today I wanted to share a layout that I created of my daughter.  She loves gardening and she is amazing at it.  She grows all her annuals from seed and has an amazing garden.

This layout was so fun to make.  I am taking a class taught by Paige Evans and this layout is for an assignment to use a cut file background and watercolors.   Paige Evans designed the cut file that I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

I used several papers from the Simple Stories Summer Vibes Collection and some watercolors around the die cuts to make the flowers pop.

My layout wouldn't have been complete without these cute In The Garden Flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

Don't you just love these?  I especially love the "got dirt" flair button.  Here are some more detailed photos of my layout.  I used some Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a water brush for some of the watercolors and also a water-colour set I bought at Michael's.

I love the summery, fresh feel to this page.  Sometimes it is good to take a class and get new ideas.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Clayton's 15th Birthday Layout

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday! I wanted to share a layout I created of my son's birthday last year.

I wanted a title that made a statement and popped off the page so I created my own title with my Silhouette Cameo creating the text in a circle and then backing it with solid color papers to make it pop.

I used the Making Waves and Nautical Collection by Fancy Pants Designs for all the papers (except the white card stock) die cuts, tags, bags and stickers.

I added some Heidi Swapp Colorshine in yellow and navy and red to direct the eye around the page.

I love using paper collections for different themes than what they are made for such as this layout which is a birthday layout when the collections are more for summer and the beach.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Flowers Make Me Happy

Hello friends! Today I don't have a layout to share but I wanted to share some photos of some flowers from my daughter's garden.  I was visiting her this past weekend and had to snap some photos of her flowers.  She definitely has a green thumb.

Back To School Layout

Hello friends! Happy Saturday! This weekend I am enjoying being together with my older kids whom I don't get to see very often as they live in a different city than I do.  I haven't seen my oldest son for eight months and my daughter for two months so it's great to be together.  Since I have been thinking of them a lot lately and the new school year will be beginning soon, I thought I would dig up an old photo and scrapbook it.  This photo is from 1993 but I wanted to give it a fresh, trendy design.  Triangles are very trendy and I love the pinwheel effect it gives this layout.

I was inspired by Cari Locken on the Silhouette blog recently.  I went ahead and used a black Silhouette Sketch Pen in my Silhouette and sketched out the design on a 12X12 piece of white card stock.  I then offset the design by 0.78 and then put the Silhouette blade in my Cameo and went ahead and cut the design with a 6X6 paper pad of the new Doodlebug Design Back To School Collection and adhered the paper triangles randomly to the sketched triangles. I also  left some blank so it wouldn't be too busy.

I also cut out the title with my Silhouette Cameo with a free cut file at Kerri Bradford Studios and popped it up with dimensional adhesive squares.

I had some sequins in my stash and some cute wood embellishments and a backpack embellishment so I added them to the layout as well.

This was so much fun to do.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend.

Cool Dude Layout

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! Today I am on the Just Nick Digital Cut Files Blog with another layout using Just Nick Cut Files.  For this week the challenge is to use three or more cut files on a project.  I used 4 different sets of cut files for this boy layout of my son.
Using my Silhouette Cameo, I cut the Brick Circle on white card stock and backed it with a piece of patterned paper.  For the dimension, I added small foam squares that I cut in half and adhered to the backside of the card stock.  I love the shadows and dimension it gives the background. These papers are from the October Afternoon Treasure Map Collection.  I also used some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.
I cut the title "Cool Dude" from the All Boy Cut Files as well as the star inside the circle cut file from the All Boy Cut Files and added them to the layout.
The words "remember today" were cut from the Word Brushstrokes Cut File and added to the top left hand corner of the layout over the white card stock so it was legible.
Finally I added the "awesome" word tab from the Word Tab Cut Files and the "smile" .
I hope you enjoyed my layout and are inspired to use these awesome cut files designed by Nicole Nowosad.  All these and many more cuts files are in the Just Nick Digital Cut Files Store here.
Thanks for stopping by!
