Cute As A Button

Hi everyone! Today I am sharing another layout for Just Nick Digital Cut Files using the Bitty Buttons Cut File, the Handcut Letters Cut File and the word "cherish" from the Gratitude Cut File.  I thought it was perfect for the title of the layout because this little guy is as cute as a button.  My daughter saw this kid when it was only 20 minutes old.  He was named Rudy.

I cut out paper buttons, the Bitty Buttons Cut File with my Cameo. I also used the Handcut Letters to create the title "As Cute As A Button" and repeated the title to fill the entire page.  I then cut it out on white card stock, flipped over the card stock and backed it with some brown paper.  I also cut out the word "cherish" from the Gratitude Cut File Set.

Thankful Layout

Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Today I am up on the A Flair For Buttons blog sharing a layout on being thankful.  I am thankful that my sister in law was able to find happiness again in her life with her marriage to Ivan after the passing of my brother a few years ago.  He is a great guy and I'm sure my brother would have approved.

I used the Burlap 2 Flair for all three flair buttons on my layout.  I love the way the flair buttons look like they have been knit and the texture it gives them.  I also used one of my favorite collections by Simple Stories.  It's the Pumpkin Spice Collection.  The papers, enamel dots, chipboard pieces, frames and ephemera make it so awesome.  I love the rustic look of this collection.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day! Happy creating!

Just Nick Digital Cut Files November Freebie

Hello friends! November seems to be moving right along and I thought I would pop in and let my blog followers know that Just Nick Digital Cut Files offers a free cut file each month.  Here is the layout that I created with the freebie:

For this month, it is the Leaves Cut File.  The free download is available until midnight CST on November 30, 2015.  Simply use the code LEAVESFREE at checkout.  After November 30,  it can be purchased.  You can download it here.

I began my layout by cutting several leaves on my Silhouette Cameo using the Leaves Cut File with the Echo Park The Story Of Fall 6X6 Paper Pad.  I especially like the idea that I can arrange four 6X6 papers on my cutting mat and cut them all at once. The papers are double sided so there are lots of different patterns and colors.

For the title,  I used the word "smile" from the Capture This Cut File Set, an older cut file in the Just Nick Shop, and cut it out on some gold foil paper.

After the leaves were cut, I arranged them in a square on the outer edge of the white card stock background and then carefully machine stitched around the outside edge to fasten them. I also like to bends the leaves up so it gives more dimension.

Finally, I  embellished the layout with some sequins, enamel dots and a flair button from A Flair For Buttons.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the free download.  Don't forget to share your creations with us using any of the Just Nick cut files by tagging us at @justnickstudio on Instagram or on the Facebook page here.

Happy scrapping!

Another Layout With The My Creative Scrapbook November Main Kit

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share another layout that I created from the My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit for November.  I am a guest designer for My Creative Scrapbook again this month.  This layout was a lot of fun to create and I wanted to use a lot of photos of things that I am thankful for.

I hand cut the letters of my title from white card stock and then instead of using a Fuse Tool, I machine stitched around the letters leaving a little space so I could add some stars that I punched out with a paper punch.  Then I machine stitched the letters closed.  I also used some chipboard frames to give it a fun look.

This was my favorite layout that I created with the main kit.  I have two more that I will share this month so keep coming back.

Have a great day and be sure and check out all the wonderful kits at My Creative Scrapbook.

Bella Blvd. November Bella Buzz Is Here

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a lovely day.

Today the Bella Blvd. has released their November 2015 Bella Buzz newsletter.  I am excited to have another layout included in the Bella Buzz.
My son Clayton was a pirate for a Halloween party when he was nine years old. I thought he made a cute little pirate with his blue eyes if I say so myself.

I used the Max Collection by Bella Blvd. for this layout and embellished with some hand stitching.  One of my favorite things to embellish my layouts with is flair buttons.  All my flair buttons are from A Flair For Buttons.

To download your free issue of the Bella Buzz you can download it here.  There is a giveaway also.  You can also sign up to subscribe to the newsletter here. To read all the previous Bella Buzz issues you can find them here.

Enjoy your day! Happy creating!

Baby Goats Are Too Cute Layout

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday! Today I am on the Just Nick Digital Cut File blog sharing this layout of my daughter and this adorable baby goat or kid, which is the proper term. My daughter is in heaven when she can be around animals of any kind.  When she was a little girl it always was like a zoo at our house.  We had cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, fish, and newts.  She had a special way with them and they loved her as much as she loved them.

I wanted to give this layout a country feel and I thought that the woodgrain and gingham papers would fit the bill.  I used the Hand Cut Letters 2 Cut File to cut out the title with my Silhouette Cameo and then I machine stitched it to the background paper.  All the papers, chipboard frames, enamel dots, stickers and embellishments are from the Pumpkin Spice Collection by Simple Stories.  My sewing machine does some cool stitches so I thought I would change it up from the usual straight stitching.  It adds to the country homespun feel don't you think?

The sweet thing about these cut files are that they can be used on several electronic die cutting machines and they are an instant download so there are no shipping costs.  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the Just Nick Digital Cut File Online Store for the Hand Cut Letters 2 Cut File and many more cut files.

So Very Grateful

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a selfie layout of being thankful and grateful.  On a more personal note, I am celebrating my birthday today and actually I am not sad but happy and reflective.  I don't intend for this to seem that I am self absorbed, it just makes me reflect on how beautiful life is and after being on this earth for a number of  years it makes me realize that I have come through a lot of tragedies and challenges in my life and I can honestly say that I am happier in my life more now than ever. Sure, I physically feel my age at times, but mentally I feel 25.  I just wish I had the wisdom when I was 25. Ha!

It really is all about attitude and making the most of everyday and counting my blessings.  My life isn't perfect, but it's still wonderful.  I also am grateful for scrapbooking.  It really is an amazing hobby that lets me reflect on the memories, the beauty and the loved ones in my life.  If truth be known, I have always loved anything crafty, but scrapbooking by far brings me the most contentment.  I have met so many beautiful people, whom I call my friends, my support network and the people that get me.  Thank you for letting me share my passion with you and thank you for taking the time to read and visit my blog. I hope, if anything, you can take that we all need to do something we love, whether it's art, music, photography, cooking, sports or anything.  We need to do more of what we love and make the time for it.  Life happens and it's easy to get sucked into the monotony of everyday life so now,  more than ever, we need to slow down and take time for ourselves.

Well enough about that….  So getting back to business, I wanted to share a layout that I created for A Flair For Buttons.

I have been blessed to be on this amazing team and Shelley Haganman is so sweet and positive and she makes amazing flair buttons.  It's no surprise that I can't help but use her flair on almost every layout I create.  It always inspires me.  For this particular layout, I used the Fox And Owl Flair Set for the "thankful" flair button and the striped flair button as well as the Gobble Gobble Flair Set for the green patterned flair button.

The patterned papers are all from the Simple Stories Sweater Weather Collection as well as the enamel dots, die cuts and chipboard embellishments.  I love anything that Simple Stories comes out with.

For the leaves, I actually handcut them using one of the leaves as a template and arranged them in a layered fashion using pop dots underneath some of the leaves to give some shadow and dimension.

I had some burlap in my stash so I cut it and matted my photos and cut circles and placed the circles on the leaves and underneath the flair button to give it more texture.

Placing enamel dots around the layout gives it more of a Fall flair to gives the appearance that the leaves are falling down the page.  Most of my layouts have either machine stitching or some hand stitching because I love the homespun look and am an old fashioned girl at heart.  It probably has something to do with my cross-stitching days as well.

Here are the flair button sets that I created my layout with:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a good day and are able to take time to do something you love.
