Baby's 1st Christmas Mini Album

Hello friends! Happy American Thanksgiving to all my American friends that are celebrating today.

I wanted to share with you another mini album. I created it with some medium size red paper bags that are found at Michael's in the party supplies section. This one is for my grandson's first Christmas.

I am in love with printing design papers at home lately. I find it works for me as I can print only what I need and resize it to be suitable for cards and mini albums. This collection is designed by Nitwit Collections and is from the Baby's First Christmas Collection.

I also shared this mini album on the A Flair For Buttons blog as one of my design team projects. I love flair buttons and they work perfectly for this album.  The cute penguin flair button on the front cover is from the Christmas Fun 2 Flair Set.

There are lots of pockets and tags to house photos and journaling. On one tag I added a an adorable snowman flair button from the Vintage Snowman 2 Flair Set.

On another tag, I added the cute reindeer slippers flair button from the Christmas Fun 2 Flair Set.

I love the way the paper bags work as extra pockets to tuck in more photos and journaling tags.
This paper bag mini album has lots of places to add photos.

For the spine, I added red, green and silver ribbon and tied some cute little christmas themed buttons using "Dress It Up" buttons.

I found some cute red ribbon with Rudolph at Michael's and added it to the album so it can be tied in a bow to close up the album.

Santa Please Stop Here Christmas Paper Bag Mini Album

Hello friends!

Today I have another mini album to share for A Flair For Buttons using seven, yes seven flair buttons from various flair sets in the shop.

This album was fun to put together. The base of the album is made from kraft paper lunch bags. then covered with design papers, stickers and ephemera die cuts from the adorable Photoplay Paper's Oh Canada Christmas Collection by Becky Fleck Moore.

Here are some photos of the pages, pockets and tags in the album:

This was a lot of fun to create and I can't wait to gift it to my daughter so she can add some Christmas photos.

Have a great creative day!

Stay Wild Mini Album

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share with you a fun mini album that I created of my dog Syd.

Syd and I go for walks near the river and forest near my home just about every day. I snapped these photos with my iPhone of the gorgeous colours of Autumn and thought I would create a fun mini album.

Recently, a very talented lady named Cat Martin opened up an Etsy store named The Minty Octopus. She designs gorgeous digital papers and elements and when I saw this new collection named Norwegian Wood, I knew I wanted it to create this album. Be sure to check out her Etsy store.

First I downloaded the papers and elements from the kit and resized them in my Silhouette Designer Edition software and used the Print And Cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo and printed them out on Epson Premium Matte Presentation Paper on my Epson home printer.

After I made the foundation of my album and embellished it with ribbon and the elements, I thought I would add several flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons to make it more fun. When I add binder rings to my mini albums, it gives me the opportunity to add more "lumps and bumps" to my pages without being concerned that the mini album will be too bulky to open and close the pages with ease.

Here are my pages:

I want to thank you for visiting my blog today. Have a great day and happy creating!

Smile It's Spring

Hello friends! It's the weekend and today I wanted to share a layout that I created for A Flair For Buttons.

In April, I went to a scrapbooking retreat and decided to hand stitch a layout of daffodils because I wanted to hang it in my home to celebrate spring which happens to be my favorite season. With the long, harsh winters where I live, it is always great when the birds are chirping, the trees are blooming, the grass is green and the flowers are sprouting up in the gardens.

Daffodils are such a happy flower and when I saw a Daffodils Flowers Cut File designed by Paige Evans, I knew that I wanted to use my sketch pens in my Silhouette Cameo and sketch the daffodils design so I could hand stitch it. Yes, it was a labor of love, but I really enjoy the process and personally, I find it very relaxing and therapeutic.

After the design was stitched, I wanted to add some more color so I decided to take my Distress Oxides and a water brush and water color inside of the stitched design.

Adding a photo to this layout just didn't seem right because I wanted the hand stitched and watercolored daffodils to be the star of the show.

The embellishments to complete the layout were kept to a minimum so I added the yellow watercolor circle flair button to dot the "i" in the word "smile". It was from the Watercolor Circles Flair Set from A Flair For Buttons. I also added some coordinating sequins and enamel hearts. The title completed the layout and I went with yellow, green and black alphabet letters to give it more interest.

For photography purposes, I took photos of the layout before I framed it in a 12X12 scrapbook frame so there wouldn't be any glare from the glass frame.

I hope you are inspired to try something a little different by adding flair buttons to dot the "i" in a word and also some hand stitching and water coloring. Just have fun with it!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out all the wonderful flair in the A Flair For Buttons shop.
