Practical Scrappers October Blog Hop

Happy Halloween! You should have arrived here from Cheryl's blog but if not, just follow the blog hop list below.

Lee-Anne http://lee-annelovethejourney.blogspot.com/  YOU ARE HERE :)

Today at Practical Scrappers we are having a Halloween Blog Hop and the only requirement is to make a project with some of our stash.  I dug through all my Halloween papers and decided to make some art for my wall to put up in my front hall.  I used the Oct. 31 Collection by Fancy Pants Designs.  It's been a while since I have created with rub ons and overlays.  This is what I came up with.

For the haunted house, I used a cut file designed by Samantha Walker in the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo and then backed the windows, doors and porch with some different papers and then added a sticker and some rub ons and overlays.  I used a shadow box frame that I had to frame the project.

You have reached the end of the blog hop.  I hope you are inspired by all of the creations today on the hop. I know I am. Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and happy Halloween!

Lil Pumpkin Layout

Hello followers! So glad you came by to visit.  Today I am sharing a Halloween layout using the Halloween Cut Files and Printable from The Cut Shoppe.

I used the Happy Haunting Printables for the Pumpkin Patch 3X4 card and the spiderweb.

The Pumpkin cut file was from a free cut file, back in September, for The Cut Shoppe newsletter subscribers only so if you aren't a subscriber to The Cut Shoppe Newsletter, now is the time to subscribe to be in the loop for all the happenings and free cut files.

For the title, I used the A To The Z Alpha cut file and dry brushed some distress paint over the alphas to make it stand out more.

All the patterned papers and stickers are from the Doodlebug Designs Ghouls And Goblins Collection.

There is a giveaway and sale on these 4 Halloween Cut Files and the Printable so be sure and visit The Cut Shoppe Blog for all the details.  The sale and giveaway is on now until November 3, 2014.

Thanks for stopping by and sadly this is my last design team post for The Cut Shoppe.  It's been so much fun but in the future, I am sure you will see many layouts of mine using the cut files and be sure to check out the new design team, which will debut tomorrow.  I can't wait to see what these talented ladies create.  I'm sure it will be great.  Thanks for stopping by and Happy Halloween!

Hello scrappy friends! Today I wanted to share some exciting news.  One of my layouts made it's way into the Fancy Pants October 2014 Newsletter! My layout can be found on Page 22.

Here is my layout of my youngest on his last day of fifth grade.

It's no secret that Fancy Pants is one of my favorite scrapbook paper companies and I'm pretty sure that I have every collection since their inception.  The layout above was created with the Fancy Pants Designs True Friend Collection and I also used the 12X12 Spin Cycle Cut File from The Cut Shoppe to create the background along with some flair from A Flair For Buttons.

I spot a few ladies that I know in the newsletter too.  You can view the online newsletter here:

Cat Pumpkins Layout

Happy Saturday friends! Today I would like to share a layout I created with the Fancy Pants Designs True Friends Collection.  I thought the colours were perfect for my cat halloween pumpkin that I carved.

I found this cute pumpkin cut file online and I really can't remember who shared it, but thank you! The pumpkins title is a free cut file from Kerri Bradford.  I cut the pumpkin shape and the title from my Silhouette Cameo.  I then added several strips of patterned paper behind the pumpkin die cut, matted the photos, splattered some mist for interest and added some flair, stickers and a wood embellishment and then matted the layout on a piece of corrugated paper.

I hope you enjoyed your visit. Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a great day!

Mug Shot Layout

Hello followers! Happy Friday!  Today has been a busy day in my blog world as it's my third post for today.  I wanted to share a layout I created of one of my favorite things….coffee.  It makes my world go round.  I love it all! It doesn't matter if it's dark roast, medium roast, Columbian, espresso, lattes. I love it so I thought I would make a layout of coffee.

I love the Indian Summer Collection of patterned papers by We R Memory Keepers. I have used it a few times and thought the colours were perfect for a coffee layout.  For the title, I used the Java Script cut file from The Cut Shoppe as well as a cut file from Paper Issues to create the circular background.

I outlined the title with a black pen to make it pop more and fussy cut some doilies and hand punched some stars.

To complete the layout, I added some flair from A Flair For Buttons.  I just love the coffee flair don't you? Also,  I embellished with arrow wood veneers from Creative Embellishments.  Finally I added some sequins and pearls and added some hand journaling to the bottom right hand circle.

For this layout, I played along at Paper Issues for the Cut It Out Link Party.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Happy Fall Y'all Layout

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share my last design team layout for The Cut Shoppe.  It has been a fantastic four months creating on the team and Ashley Horton and the entire team are so great to work with.  For my layout, created a Fall layout of my family this past Thanksgiving.  In Canada, Thanksgiving is the second Monday in October.

Here are some more closeups of my layout.

I wanted to create a plain and simple layout using the cute Happy Fall Y'all Cut File. I love the way it gives a warm, casual feel to my page.  The sketch was inspired by a sketch at Creative Scrappers and I used the Sweater Weather Collection of papers and embellishments by Simple Stories.

This and many more amazing cut files and printables are available in the store now!  Thanks for stopping by and I know that I will continue to use many cut files from The Cut Shoppe in future! Have a great day!

2 Cute 2 Spook Layout

Hello friends! Today at Creative Embellishments, I have Halloween on my mind so I thought I would create a Halloween layout with some of Creative Embellishments yummy wood veneers and chipboard.  For my layout,  I painted the 2 Cute 2 Spook Chipboard Title with acrylic paints and also the Pumpkin Faces Chipboard piece as well as the Ghost (Set Of 6) Wood Veneers.  I also cut out all the patterned paper triangles with my Silhouette Cameo and used my sewing machine to stitch around the triangles.  All the patterned paper triangles and little circle embellishments are from the Witches Brew Collection by Jillibean Soup.

Here is the October Sketch designed by Liz Chidester

Fall Mixed Media Layout

Happy Friday! Today I am sharing a mixed media layout for Creative Embellishments. I am loving all the seasonal wood veneers and chipboard and wanted to create an Autumn Layout.

I began with a white 12X12 piece of white card stock and inked up some stamps and stencils and used many distress inks in Fall colors.  For the wood veneer leaves, Autumn Leaves (Set of 6) I used several distress paints.

For the chipboard Twig Frame, I used some distress paint.  I am very happy with how this layout turned out.

I hope you are inspired to create a Fall layout.  Thanks for stopping by!

Give Thanks Layout

Hello friends!  Happy Thursday!  Today I wanted to share a layout that I created just for the fun of it.  I don't think I have ever created a photoless layout. In the hustle and bustle of getting prepared for our Canadian Thanksgiving Day, which is this weekend,  I am very excited that my older children will be coming to celebrate it with me.  I wanted to scrapbook something from my heart and all the things that I am thankful for.

This layout was pure fun to create!  I used the new Hello Autumn Collection from Bella Blvd. for all the patterned papers, the stickers, chipboard stickers and ephemera and a piece of white card stock.  I cut out a template with my Silhouette Cameo from some free cut files that I found at Chickaniddy Crafts and then used several pieces of patterned paper to make the design.  I wanted my journaling to be personal and from the heart so I wrote it in my own handwriting.

I hope you enjoyed my layout! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
