Fresh Flowers

Hello friends! Sometimes it's nice to play around and just have some fun.  This is what this layout is about. Getting messy with some acrylic paints and gesso.  My husband gave me these gorgeous flowers and I knew I had to create a page of them.

I dipped a rubber stamp in pink acrylic paint (Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Paint) and stamped around the outside edge of the white cardstock background.  Then I added some clear gesso to the center of the white cardstock, let it dry and then added some pink acrylic paint (Spun Sugar Ranger Distress Paint) with an expired credit card.

Next I added some papers, die cuts and embellishments from the Here Comes The Sun Collection by Pretty Little Studio.  I love the colors and the cute cacti in this collection.

A few months ago I purchased the pink typewriter (Typecast) from We R Memory Keepers and it has helped me journal on my pages a lot more than I did in the past.

This layout was created for the January Mix It Up Challenge at Paper Issues.  The challenge was to use acrylic paint and gesso on a project.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Loveliness Layout

Hello friends! Life has been busy but I still try to find time to be creative so I decided to join some of the monthly challenges that Paper Issues has.  This one is for the Take 5 Tuesday challenge. The challenge is to use five or more items on the list on a layout.  I thought I would do some stash busting while I'm at it.

I have been hoarding this Pink Paislee Bella Rouge Collection for two years and thought it was time to break it out.  I am really digging pink at the moment and softer colors.  This layout is of my daughter and her bridesmaids on her wedding day.

I added a flair button from A Flair For Buttons

My sewing machine always gets a workout and I love the texture that just a little sewing creates on a layout.

Recently I purchased a pink Typecast typewriter from We R Memory Keepers to add some journaling to my layouts.  Journaling is something I usually hide or write on the back of my layouts, but I am trying to add more journaling strips.

Bella Blvd. always has some of the cutest embellishments so I dug into my stash once again and pulled out an pink enamel heart and a pink felt bow.

I love these silver phrases that I had in my stash and thought the word "loveliness" would be perfect for my title.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed your visit and have a chance to do something you love.  It is soothing for the soul.  Have a great day!

Trim The Tree

Hello friends! I hope you are staying warm. It's very cold here these days and when it's like this I like to hunker down in my studio and scrapbook.  Not very often I have the time to play along with some challenges as my design team assignments keep me very busy but I was inspired so much by this sketch by Amy Coose for the Paper Issues Sketchy Saturday Challenge that I had to play along.

I love to add some Missy Whidden style watercolors to my layouts so I used some grey, lime green and aqua watercolors and the packaging technique for my background.

I used some random alpha stickers from various collections of Bella Blvd. as well as some wood veneer trees that have been in my stash forever.  The papers are from the Winter and also the Christmas Collection by Lawn Fawn.  I am really digging plaid this year and can't get enough of it.

To finish off my layout I added some machine stitching, thread, alpha stickers from Jillibean Soup as well as a felt bow from Bella Blvd. and of course some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

It was so much fun to create just for the fun of it.

Have a great day and thanks for sharing your day with me.

Wild Child Layout

Hello friends! I hope you are having a good weekend.  I know I am enjoying the last day of summer.  Officially in my home it is the last day of summer vacation as my youngest son goes back to school tomorrow.  It was a really hot summer and also smoky with all the forest fires but I must say I really enjoyed it.  Enough about that.

I wanted to share a layout I created for the August 28 Scrap And Chat Challenge over at Paper Issues.  It was so much fun to hang out with a fun bunch of ladies on Friday night.  They are all so upbeat and it was a great way to unwind after a crazy busy week.  For the challenge I used paint, patterned paper, sequins and journaling.  Here is the layout I came up with for the challenge:

I am really on a paper punching kick at the moment and using 6X6 paper pads.  This one was in my stash and it is the Simple Stories Hello Baby Collection.

Thanks for stopping by.  I have a great week!

Remember Today Layout

Hello friends! Today I have a second blog post and when I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll, so everything has to wait and I go and create.  For this layout, I used a free digital cut file from Paper Issues and cut it with my Cameo and added lots of papers from Bella Blvd.'s Lucky Starz Collection as well as Bella Blvd.'s Tiny Tots Collection.

I loved this cut file and immediately knew that I wanted to scrapbook a school themed page.  This little guy began preschool last September and he was so excited.

I backed the card stock background paper with lots and lots of paper scraps trying to use some bright and some muted papers to balance the layout.  After that I hand cut the photo and popped it up with some pop dots as well as some stickers.  The title was fussy cut and then I dabbed some mist and embellished with stickers, a button and a crochet heart for good measure.

Thanks for stopping by again! Have a wonderful day!

Summer Peonies Layout

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday! Today I wanted to share a summer layout to help get out of those winter doldrums.  I love to garden and grew up in a family that loves flowers and gardening.  One of my favorite flowers are Peonies.  I thought I would create a layout using some Echo Park Summer Bliss  patterned papers and stickers and use my Silhouette Cameo and to cut some flower die cuts (Circle Scribbles #62308 in the Silhouette Online Store) out of white card stock and back them up with some patterned paper for more interest.

I was inspired by a sketch at over at Paper Issues and played along with Sketchy Saturday Sketch  #4 and kept true to the sketch except I added flower shapes instead of circles.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Hello everyone!  If you are looking for the blog hop, kindly go here.

Today is reveal day at Stuck?! Sketches for the August 15 sketch.

Recently I visited my older children and their spouses, who live a few hours away.  I snapped these photos of my daughter and printed them in the 2X3 size. I also rotated the sketch by turning it to the right.  For the patterned papers and stickers,  I used Bella Blvd. Scattered Sprinkles Collection as well as some stickers and a crochet heart.  I also added some heart enamel dots.

Spotlighted Today At Paper Issues!

Happy Wednesday friends!  It's going to be a scorcher here today but I'll take it without complaining as the winters where I live are so long.

Today I got a very nice surprise as I was reading blogs. My layout Anchors Away was spotlighted at Paper Issues!

I linked up this layout for the "In The Navy Challenge" that Paper Issues has going on. I love anything nautical or about the ocean.  In fact, I have a lot of home decor in the nautical/beach theme.  I find it calming…

Well that's my news for the day.  I hope you have a great one.  Thanks for stopping by!

Anchors Away Layout

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a great day so far.  Today I wanted to share a layout that I created for the June Challenge at Creative Embellishments as well as the "In The Navy" Challenge going on at Paper Issues.   That song is so catchy! The challenge is to create something nautical and I had the perfect photos and papers for both challenges.  Also, I have been hoarding some nautical chipboard pieces for quite a while so it was a no brainer to use them.

Here are some more detailed closeups of my page.  I dabbed a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Paint,  in Picket Fence, over the corrugated background paper to give it more of a weathered look.  The chipboard pieces were first covered with embossing powder and then I brushed some distress paint to give them more of a weathered look as well.  The title was cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  My husband and I love the ocean and this was such a fun day at the Comox Marina looking at all the sailboats and boats.

This layout was created from a sketch designed by Sue Sykes for the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for June.  I flipped the sketch to the right.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Thanks for visiting my blog.  Have a great day!
