Beach Waves Layout

Hello friends! Happy Saturday!  Today I was creating in my studio and I had some fun making a layout with some paint dabbers and hand stitching.  My son was only eight years old when I took this photo of him running into the lake on a hot summer day.

I painted a "frame" around the photo with four colors and then added some hand stitching in four similar colors of DMC embroidery floss.

There are also some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons.

I fussy cut some circles from Echo Park's Summer Bliss Collection and embellished the circles with some sequins.

The title "Beach Waves" is from Just Nick Digital Cut Files.  I die cut the title with my Silhouette Cameo on white card stock and used paint dabbers to color the die cuts instead of looking for some colored card stock.  I think they turned out very well and they coordinate nicely with the colors of the layout.

I played along with Sketch #107 over at My Scraps And More.

I hope you are inspired to create a layout with some hand stitching and some paint dabbers.  Have a great day!

Hello friends!  Happy Friday!  Today is the monthly Scrapping Our Stash Blog Hop where a few  scrapbookers get together and have a blog hop just for fun.  The only stipulation is that older product (Pre CHA) in our stash must be used.  You should have arrived here from Wendy's blog, but here is a list just in case:

Lee-Anne http://lee-annelovethejourney.blogspot.com  YOU ARE HERE

For this month, I created a summer layout using some older papers and stickers from the Echo Park Summer Bliss Collection as well as some flair from A Flair For Buttons and some wood veneers from Creative Embellishments.

For the wood veneer suns from Creative Embellishments, I inked them up with some Tim Holtz's Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink, cut a swirl flower on my Cameo and added a flair button from A Flair For Buttons to the center.  There are some sequins and enamel dots sprinkled here and there and to give it a carefree feel to the page I went with some twine that I stapled in place to accent the card stock background.  I also fussy cut the popsicles and circles.  Nothing fancy but had fun creating it.

Well there you have it!  This is the end of the hop  Weren't there some fantastic projects?  I hope you were inspired to get creative.  Thanks for hopping and have a wonderful weekend!

Summertime Layout

Hello friends! Today is my turn at Creative Embellishments and I have created a summer layout using lots of stickers, wood veneer and chipboard embellishments.

For the wood veneer sun, from the Sunny Days set,  I sprayed it with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine Mist in Mustard Yellow

I popped up lots of stickers from and added some black ink lines to make it stand out more.  The stickers and papers are from the Echo Park Summer Bliss Collection.  I also added some sequins here and there and some mist splatters.

For the wood veneer Butterflies, I began by spraying them with some mist, letting them dry and then added an outline with a black pen and some black dots.

For the Summertime chipboard title, I heat embossed it with black embossing powder.

Finally I added a flair button and some alpha letter stickers.

This layout is very embellishment heavy but I'm happy how it turned out as I wanted it to be fun.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure and stop by the online store at Creative Embellishments for the chipboard and wood veneer embellishments (as shown) and many more goodies.

Summer Peonies Layout

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday! Today I wanted to share a summer layout to help get out of those winter doldrums.  I love to garden and grew up in a family that loves flowers and gardening.  One of my favorite flowers are Peonies.  I thought I would create a layout using some Echo Park Summer Bliss  patterned papers and stickers and use my Silhouette Cameo and to cut some flower die cuts (Circle Scribbles #62308 in the Silhouette Online Store) out of white card stock and back them up with some patterned paper for more interest.

I was inspired by a sketch at over at Paper Issues and played along with Sketchy Saturday Sketch  #4 and kept true to the sketch except I added flower shapes instead of circles.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy your day!

Birthday Cake Card

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a quick birthday card that I created for my daughter-in-law.

For this card I used a design that is at the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it on my Silhouette Cameo on some Echo Park Paper's Summer Bliss Collection of patterned papers and then adhered some sequins, stamped the happy birthday sentiment on some white card stock and wrapped some twine.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  I think I will be making many more cards in the future to use up some of my scraps and use my Silhouette Cameo even more.  Thanks for stopping by!
