Creative Embellishments Brothers Layout For CSI No. 162

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday!  Today I would like to share my layout that I created for the guest designer spot at CSI Color, Stories, Inspiration.  The design team at Creative Embellishments have been  guest designing for the month of April over at CSI and it has been lots of fun and I found it quite the creative challenge.  If you haven't played along at CSI and need to boost your creative imagination, then I urge you to check it out.  Here is the inspiration photo that I created for Case No. 162:

CSI Case No. 162

I added metal, circles, stars, stripes, solid background labels, ink/paint and die cuts from the "Elements" column. For the second column, I chose "Presentation" so I journaled on a punched paper circle and tucked it inside a library card pocket. For the third column, which is the "Colors",  I used aqua, black, bright red, buttery yellow and pale blue as seen on the inspiration photo above.

I began my layout with a white 12 X 12 piece of card stock.  I used the Creative Embellishments Star Background Stamp with some Ranger Light Blue Embossing Powder and heat embossed the card stock. I took a black paint dabber (Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Black Soot) and created paint splats.  Next, I stamped with the Creative Embellishments Distressed Grid Background Stamp in Tim Holtz Red Barn Distress Ink and also Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.  For the Creative Embellishments Star Frame, I painted it in Ranger Lemonade Acrylic Paint and painted the #Boys Chipboard word in Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Paint.

For the title "Brothers" I stamped with some Prima Alphabet Stamps in Tim Holtz Red Barn Distress Ink.

To complete the embellishing, I added some arrow embellishments from Pinkfresh Studios to direct the eye to the smaller photos as well as some Creative Embellishments Chipboard Stars that I painted in Ranger Aqua Acrylic Paint and then heat embossed them with some Ranger Black Embossing Powder and the Creative Embellishments Text Background Stamp.  Finally I added some Fancy Pants Oh Deer Red Sequins and some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons and some machine stitching below the title.

This is somewhat of a sad blog post for me as this is my last layout for my seven month term at Creative Embellishments.  It has been an amazing creative journey and I have loved meeting and creating alongside such lovely ladies whom I call friends. I am sure you are going to love what the new team and new term brings coming in May.

Thanks for following my blog and have a creative day!

Creative Embellishments April 2015 Challenge

Hello friends!  Today is April Fool's Day and it's also a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  For the April challenge, I was inspired by flowers and butterflies so I created this grid style layout.  Spring is my favorite season because, where I live, the trees, flowers and grass come alive.  It’s a time for renewal.

For my layout, I painted the white cardstock background with some acrylic paint dabbers and then used the Distressed Chicken Wire Stamp on the right hand side.

For the title, I fussy cut a letter out of some patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Love Notes Collection and then I added the Spring Love Chipboard of which I heat embossed with some gold embossing powder.  For the Be Mine Heart Frame,  I painted it white and dabbed on some pink paint. For the Hearts Panel Chipboard, I cut off a tiny section of the panel, painted it and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge

Hope you are inspired to join in for the April Challenge!  For this challenge, anything goes so what inspires you about the inspiration photo. If you link up your creation to the Creative Embellishments April Challenge, you have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from the Creative Embellishments store.  Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Cake Card

Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a quick birthday card that I created for my daughter-in-law.

For this card I used a design that is at the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it on my Silhouette Cameo on some Echo Park Paper's Summer Bliss Collection of patterned papers and then adhered some sequins, stamped the happy birthday sentiment on some white card stock and wrapped some twine.

I hope you enjoyed my card.  I think I will be making many more cards in the future to use up some of my scraps and use my Silhouette Cameo even more.  Thanks for stopping by!

All Boy Layout

Hello friends! Happy Thursday! Today I am sharing a layout I created for Creative Embellishments.

For my layout, I wanted to create a masculine layout of this handsome little guy using lots of stars as my main design element.  I painted the Stars In My Universe Frame with several acrylic paints that coordinated with the star patterned paper.

For the background, I used the Grunge Stars Stamp with some black archival ink to give the background some texture.  I also used my electronic die cutting machine to cut some stars from silver foil paper.

Finally, I finished my layout with some stickers, letter stickers and a flair button.  I used the Max Collection by Bella Blvd. for the patterned papers and stickers and a flair button by A Flair For Buttons.  The silver foil paper from Fancy Pants Designs was cut on the Cameo.  I used a cut file for the stars from The Cut Shoppe and cut it apart.

I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a wonderful day!

A Valentine's Mixed Media Layout

Hello friends!  Today I am sharing a layout of my daughter and I when she was a year old. This was so freeing to create because usually I have design team assignments and this one was just for the sake of creating.

I used a stencil and some modelling paste to create the brick background and some Tim Holtz Stamps and also pulled out my Cuttlebug and used a Sizzix die to create the book page flowers.  The background is inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive and Worn Lipstick.  Yes it's a little embellishment heavy, but it was fun to create.  I used lots of flowers and some wood embellishments that I inked and stamped to give more interest.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Snowman Banner

Happy day!  It's Lee-Anne here and today I am sharing a winter/Christmas banner that I created with Susan K. Weckesser's awesome One Of A Kind Winter Snowman Stamp.  I love this stamp and I love snowmen (if you saw inside my home, you would agree) and I wanted to create a banner that could be doubled as a Christmas banner or a winter banner.  I thought it would be perfect on my fireplace mantle.
