Day Three Of The 12 Days Of Giveaways

Hello friends! It's Day 3 of the 12 Days of Giveaways at Just Nick Digital Cut Files.

For the first twelve days there will be a FREE cut file each day to download and use on your projects, but remember, the free download is only for that day until midnight CST. After that, the cut file is available for purchase in the online store.

Today I am sharing this layout here and on the Just Nick blog using the fabulous Fallen Snow cut file.

For this layout, I cut the Fallen Snow cut file out on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and heat embossed it with Crystal Embossing Powder by Stampendous and then added some stickers to the center of each snowflake.

For the papers and stickers, I used the new Carta Bella Christmas Delivery Collection.  I love this rustic collection!  The buffalo check is my crush at the moment.

The free cut file for today is the Fallen Snow

Use code SNOWFREE

The code is only good until midnight December 3, 2016 CST.

I hope you enjoyed my layout. Be sure and check back tomorrow for the next free cut file at Just Nick Digital Cut Files.

Thanks for stopping by and have a creative day!

Joy Card And Merry Christmas Card

Hello friends! For the past week, Just Nick Digital Cut Files has been showcasing cards on their blog.  I thought I would get a head start on my Christmas cards so I decided to create two cards using some of Just Nick's fabulous cut files. As you can see, they aren't just for layouts, they can make some great cards too.
For the Joy Card, I cut out the word "joy" from the Holiday Sentiments cut files with my Silhouette Cameo on black card stock and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. I added some ribbon, machine stitching, red enamel dots, and a red flair button from A Flair For Buttons. The "joy to the world" black text circle was fussy cut from some patterned paper (Bella Blvd. Christmas Illustrated Faith Collection) and also heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
For the Merry Christmas Card, I cut out the Merry Merry Background 2 cut file on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and cut it down to fit the width of the card and centered it on the front of the card and glued it to the background paper. The Christmas tree was also cut out of the black and white tree patterned paper with my Silhouette Cameo from the Tree Trio cut files. Enamel dots and a green felt bow complete the card.
I hope you are inspired to try some cards today.  Have a great day!

Creative Embellishments Brothers Layout For CSI No. 162

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday!  Today I would like to share my layout that I created for the guest designer spot at CSI Color, Stories, Inspiration.  The design team at Creative Embellishments have been  guest designing for the month of April over at CSI and it has been lots of fun and I found it quite the creative challenge.  If you haven't played along at CSI and need to boost your creative imagination, then I urge you to check it out.  Here is the inspiration photo that I created for Case No. 162:

CSI Case No. 162

I added metal, circles, stars, stripes, solid background labels, ink/paint and die cuts from the "Elements" column. For the second column, I chose "Presentation" so I journaled on a punched paper circle and tucked it inside a library card pocket. For the third column, which is the "Colors",  I used aqua, black, bright red, buttery yellow and pale blue as seen on the inspiration photo above.

I began my layout with a white 12 X 12 piece of card stock.  I used the Creative Embellishments Star Background Stamp with some Ranger Light Blue Embossing Powder and heat embossed the card stock. I took a black paint dabber (Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Black Soot) and created paint splats.  Next, I stamped with the Creative Embellishments Distressed Grid Background Stamp in Tim Holtz Red Barn Distress Ink and also Tim Holtz Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink.  For the Creative Embellishments Star Frame, I painted it in Ranger Lemonade Acrylic Paint and painted the #Boys Chipboard word in Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Paint.

For the title "Brothers" I stamped with some Prima Alphabet Stamps in Tim Holtz Red Barn Distress Ink.

To complete the embellishing, I added some arrow embellishments from Pinkfresh Studios to direct the eye to the smaller photos as well as some Creative Embellishments Chipboard Stars that I painted in Ranger Aqua Acrylic Paint and then heat embossed them with some Ranger Black Embossing Powder and the Creative Embellishments Text Background Stamp.  Finally I added some Fancy Pants Oh Deer Red Sequins and some flair buttons from A Flair For Buttons and some machine stitching below the title.

This is somewhat of a sad blog post for me as this is my last layout for my seven month term at Creative Embellishments.  It has been an amazing creative journey and I have loved meeting and creating alongside such lovely ladies whom I call friends. I am sure you are going to love what the new team and new term brings coming in May.

Thanks for following my blog and have a creative day!

Creative Embellishments April 2015 Challenge

Hello friends!  Today is April Fool's Day and it's also a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  For the April challenge, I was inspired by flowers and butterflies so I created this grid style layout.  Spring is my favorite season because, where I live, the trees, flowers and grass come alive.  It’s a time for renewal.

For my layout, I painted the white cardstock background with some acrylic paint dabbers and then used the Distressed Chicken Wire Stamp on the right hand side.

For the title, I fussy cut a letter out of some patterned paper from the We R Memory Keepers Love Notes Collection and then I added the Spring Love Chipboard of which I heat embossed with some gold embossing powder.  For the Be Mine Heart Frame,  I painted it white and dabbed on some pink paint. For the Hearts Panel Chipboard, I cut off a tiny section of the panel, painted it and heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder.

Here is the inspiration photo for the challenge

Hope you are inspired to join in for the April Challenge!  For this challenge, anything goes so what inspires you about the inspiration photo. If you link up your creation to the Creative Embellishments April Challenge, you have a chance to win a $50 gift certificate from the Creative Embellishments store.  Good luck and thanks for stopping by!

Lucky

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Thanks for stopping by.  I was playing around with my Silhouette Cameo and my watercolors and thought I would create a layout of my husband and I on our 15th wedding anniversary last September so beware, this layout is mushy. LOL.

I was inspired by a layout by Nicole Nowosad recently and loved the way she used a Silhouette Sketch Pen and created a background.  I decided to go with it and put my own spin on it.

This took a while to create but I was in no hurry.  It was simply fun!

I heat embossed some Creative Embellishments Chipboard and also used my Silhouette Cameo and a black sketch pen to create the "Lucky" background and then used several shades of blue and green watercolours to fill in the letters.  I cut the title "Lucky" on my Silhouette as well.  This cut file is from The Cut Shoppe.  The shamrocks and the hearst were also cut on my Silhouette Cameo but first I added several washi tape strips over card stock and cut it out on my Cameo.  The top section of the white card stock background was simply watercolored with watercolor paints and water.

I don't journal very often on my layouts, but added some journaling strips that I printed out with my printer.

Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you have a wonderful day!

Stuck?! Sketches January 15, 2015 Sketch

Hello friends! Today is the January 15 Sketch Reveal at Stuck?! Sketches and I wanted to share a layout of a special member of my family….Sheldon.  He loved the Christmas ribbon but doesn't like wearing it.  I snapped this photo as quickly as I could.  Doesn't he look handsome?

I used the DIY Christmas Collection from Simple Stories for the papers on this layout as well as some flair from A Flair For Buttons and a cute chipboard "present" from Creative Embellishments that I heat embossed with some gold and red embossing powder.  For the title, I cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo.  Here is the sketch that I worked with designed by the fabulous Laura Whitaker.

You have a chance to win some great prizes if you link up your own layout by January 29 with the above sketch at Stuck?! Sketches.  All the details are here.

There is a $25 gift certificate to Creative Embellishments, whom I also design for and let me tell you, they have wonderful chipboard, wood and flair embellishments as well as some cool stamps!

There is also a chance for a second winner to win a prize pack from Linnie Blooms.
