Hello scrappy friends! If you are here for the Practical Scrappers/Paper Secrets Blog Hop please go here or scroll down to the post below this post.
I am honoured and excited to share my layout that was published in the 2013 Fall Issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine.
My layout is on page 136 which will be in newstands all across Canada September 1.
For this layout I created from a sketch for design team work at Scrapbook Challenges. I love sunflowers. This particular layout I created with the Sugar Hill Collection by Farmhouse Paper Company. My Silhouette Cameo was used to cut the wheat behind the title and also the border at the bottom of the layout. The background was created using a scoring board and some walnut stain that I spritzed all over the white card stock.
Thank you for letting me share my layout and my good news. I would urge all my Canadian scrappy friends to submit your work to Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine. Don't be shy!
Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine is a printed magazine that is published four times a year by Canadians and for Canadians, but that doesn't mean that you can't subscribe to this awesome magazine if you are international. Canadian Scrapbooker welcomes international subscribers as well. If you are wanting to subscribe digitally or have one come to your door, click here.
Have a wonderful day and hopefully you have time to do what you love!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #348
Hello scrappy friends! I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend.
Today I am sharing my layout that I created for Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #348. I really loved this sketch and love the hexagon trend.
It got my creative juices flowing and right now I'm on a nautical kick and thought that I would use some papers from a 2010 collection of October Afternoon's Seaside Collection. This collection makes me think of my summer vacation last year on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. Such a pretty place. We spent some time in Comox to visit family and took a walk down to the Comox Marina.
All the hexagons were cut on the Silhouette Cameo and I also did some machine stitching. Don't forget to check out all the other design team members take on the sketch here.
Thanks for popping in today and I hope you have some time to get scrappy this week.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #342 |
I wanted to do a playful layout of my daughter and her silly faces. She cracks me up all the time!
I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pie charts, the title and the vellum clouds and then used my sewing machine and stitched the title and clouds to keep them in place. The patterned papers are from the Echo Park Sweet Girl Collection, the flair button is from The Paper Bakery and the washi tape is from Doodlebug Designs .
I hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch and would love to see what you do with the sketch. Come play along with us at Scrapbook Challenges and upload your creation to our gallery.
Have a great day!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #341
Hello friends! I hope you had a lovely weekend full of things you enjoy doing. Today at Scrapbook Challenges we are revealing the following sketch:
I love this sketch and knew exactly what I wanted to scrapbook. This past Easter, my father-in-law came for dinner and his favorite pie is apple pie. Doodlebug Designs Fruit Stand collection have the perfect papers and stickers that I love and thought would be perfect for this layout.
This layout was fun to do. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the letters "baking" and backed each of the letters with scraps.
I hope you enjoyed my layout and thanks for stopping by. Come see what the other ladies on the Sketch Crew created at Scrapbook Challenges.
Have a great week!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #340
Hello everyone!
Today is Monday and that means that Scrapbook Challenges has another sketch reveal!
I thought this was a great sketch to use up those paper scraps that you have in your stash. I chose to do a layout of a summer vacation from 2010 where we went to Osoyoos, British Columbia, which is the wine capital of Canada, and also has a very hot climate that makes it perfect for fruit orchards. Picking cherries on a 35 degree celscius day was quite the experience!
I bought a little cherry stamp from Michaels and stamped on the cardstock using my Faber Castell Big Brush Pitt Pens to colour the outline of the stamp in green and red and then placed My Mind's Eye Enamel Dots inside the cherries to add more interest and dimension.
There is also lots of washi tape to fill in those spaces to keep the layout balanced and used some twine and also a calendar sticker to place the date.
I wanted to create a unique title to my page so I used some twine and a fine glue pen and placed the twine down and spelled "picking" and then added an enamel dot to dot the "i". I then used some letter stickers and faux stitched around the word "picking". The colours green and red were used because of the colour of cherries.

I used a journal sticker and wrote the journaling with a red gel pen.
I love this photo of my husband and son heading out to pick some cherries.
I placed another journal sticker of our location

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #339
Good day to you all!
It feels good to be back creating and today at Scrapbook Challenges we are revealing a sweet little sketch for you
Below is a layout of my daughter that I photographed in March. I love the challenge of circles and used circles in my title. I cut the flower, camera and the title "Grateful" with my Silhouette Cameo on vellum. This is the first time I have attempted to cut vellum with my Cameo and I think it turned out really well.
I used some patterned papers, stickers, buttons, and letter stickers from the Park Bench Collection from Fancy Pants Designs for this layout and also some enamal dots from My Mind's Eye. Here are more closeups of my layout
Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I hope you find time to be creative in some way. You can see more of the design team layouts for Sketch #339 here.
Have an awesome day!
