Hawaii Makes Me Happy

Hello friends! Today I thought I would share a third layout that I created a somewhat mixed media layout with the June Creative Kit at My Creative Scrapbook.  I went on a scrapbooking/photography cruise with 80 lovely ladies from mostly Canada and the U.S.A. to Hawaii back in 2012. We travelled to Oahu, Maui, Kahai and the Big Island of Hawaii.

I used the packaging technique for my background with watercolors that coordinated with the beautiful patterned papers from the Pebbles Sunshiny Days Collection. I love all the papers, ephemera, and stickers from this collection.

I fussy cut several flowers from the floral paper and placed them around the circular design.  I also machine stitched to adhere the chipboard title to the layout with yellow thread.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure and check out all the beautiful kits at My Creative Scrapbook. Have an awesome day!

Once In A Lifetime

Hello friends! Today on the A Flair For Buttons blog I am sharing a layout using the Just Cruising Flair.

A few years back, I went on a scrapbooking and photography cruise to Hawaii and toured the islands of Kauai, Maui, Hawaii and Oahu.  It was a trip of a lifetime!

For my layout I used a digital cut file from Just Nick Digital Cut Files, some papers and stickers from the Carta Bella Travel Stories Collection, and also some wood veneers from Studio Calico that I have had in my stash for a while.  To complete the layout, I added some sequins to the "water".

Here is the fabulous Just Cruising Flair:

Practical Scrappers April Blog Hop - Use Our Stash

Hello friends!  You should have arrived here from the talented Audrey Yeager, but if not you can start back at the top of the list which is the Practical Scrappers blog.

Practical Scrappers http:practicalscrappers.blogspot.com
Lee-Anne Thornton http://lee-annelovethejourney.blogspot.com YOU ARE HERE
Today we are scrapping our stash and scrapbookers always have some goodies that haven't been used so now it's the perfect time to pull out your stash and create something.  For some inspiration, come hop along.

I have created a layout on my Hawaii cruise that I went on in November 2012 with about 100 other obsessed scrapbookers and photographers.  What an experience!  We went to four islands.  This photo was at Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I used the Lucy's Crab Shack Collection of papers by Bazzill Basics Paper, my Silhouette Cameo to cut the tags, title and wave border and my ancient sewing machine.  I finally finished it off with some enamel dots, some fussy cut flowers and some wood embellishments.

I was inspired by a sketch by Susan Stringfellow.

Thanks for stopping by and now it's time to be inspired by another talented scrapper, Suzanna Lee.

Have a creative day!

A Hawaii Layout To Share

Last week, I was on a scrapbooking/photography cruise in Hawaii with Allison Orthner, Jill Hildebrand, and Christy Riopel. What an adventure!  There were around 70 ladies from all across Canada and a sweet lady from the U.S. Some brought their significant others, their families, some went with friends, and some went as singles. It was fantastic!

I must admit, I didn't do much scrapbooking, but I did take lots of photos which I will share soon.  For now, I wanted to share a layout that I created.  One night we had a challenge to select some patterned papers, card stock and embellishments and create a layout in one hour.  Now this is a challenge for me as I am a very slow scrapbooker and quite often leave a layout as a work in progress and come back an hour or two later to add some more details.  Here is the layout I created from some patterned papers from Susan Weckesser.

Waikiki Beach, Honolulu Hawaii

I used my black ink pen to outline the white cardstock and flowers.

It makes me want to be back there in the beauty and warmth of Hawaii.  Vacations always go way too fast.  Have a great day!
