Winter Smiles Layout

Hello friends! I hope your week is off to a good start.  Today I wanted to share a double page layout that I created from a sketch designed by Debbie Sanders.  I don't create enough double page layouts and I love the way I can get so many photos on a double page layout.

For this layout,  I added lots of photos and painted some of the white card stock squares and background with watercolour paints and also dabbed a water pen in some Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  There are some wood veneer embellishments that I kept natural because I liked the contrast it gave the layout.  I love blues and these two collections by Bo Bunny (Powder Mountain, Noteworthy) are perfect for winter layouts.  I also did some fussy cutting and machine stitching.

Do you like to create double page layouts?  They can be a little intimidating for me but sometimes I like to create something out of my comfort zone.  Have a wonderful day!

A Layout Published in Scrapbook And Cards Today

Hello friends! Today I am so honoured and excited to share that I have my first layout published in the Winter 2014 Issue of Scrapbook And Cards Today! The layout I created is of this handsome little guy.  My good friend Stephanie Kuzio snapped these beautiful photos.  The full page layout can be found on Page 67.

I used an Echo Park Paper Collection called Keepin' Cozy for the patterned papers and stickers and cut the snowflake frame and the title (from the Silhouette America Online Store) on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo and then "painted" the title with some Heidi Swapp Colorshine Mist and also some splatters.  Finally I added some wood embellishments.  This layout was inspired by a sketch designed by Kristine Davidson.

The Scrapbook And Cards Today Winter 2014 Magazine can be downloaded here.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
