Some October Main And Creative Kit Layouts For My Creative Scrapbook

I am sharing 2 layouts I created for the month of October with My Creative Scrapbook, one each from the Main and Creative kits.

Lots of Amy Tangerine's Oh Happy Life Collection in the October Main Kit.  This layout is of my dad who celebrated his 80th birthday and when I saw this collection, I knew I wanted to use it for this reason.  The VW van papers are so cute for a masculine layout.

Also, I created some layouts and cards with the October Creative Kit and I loved creating with it.  Doodlebug Designs came out with this new collection (Flea Market) of everything autumn, fall and pumpkins.  Love it!

October Sneak Peeks At My Creative Scrapbook

Hello friends! Happy October 1!  I always say once the students are back in school it seems like no time until it's Christmas.

Today is the October kits sneak peeks at My Creative Scrapbook.  I created five layouts this month and here are my sneak peeks.  I used the Main Kit for these.

This kit was a lot of fun to work with.  The full reveal of all the kits for October will be on October 5.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine October Sketchy Challenge

Hello scrappy friends!  As I am writing this blog post, there is a snow storm in my area and I am enjoying the coziness with the fireplace.   One thing that I know for sure, is that it's perfect weather  for scrapbooking and that's what I  did this past weekend.

Every month at Canadian Scrapbooker, there is a sketch challenge.  For October's Sketchy Challenge, Sue Sykes,  designed the sketch and I got busy creating a layout of this adorable pair.  Hanna likes to wink at the moment and this brother and sister team look so adorable in their Fall clothes.  Here's the sketch.

Here is what I came up with.

Wink Wink
Cardstock - American Crafts
Chipboard Letters - American Crafts
Chipboard Pumpkin - Creative Embellishments
Corrugated Shapes - Maya Road
Distress Stain and Paints - Tim Holtz
Embellishments - Elsies
Kraft Doily - Maya Road
Letter Stickers and Labels - October Afternoon
Mists - October Afternoon Sprinklers
Patterned Paper - October Afternoon
Pearls - Prima
Pen - Marvy Uchida
Sewing Machine Stitching
Twine - Unknown

The background is misted with several October Afternoon Sprinklers and I also misted the chipboard letters for the title with mists too.

I am loving the wood embellishments at the moment and placed a few of these cute little birds on the page as well as some corrugated shapes wrapped with twine to give more texture and interest to the layout.
Finally I used some paint and stain and tinted the chipboard pumpkin shape and added some twine
Well there you have it.  A Fall page of these two cuties that are my daughter's niece and nephew.  I love scrapping them.  They always make me smile.

There is still time to participate in the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine October Sketchy Challenge.  The deadline to upload your layout is October 31.  Here is the link.

Have an awesome day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Scrapbook Challenges October Featured Member Scraplift

At Scrapbook Challenges we love our members and for the month of October, we are featuring Phillis who is always active on the boards and gallery, and participates in many of our challenges.  We wanted to honor her by scraplifting some of her creations.  I chose to scraplift her layout "Madeline & Jailey".

Aunt Mary

I also inked all the hexagon shapes in Black Soot as well and popped some up with dimensional adhesive for extra dimension.

I typed the journaling in Word and cut out paper strips and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Black Soot.

The title was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  I cut the letters four times and stacked them, glued them together with Glossy Accents to give them extra dimension and finally applied Glossy Accents to the top of the letters for even more dimension.

This layout is of my husband's amazing Aunt Mary.  She is 92 years old and spent 30 years as a nurse serving the people of Ethiopia and Kenya.  She has quite the stories to tell.

Thanks for stopping by and check out Scrapbook Challenges blog for our feature on Phillis.  Who knows, you might be the next member that we feature so be sure and sign up.
