Decorating For Christmas

Hello friends! It's so close to Christmas and this year I have taken a special liking to decorating my home. I thought I would share some photos of my tree this year.

I wanted decorate my living room in non-traditional colors. I love the red, green and white, but I wanted to be a little different so I went for teal, which has to be one of my favorite colors, lime green or citron, silver, and pearl.

Pier One Imports had these beautiful angel wings. They are so soft and I thought they would add some softness to the tree since there is a lot of texture going on. I also bought lots of tree picks this year. Some were from Michael's, and some were from a beautiful greenhouse that decorates their store in Christmas decor this time of year. I picked up some cute white doves that clip onto the branches as well. Syd my dog wants to help. Haha!

This is what my living room looks like at night. The blue lights give it a unique glow and the tree looks totally different at night.

I had a wreath that was decorated in the same ornaments as the tree, so I placed it on top of my picture hanging over the fireplace. For my mantle, I added a flocked snow garland with clear lights, some silver stocking hangers and stockings, some ribbon trees that I crafted a few years ago and a tree and lamp that lights up.

Every year I make at least one new purchase to add to holiday decor. I spotted this adorable candle at Bowrings that lights up and the glitter swirls around inside when it is turned on.

The exterior of my home is also decorated in blue and white. This year my husband added these Kaleidoscope LED lights that project a design onto the exterior. It looks like water reflecting. I love them!

Yay! It snowed a little this week! There was a lot of snow here in November, but it all melted and there has been record breaking temperatures this December so far. Hopefully it won't be a brown Christmas and it will snow a lot on Christmas Eve after all the travellers are at their destinations.

Maybe next year I will add a tree to my kitchen! My home is rustic, so I think I will add a small tree with kitchen tools, buffalo plaid and woodsy ornaments.

I also decorated my studio with a pink tree and some items that I have crafted ovcr the years. Maybe soon I will add a post of my studio. It has to be tidy first. Haha!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. I hope you and your families have a wonderful time this Christmas full of health, happiness and new adventures for 2018.

Happy Holidays!

Halloween Frames With 3D Shimmers Lighted Embellishments

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a fun Halloween home decor project over at Paper House Productions.

For my project I created some scary frames to place on my shelf in my studio with the new 3D Shimmers Lighted Embellishments.  They are so cool! I love that I can press them any time and they light up.

Halloween Frames Supply List
You will need:
3 - black 8 X 8 inch frames (I used shadow box frames that come in a 3 pack at Michael's but they don't have to be shadow box frames)
Adhesive - (I used my ATG gun)
Large Paper Trimmer
Paper House Productions Supplies (listed below)
I began with three (3) black - 8 inch by 8 inch square frames and cut my patterned papers down to 7 1/2 inches by 7 1/2 inches and adhered them on top of the glass.

I added my 3D Shimmer Lighted Embellishments about one inch from the top of the frame and made sure they were centered and stuck them down also being sure that the ribbon for each of the Shimmers were tucked underneath. This way if you want to repurpose them for hanging in the future, you still are able to use them.

To complete each frame, I added some 3D stickers on the top middle area of each frame and also added some stickers to the paper area and also added the word stickers from the Scary Sculpted Sticker set to the bottom middle of each frame.

I hope you enjoyed my project and are inspired to use these wonderful 3D Shimmers Lighted Embellishments on your next project.  Be sure and check out all the wonderful products at Paper House Productions for your next home decor project. Happy creating!

3D Wall Art

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a home decor project over at Paper House Productions using the gorgeous new Colorways Atlantis Collection.

This collection of patterned papers happens to be one of my favorite colors and I thought I would create a 3D wall art to hang in my bedroom.

This home decor project really came together quickly.  I purchased a white sheet of foam board from the dollar store to adhere the patterned papers on.

For the patterned papers I used:

2 sheets - P-3073
1 sheet - P-3075
1 sheet - P-3076
2 sheets - P-3077
2 sheets - P-3078
2 sheets - P-3079
2 sheets - P-3080

Using a paper trimmer, I cut the 12X12 sheets of Colorways Atlantis patterned papers to a 6X12 inch size.  I then cut that size in half to 6X6 inch squares.

I took my bone folder and folded the 6X6 inch squares diagonally.

Next I added the 6X6 squares of patterned papers being sure to not add the same pattern next to each other.  As you can see from the photos above, I only adhered either the top or bottom of the diagonal line of each 6X6 square of paper.  I made sure that there was no white space showing from the foam board beneath the papers so to be sure, I added 6X6 squares to the backside of the papers that were sticking up.  I tried to keep a consistent pattern of a diamond shape as you can see from the photos.

I am really happy how it turned out and I have it hanging over my bed.

I hope you are inspired to try something new and create your own 3D wall art for your home.  Be sure to check out the Colorways Atlantis Collection as well as all the other collections at Paper House Productions in the store here.

Thanks for stopping by.
