My Creative Scrapbook Ribbon Banner Tutorial

Hello scrappy friends!  It has been a pleasure to be guest designing for February and March over at My Creative Scrapbook and today I am sharing a tutorial on how to make a ribbon banner for this layout of my mom's 75th birthday.

Let's begin…

Cut the straw from the kit down to 4 inches in length and set aside.
Cut 3 strips of  red ribbon  1 1/2 inches in length and 4 strips of yellow ribbon 2 inches in length.  Using a strong adhesive glue one end of the ribbon

Wrap pieces of ribbon around straw

Alternate red and yellow ribbon strips and trim bottom edges to look like banners as shown.

Once all seven strips of ribbon are adhered to the straw sew across the ribbon just below the straw and secure edges.

Take a paper piercer and pierce a hole on each end of the straw

and attach a large red brad to each end.

Take your hot glue gun and secure the finished ribbon banner to the top left hand corner of the layout.

Add two small yellow brads as shown and also wrap and tie a bow around each large red brad.

Your banner is done!
