My Creative Scrapbook November Tutorial

Hello! I hope you have been enjoying all the inspiration that the design team has been providing over at My Creative Scrapbook. Today I wanted to share a tutorial on how I created this layout with the November Creative Kit.

My Creative Scrapbook November 2017 Creative Kit

You will need:

Basic Supply List

12 inch ruler
Adhesive foam squares
Bendable ruler (optional)
Fringe scissors (any papercrafting scissors can be used if you do not have fringe scissors)
Liquid adhesive (I use Tombow Mono Liquid Glue)
Paper trimmer
Pencil
Photo (4X6)
Tape runner adhesive (I use the Scotch ATG 714 but any tape runner adhesive will do)

November Creative Kit Supply List

Green Plaid patterned paper
Pinebough patterned paper
Woodgrain Snowflake patterned paper
1 - 3 1/2 X 3 1/2 piece of the border patterned paper (the paper to the right of the photo)
3 - wood snowflake pieces
Cardstock Stickers - (From the large sticker sheet) - I Love Winter Banner, Winter Memories, Bird, Buck, Sleigh, Snowflakes, Snowball Bucket
Chipboard Stickers - Cabin, Trees, "Snow Days Are The Best" Sticker

Instructions:

Using a paper trimmer, cut the green plaid patterned paper 12 inches by 3 1/2 inches.

Drawing freehand with a pencil or using a bendable ruler, draw a wavy line across the page along the bottom edge of the paper.

Cut along the pencil line with scissors.

With the fringe scissors, or with a regular scissors, cut fringe across the bottom of the green plaid patterned paper. Note: Be sure to not cut fringe more than an inch from the top edge of the plaid paper as this will be the border to adhere the fringe paper to the background paper.

Repeat with the woodgrain snowflake paper and cut two paper strips measuring 12 inches by 3 1/2 inches and draw a wavy line with a pencil or use a bendable ruler and draw a pencil line.

Cut out with scissors.

Cut fringe across the bottom of each paper strip leaving a one inch border on the top edge to adhere the strips to the background paper.

From the November Creative Kit, find the 12 inch X 12 inch sheet of pine bough patterned paper. This will be the background paper for the layout.

Adhere one of the woodgrain snowflake fringe paper strips to the top edge of the pinebough background paper.

Adhere the green plaid fringe paper strip approximately 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the background paper.

Add the bottom woodgrain snowflake patterned paper fringe strip to the bottom edge of the pinebough background patterned paper and adhere.

When the two woodgrain snowflake fringe paper strips and the one green plaid fringe paper strip are adhered to the pinebough patterned paper, it should look like the photo below.

Mat the 4 X 6 photo onto a piece of woodgrain snowflake paper and adhere.

Mat and adhere the photo and woodgrain snowflake paper onto a piece of green plaid paper.

Adhere the matted photo onto the pinebough paper about two inches from the left edge of the paper making sure that the photo is tucked behind the top and bottom fringe as shown below.

Place the border paper to the right of the photo and tuck it under the photo's edge and adhere.

Add the "I Love Winter" banner over the border paper as shown.

Add the "Snow Days Are The Best Days" chipboard sticker to the right of the "I Love Winter" banner sticker as shown below.

Add the "Winter Memories" sticker near the top right corner of the layout.

Add a wood snowflake, that is dabbed with liquid adhesive, below the sticker as shown.

Add the "green sleigh" sticker to the right of the "Snow Days Are The Best Days" chipboard sticker as shown below.

Add the two tree stickers below the sleigh popping up with some foam adhesive squares to layer the trees.

Add the "cabin" chipboard sticker to the left of the trees and to the bottom of the border paper and adhere.

Add another wood snowflake piece to the bottom of the layout onto the right edge of the green plaid paper fringe.

Add the "buck" sticker that is popped up with some foam adhesive squares to the bottom right corner of the layout and adhere.

Add a snowflake sticker and adhere.

Add the "bird" sticker, that is popped up with foam adhesive squares, to the snowflake sticker and to the left side of  the "buck" sticker.

Add the snowball bucket sticker to the bottom left corner of the photo and stick down.

Add a "pinebough sticker" and a small red "snowflake" sticker below the wood snowflake piece and adhere.

For the larger "snowflake" sticker, add a foam adhesive square to the backside of the sticker and adhere below the wood snowflake and beside the "snowball bucket" sticker.

The layout is now complete!

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and are inspired to try the fringe technique. I love the texture and interest it gives to this rustic layout.

Have a great day!

My Creative Scrapbook November Kits Reveal

Hello friends! Happy Sunday! Today is the November reveal of all four kits and you are going to love them. I know I sure do!

The design team did a fabulous job with the kits and I love each and everyone's signature style.

Here are the kits:

My Creative Scrapbook November Main Kit
My Creative Scrapbook November Creative Kit

My Creative Scrapbook November LE Kit

My Creative Scrapbook November Album Kit

Aren't they awesome? I love every single one of them.  To see what all the designers created with these kits, go here.

I created with the November Creative Kit and I must admit that it was one of my favorite kits this year. It has papers and embellishments from the Echo Park/Carta Bella Cabin Fever Collection. It's perfect for me because winter is definitely snowy in my area. I love the woodsy, rustic look to this kit. I created four layouts and 5 cards with this kit and just about used it up completely. Creating came easy with this one. Here is one of my layouts. I will be sharing a tutorial on this layout later this month so be sure and check back soon.

Thanks so much for stopping by and if you like what you saw, be sure to reserve your kits at My Creative Scrapbook today. Just click here to find out all the details on how to order a kit.

Bye for now.

Wizard Of Oz Layout

Hello friends! Today I am on the Paper House Productions blog sharing this Wizard Of Oz Layout using some papers and stickers from the Wizard Of Oz Collection.

Supply List
I wanted to add some texture and interest to the layout so I cut 12 X 1 inch strips of the Wizard Of Oz Poppies Paper and used a pair of fringe scissors to add fringe to the strips and adhered them to a 12X12 piece of white card stock starting at the bottom and working upwards.  I had a bare space on the top so I added border strips to the top.

Next I added some gold stickers to the layout that are included in the Wizard Of Oz Watercolors Paper Crafting Kit.

Finally, I added card stock stickers to the layout and gave the Wizard Of Oz characters some dimension by popping them up with some foam squares and adhering them to the fringe background.

There you have it.  A fringe layout.  I hope you are inspired to try this technique with the gorgeous Wizard Of Oz Collection and check out all the beautiful products at Paper House Productions.
Have a lovely day!
