Scrap It With A Song - Soak Up The Sun By Sheryl Crow

Happy Thursday!  Today the Rock Chicks are singing to the song "Soak Up The Sun" by Sheryl Crow.

I thought it would be great to scrapbook a layout of my son and husband enjoying some quality time at the beach.

I loved these photos and these were taken almost 5 years ago and I can't believe how my son has grown.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to play along and link up for May.

Have a good day!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #343

Good day everyone!  Today at Scrapbook Challenges there is another sketch reveal to get your mojo going.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #343
This sketch made me want to try a handmade chevron and this is what I came up with.  It's a layout of my Mom.

Adhesive - 3L Adhesive, Scotch
Cardstock - American Crafts
Diecuts - Rosette, Frame, Title -  Silhouette Cameo
Flair Button - The Paper Bakery
Mists - Heidi Swapp
Patterned Papers - The Paper Bakery
Twine - Doodlebug Designs

I used the Echo Park Dots and Stripes Collection, made the chevron by hand and cut the rosette and title with my Silhouette Cameo and spritzed the layout with Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!  Come see what the Sketch Crew at Scrapbook Challenges came up with here.

SWAT Girl For May - Tic Tac Toe

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Today at S.W.A.T. I am featured as the SWAT Girl for May.  I was very honoured to take part and had fun creating this layout for my good friend Anna who has the cutest little grandson.  This layout was the tic tac toe challenge and I created a layout based on the middle column which is stitching, chipboard and paint.  The outside edge of the black cardstock is machine stitched, the letters for the title are chipboard and I painted them with acrylic paint and also did the paint splats.  There is also a star background that I cut out of vellum with my Silhouette Cameo and used some of the stars to place around the layout.  Finally I added some enamel dots to the center of the vellum stars for more interest.

Adhesive - (Scotch, 3L Adhesive)
Cardstock - DCWV
Chipboard Letters - Maya Road
Enamel Dots - My Mind's Eye
Flair Button - The Paper Bakery
Labels -Dymo LetraTag
Paints - AdirondackAcrylic Paint Dabbers (Red Pepper, Pool, Sunshine Yellow)
Patterned Papers and Diecut Stickers - My Mind's Eye (Boy Crazy)
Vellum - Recollections

I hope you enjoyed my layout and are inspired to create.  Thank you SWAT for this lovely opportunity.   Come play along and link up to the challenge here.

Have a great day!

Sharing Some Recent Publications

Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing some layouts that have been published recently and some happy scrappy news.  This was exciting for me because they were the first layouts that I have published in Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine in the Spring 2013 issue.

And some more exciting news!  Two layouts of mine are going to be in the Summer 2013 issue that will be on the newstands around June 1. I was asked to participate in the front cover challenge for the Summer 2013 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!  I didn't make the front cover but made the other four takes on the front cover so I was extremely happy and honoured to be asked.

Well that's my happy scrappy news of late and I hope you have a fabulous day!
