Syd At 8 Weeks Old

Hello friends! Happy Thursday! I am honored that I was asked to contribute a layout for the June Page Maps along with a few design team members at Just Nick Digital Cut Files. If you are not familiar with Page Maps, it is a free sketch blog, by Becky Fleck, that has been around since 2006. Her free sketches for scrapbook layouts and cards are amazing and they can be seen here and also here at Scrapbook And Cards Today Magazine.

Today I am excited to share this layout of my puppy Syd when he was 8 weeks old. He is technically still a puppy even though he just turned one years old about two weeks ago and now weighs a whopping 70 pounds.

Creating pet layouts is pure fun for me. My fur babies are dear to my heart and I love the Puppy Love Collection of papers and die cuts by Doodlebug Designs.

I also added some the brown puppy flair button from the Good Dog Flair Set  and also the paw flair button from Cute Kitty Flair Set at A Flair For Buttons on my layout. Flair gives it the finishing touch. Don't you think?

It's always nice when I can put lots and lots of photos on a layout and Becky's sketches help me do just that. Here is the sketch that I was assigned

For my title "Syd" I used the Outline Alphas cut file from Just Nick, cut it out on white card stock with my Silhouette Cameo, and backed it with some patterned papers and added some mini alpha stickers as well to complete my title.

I also added some machine stitching with red thread to add some interest.

I hope you enjoyed your visit and I want to thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a great day!

Wonderful Memories

Hello friends! Happy New Year! Today I am sharing my very first layout for 2017 for both Just Nick Digital Cut Files using the Word 3 cut files for my title

and also a flair button from the Good Dog flair set from A Flair For Buttons.

Here is the layout I created of my son and my puppy Syd.

For this layout, I wanted to document when my family added Syd, a male Golden Retriever puppy to our home.  My son is holding him for the car ride home.  Syd was a ball of fluff.  I love these candid photos of my son.  He is not cooperative about getting photos taken so I was so happy to capture these.

The words "wonderful" and "memories" from the Word 3 cut file set are both cut out with my Silhouette Cameo and some paper from the Doodlebug Designs Puppy Love Collection.

The flair button "woof" was placed where the three photos meet to direct the eye around the photos.

Cut files and flair, my two favorite things in scrapbooking other than paper.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out Just Nick Digital Cut Files for all your cut file needs and flair from A Flair For Buttons!

Have a great day!

Just Nick/Simple Stories Team Up - A Perfect Autumn Day

Hello friends! Today I am excited to share my layout that I created for the Just Nick/Simple Stories Team Up that is happening now until October 22.

I was given the Hello Fall collection by Simple Stories and I thought it would be perfect to scrap this photo of my puppy Syd and his first autumn with us.

I wanted to create a lot of depth and dimension to this Fall layout, so I arrange the leaves from the Leaves 3 cut file in Silhouette Studio and cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo and then I added some thin strips of foam adhesive to the backside of the brown wood grain paper and then cut some different colors of papers from the collection and stuck them on to the foam adhesive strips.  I just love the depth it gives the layout.

After matting the photo on the plaid paper,  I fussy cut a leaf, the "I heart you" hexagon and the Hello Fall sticker and created a cluster on the top right hand corner of the photo.  I fussy cut the title from a project life card in the collection and also popped it up with foam strips and then cut out the "nuts about you" and also made a little banner out of the graph paper and then I added some acorn stickers to it and popped up the "nuts about you" phrase.  Finally I added a strip of the plaid paper to the bottom of the layout and added my pup's name and date with a black fine line pen.

Well there you have it. I hope you enjoyed your visit and I always welcome comments and questions  from my blog followers.

Be sure and check out the Just Nick shop for all your cut file needs.  There are four new cut files every week and one free cut file a month.

My Paper House Favorite Products Feature

Hello friends! It's Lee-Anne here today with another layout that I have created for Paper House Productions.

For the next two weeks the designers are sharing their favorite products feature and for me personally, I absolutely love the Autumn Woods Collection.  Such a gorgeous collection with beautiful autumn colors.  I knew that I wanted to scrap my new puppy Syd.

Let's Escape To The Woods Layout Supply List
I began the layout by adding distress inks onto the white cardstock background by pouncing the ink pads onto a splat mat and adding some water to each distress ink color with a water pen.  Place your white cardstock onto the inked and watered splat mat and smoosh around.  Let dry.

I fussy cut the "Let's Escape To The Woods" and all the leaves and added them to the dry inked background with some foam dimensional squares to add some layering and dimension.

I also added some paper strips to the bottom of the layout and also a floral border sticker and then added my journaling with the black pen.

Puffy stickers simply add even more dimension and interest so I added a fox,  flower, leaf,  arrow, branch and "explore" puffy stickers.

I really love the rich autumn colors from this collection from Paper House Productions.  Be sure and check out the Autumn Woods Collection and all the other gorgeous products at Paper House Productions.

Thanks for visiting!

Practical Scrappers Ten Things - Hearts

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and the challenge today is to use a heart punch in different ways.  I don't have a heart punch so I got my trusted Silhouette Cameo ready and created a heart stencil.  I then used my distress inks and mists and created the background on the white card stock.

I also stamped on some of the cut out hearts, placed some feathers and twine and did a little machine stitching.

I used the Devoted Collection from Carta Bella.  I love grey, pink and aqua together.  It is a refreshing change from the typical colours that are usually associated with Valentine's Day.

Come see what my Practical Scrappers Ten Things teammates came up with using a heart punch here.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will look at heart punches in a totally new way.
