You Are My Anchor Layout (A Flair For Buttons)

Hello friends!  Today I'm excited to share my first layout as a new design team member at  A Flair For Buttons.

I wanted to create a masculine layout of my husband but also keep it fun with some nautical accents to support the die cut title that I cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  I created this with October Afternoon's Treasure Map Collection of patterned papers and stickers.  I added some background stamping with a rubber stamp from Creative Embellishments and some sewing machine stitching.

The flair buttons I created this layout with are from these three different sets:

All these flair and many more are available in the store:

A Valentine Layout To Share...

Happy Sunday!  Today I am sharing a layout I created just because I wanted to create.  This layout was a labour of love of my husband and I.  He is so good to me and I haven't met anyone as patient and as supportive as he is.  He works very hard and he totally supports my scrapbooking addiction.  I don't want to get too mushy, but he is my rock and I created this layout for him.

The Good Life
Fancy Pants Designs "The Good Life" Collection
American Crafts Cardstock
American Crafts Flair Adhesive Badges
Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Festive Berries, Black Soot, Mustard Seed)
Wood Rubber Stamps (Hampton Arts)
Adhesive (3L Adhesives, Scotch)
Corrugated White Flute Tiles (Canvas Corp)
Circle Punch (Marvy Uchida)
Pen (Marvy Uchida)
Silhouette Cameo

Close ups of the hearts I stamped with distress inks and cut out of white card stock and outlined with a pen

I used my Silhouette Cameo to create a heart background and patiently used my small circle punch to cut out different patterned papers and adhered them to the underside of the background.  I then outlined them with a black pen

I used a white corrugated photo mat to give some dimension

I used some mini letter stickers and a diecut for the title

I cut out the bicycle and used some flair buttons from American Crafts

The collection I used was Fancy Pants "The Good Life" Collection.  I love the pops of red, black, yellow and pale blue against the white background.  I thought it would make it not so girly for a Valentine's Day layout.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and do something that you love to do today.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #316

Today it is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada.  It is a statutory holiday here so I am busy preparing our traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings and gathering with my family.  I am so thankful for so many things and I thank God for all the blessings.  One of the things I am truly thankful for is my husband and wanted to scrapbook a layout on him.  This is for today's Sketch #316 at Scrapbook Challenges.

Above All Else Be Original, Be You
I recently purchased this collection by Authentique named Original
and I love it!  It's great for masculine pages.

Here are the sketches that inspired me and I hope they inspire you as well:

Have a great day and thanks to all my followers of my blog.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #290

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  It was great to celebrate and have a turkey dinner and all the trimmings.  I never get tired of turkey and think I could eat chicken and turkey every day, but my husband prefers beef so I try to cook beef once a week.  As I am following Weight Watchers, I tried to lighten up all my trimmings and still make it tasty.  With just a little planning, it really did work!  So far I have lost 16 pounds and I thought as I was putting the turkey in the oven to roast, that it was ironic that the turkey weighed 16 pounds.  So I look at it as I have lost a turkey so far in this weight loss journey.  Hahaha!   I still have about 3 more turkeys to lose and the doctor will be happy!

Anyway, on to the subject of scrapbooking....it's Monday and that means that Scrapbook Challenges has posted a new sketch to check out.  I really enjoyed working with this sketch.  I think it came together quite well and I like the negative space.

It was a layout on my husband and son when we went to the Scirocco Golf Club for a  Father's Day dinner last year.  I used the Happy Days collection by Echo Park.  I love the retro feel of these papers.

I hope you can play along with us.  Here are the  sketches:

and

They are some interesting sketches designed by our design team.  I love the originality!

Have a great day!
