Dad Layout

Hello friends!  Happy Wednesday!  Today is Wild Wednesday at Scrapbooker's Paradise with a  masculine layout of my dad.

This collection from Kaisercraft called the Garage Days Collection was a perfect match for my dad because in his working days he owned a tire shop and when I saw this collection, I had to scrap a layout with it.

I used lots of goodies on this layout and they all can be found in the Scrapbooker's Paradise Online Store here so please head on over and happy shopping!

Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbook Challenges - Back To School Music Class

For the month of September, Scrapbook Challenges is having some fun "Back To School" challenges.  My challenge was "Music Class."  I came up with the challenge to use the song "Walk" from the Foo Fighters, which happens to be one of my favourite rock bands,  to create a layout.  Here is my layout:

Walk

This layout is of my son and husband on our vacation last summer.  I used a scoring and inking technique on my background and the Camp A Lot collection from Bo Bunny.  So now to get you rocking and rolling it's time to check out the video "Walk" by Foo Fighters:

Now it's your turn to play along with us at Scrapbook Challenges. Upload your layout with either the title "Walk" on your layout or a lyric from the song, or whatever the word or song walk means to you.  Come play along and upload your layout to the  Back To School forum thread "Music Class" at  Scrapbook Challenges.  I would love to see what you create but most of all have fun!

While your at it come check out some of the other Back To School challenges such as Geometry, Science and History and see what the other team members have come up with.

Have fun creating!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #290

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter.  It was great to celebrate and have a turkey dinner and all the trimmings.  I never get tired of turkey and think I could eat chicken and turkey every day, but my husband prefers beef so I try to cook beef once a week.  As I am following Weight Watchers, I tried to lighten up all my trimmings and still make it tasty.  With just a little planning, it really did work!  So far I have lost 16 pounds and I thought as I was putting the turkey in the oven to roast, that it was ironic that the turkey weighed 16 pounds.  So I look at it as I have lost a turkey so far in this weight loss journey.  Hahaha!   I still have about 3 more turkeys to lose and the doctor will be happy!

Anyway, on to the subject of scrapbooking....it's Monday and that means that Scrapbook Challenges has posted a new sketch to check out.  I really enjoyed working with this sketch.  I think it came together quite well and I like the negative space.

It was a layout on my husband and son when we went to the Scirocco Golf Club for a  Father's Day dinner last year.  I used the Happy Days collection by Echo Park.  I love the retro feel of these papers.

I hope you can play along with us.  Here are the  sketches:

and

Sketch #290 Double Page Layout

They are some interesting sketches designed by our design team.  I love the originality!

Have a great day!
