You Are My Anchor Layout (A Flair For Buttons)

Hello friends!  Today I'm excited to share my first layout as a new design team member at  A Flair For Buttons.

I wanted to create a masculine layout of my husband but also keep it fun with some nautical accents to support the die cut title that I cut on my Silhouette Cameo.  I created this with October Afternoon's Treasure Map Collection of patterned papers and stickers.  I added some background stamping with a rubber stamp from Creative Embellishments and some sewing machine stitching.

The flair buttons I created this layout with are from these three different sets:

Also, don't forget you can save 15% off your entire order from now until Monday, May 4 by adding the coupon code NSD2015 when you checkout.

Creative Embellishments February Challenge

Hello friends! Today is the first day of February and that means that there is a new challenge at Creative Embellishments.  For the February Challenge, the challenge is to create a layout, mini album, tag, card, or canvas and to add an ombre/gradient effect to some chipboard using the photo below for inspiration.

This is the layout I created for the challenge.  Hanna is such a sweetie. Children look so sweet when they sleep don't they?

You Are My Happy by Lee-Anne Thornton (photo by Rockwood Photography)
For my background I used a stencil and some modelling paste and sprayed some mists and stamped the background with the Circles Stamp from Creative Embellishments.  I also painted the Hot Air Balloon chipboard with a light pink acrylic paint and then added a darker pink over the top half to give it the ombre/gradient effect.  I did the same for the Valentine's Hashtags xoxo chipboard word.

The wood veneer Hearts were randomly placed around the layout.

Adding some tags that I altered with some pennant stickers and some splats of paint add more interest and because I am loving the gold trend, I added a gold doily and some vellum paper with tiny gold hearts.

I encourage you to play along with at Creative Embellishments and link up your layout for the February Challenge for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate from Creative Embellishments.  There is an entire month to link up your entry.  As you know, Creative Embellishments has some wonderful chipboard, wood veneers, flair and stamps that are sure to make you giddy and not break your budget.  Check out all the details and play along here. Thanks for stopping by!

'Tis The Season Layout

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a Christmas layout for Creative Embellishments that I created of my two older kiddos when they were little.  They are grown up now but I smile when I look at this photo of my son with his face painted and my daughter and son sitting on Santa’s lap at a company Christmas party.

For this layout, I used the Creative Embellishments Snowflake Rubber Stamp and also the Grid Rubber Stamp  on the kraft card stock background and heat embossed it with some white embossing powder.  I then used white, green and red embossing powder and heat embossed the Wood Veneer SnowflakesChristmas Train and  Christmas Bulb. Next, I matted my photo and added papers and ephemera and  as well as a bow, doily and sewing machine stitching.  Finally, I added some journaling strips that I created on the computer, printed them out and outlined them in black pen and adhered them to some patterned paper.

I used the Merry & Bright Collection by Pink Paislee for the papers and ephemera and also some flair from A Flair For Buttons.
I hope I have inspired you to create a festive, holiday layout.  There are so many Christmas items in the Creative Embellishments shop. Thanks for stopping by!
