Sharing A Graphic 45 French Country Layout

Happy Tuesday!

Today I am sharing a layout on my beautiful family.  I love Graphic 45 and probably have every collection that has come out in the past but when it comes time to scrap with it, I tend to freeze up.  It is such beautiful paper and I hoard it because I want to save it for special occasions.  The French Country Collection would be great for my kitchen as I love sunflowers and roosters, but decided to use some of the papers to create a layout of my family because family always are a special occasion.

I created the sunflower with a design from Silhouette America on my Silhouette Cameo.  I love all the detail to this design.

The title is cut from  the Silhouette Cameo.

I also used some cute vintage camera wood veneer shapes to add some interest.  One can never have too many embellishments can they?

Finally I added some sheer black ribbon to give more dimension and texture.

Thanks for stopping by.  I always welcome comments.

Have a wonderful day!

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #330

Happy Monday.  I know it's Monday but one thing that will make your Monday a little better is a new sketch to get your creativity kickstarted.

Scrapbook Challenges Sketch #330

Don't you just love those tags?

For my layout I chose the Graphic 45 "Birdsong" Collection as I thought it was perfect to the capture the feel of the Japanese Garden at Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada last summer.  I loved it there.  It was so perfect and calming.  My husband loved it there too.

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut the pagodas, the tree, the fan and the word "harmony" in Japanese.  I then heat embossed them all to give them some more colour and dimension.

Come see what the entire Sketch Crew created with the sketch at Scrapbook Challenges.

Thanks for visiting my blog.  I really appreciate it and always love to hear from you so don't be afraid to comment.  Yes I know, those darn codes that you have to put in to write a comment, but I have disabled that so you can just leave a comment without all that.  It's so nice to hear from you. Happy Monday and I hope I helped you to get scrappy.

Practical Scrappers Design Team Sketch For January 2013

I am so humbled to be a part of the Practical Scrappers Design Team and this is the team's first sketch reveal for 2013.  The sketch was designed by Practical Scrappers own Liz Chidester.  Isn't she talented?

Here is my take on this sketch.  I chose to scrap a Christmas layout of my parents when they came for dinner on this past Christmas Eve.

I used the Nutcracker Sweet Collection by Graphic 45 and my Silhouette Cameo to cut the paper lace, and other die cuts.

Come see what the rest of the team created here.

Thanks for stopping by and have fun with the sketch!

Scrapbook Challenges 12 Days Of Challenges

All December long at Scrapbook Challenges we are celebrating the season by bringing you the Twelve Days Of Challenges.

Today, my challenge is up and it's the Eighth Day Of Challenges.  My challenge is to create an oval shape on a layout.

Grandparents Are The Best

I used my Silhouette Cameo to create an oval photo mat and cut it twice and layered it with dimensional adhesive and then cut some oval shapes and used them for my title and date as well as embellishments.

This layout was made with Graphic 45 The Ladies' Diary Collection and it's for my son's album of my parents (his grandparents).  I thought the vintage paper would be appropriate for this layout.

I hope this has inspired you to create a layout with the oval shape.  Come play along at Scrapbook Challenges all month.  If you need a little inspiration check out all the Twelve Days Of Challenges here.

Starting in January, we are going to have some exciting changes so keep checking back.

Have a great Saturday!

Love Le Cirque

Graphic 45 is my latest obsession and I am loving the vintage look right now.  This layout of my daughter was created with the Le Cirque collection.

I distressed and inked the edges with Vintage Photo (Tim Holtz Distress Ink).  I layered the photo and inked the edges of three doilies (Little Yellow Bicycle).  I then used some vintage buttons (Jenni Bowlin) and adhered some black pearls (Prima) and finished the layout with a black flower (Petaloo) and some paper roses (Prima).

Thanks for stopping by and have a beautiful day!

Another Graphic 45 Layout...

This one is of my husband.  It was taken last year and I thought that the "Le Cirque" Collection by Graphic 45 would be perfect for it.

Graphic 45, I think we may have a love affair happening, but don't tell my husband.  He he he!

Have a scrap happy day!

Graphic 45 - First Layout

I wanted to share a layout I did last week while I was away in Fort McMurray.  This one is of my son and I  this summer.

Graphic 45 Le Cirque Collection, Prima flower, Jenni Bowlin (Vintage Buttons), Cosmo Cricket (Red Letter Stickers) Graphic 45 ("Curtain Call" letter sticker), Maya Road (Journal Die Cut),  twine,  Tim Holtz Distress Inks (Black Soot, and Vintage)

I used the Graphic 45 Le Cirque collection.  This is the first time I have ever tried Graphic 45 as I have always felt that it was out of my comfort zone.  It was fun!  I think I will have to try some more as I love their papers.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!
