Hello friends! Today I wanted to share a layout I created for Creative Embellishments using five different items from the store. I created a layout for my friend that lives on a ranch and is in the midst of calving season. This little calf was in deep snow and needed to be rescued. I just love calves, or any baby animal for that matter, don't you?
I added some white gesso to the background paper (the papers are from the We R Memory Keepers Indian Summer Collection) so it would tone the chevron print down so the photo would be more visible. I used the chipboard Rustic Shed Door, Barbed Wire Border, Social Hash Tags word #cute and also the Chicken Wire Panel. I painted the chipboard in white gesso and let it dry and then added some Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and Distress Stain to give it the weathered look.
Before I added the photo, I stamped with the Distressed Chicken Wire Stamp around the photo to give it some more texture.
Thanks for stopping by and be sure and stop by the Creative Embellishments store and blog to see lots more goodies and inspiration from the entire team.

December Challenge At Creative Embellishments
Hello friends! Can you believe it's December? Time goes by so fast and it is now the last month of the year. I know it's going to be busy with holiday preparations this month, but hope that you can take some time out of your busy schedule and take some time to join the December Challenge. Below is the photo for the December Challenge.
I was inspired by the Christmas tree, the fireplace and the colours. Here is what I came up with:
I used several items from the Creative Embellishments store such as the Grid Background Stamp and the Snowflake Background Stamp on the white card stock background, the chipboard Flourish Tree 2, the wood veneers Snowflakes and the chipboard White Christmas Title. I heat embossed the tree, the snowflakes and the title. I really think this layout looks better in person. It shows the sparkle and texture. For the sketch, I was inspired by a sketch of Laura Whitaker.
There are great prizes for this challenge so why don't you take some time out of your busy month and take a break from the hustle bustle and participate in this challenge. You could win a $25 Gift Certificate from Creative Embellishments. All the details are here.
Check it out. Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Friends Are The Family We Choose Card
Hello friends! Happy Thursday! Today I am up at Susan K. Weckesser and I wanted to share an extra special card I created with Susan K. Weckesser's amazing stamps and papers to give to a dear friend of mine.
I just LOVE The Happy Homestead Stamps.
I am happy how this came together. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a card for a friend. Have a great day!
Supplies
Cardstock - American Crafts (White)
Letter Stickers - Tim Holtz
Patterned Papers - Live In Color Paper Collection by Susan K. Weckesser
Rubber Stamp - The Happy Homestead by Susan K. Weckesser & Unity Stamp Co.
Sequins - Teresa Collins
Sprays - Heidi Swapp Colorshine (Primrose, Mint Green, Black Velvet, White)
Stamp Ink - Archival Ink By Ranger (Black)
I just LOVE The Happy Homestead Stamps.
I first stamped the house stamp with black archival ink onto white card stock and then "painted" it with some mists to coordinate with Susan's Live In Color Collection of patterned papers.
After it was colored and stamped, I popped it up on the card with some pop dots. I then stamped the word "family" onto white card stock, cut the letters out separately and adhered it to the card. I fussy cut the sun and adhered some yellow twine and placed a large sequin in the center of the twine and adhered it to the card.
Right now I am loving the sequin trend so I wanted to give a little more texture and dimension to the house roof so I adhered some pink sequins to the roof.
Finally I fussy cut a cloud, flowers, grass and a bird out of the Live In Color Collection of patterned papers and adhered them to the card and used some tiny letter stickers to finish the title.
I am happy how this came together. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired to create a card for a friend. Have a great day!

Doily Note Card
![]() |
Left To Right: Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punch With Insert A, Kreaxions Circle Cutter and Kreaxions Star Template |
- First I stamped my kraft card stock card with white pigment ink and a polka dot stamp.
- Next, I used the Star Template to trace out my doily on white card stock and punched all the way around with the Kreaxions Punch #309 with the Insert A.
- I trimmed off the loose edges and then used my Kreaxions Circle Punch to cut a 3 1/2 inch circle of black glitter card stock and mounted the white doily over the black card stock circle.
- I then tied a silver bow and adhered a red sequin to the center of the bow and then added silver sequins around the doily and also cut out a border of white card stock and again mounted it over the glitter card stock and trimmed it and adhered it behind the doily.
I hope that you enjoyed your visit and are inspired to try a card.
The Kreaxions 4 In 1 Punches, Circle Cutter, and Star Template can all be purchased in the Just Imagine Crafts online store here.

Practical Scrappers - 10 Things Watercolours
Hello friends!
Today at Practical Scrappers we are sharing a few ideas on using watercolour techniques on your projects.
I chose to create a layout honouring my mom.
I created a watercolour effect with my Faber Castell Gelatos and an acrylic stamp for the flowers at the bottom of the layout. The stamp is coloured with various colours of gelatos and then lightly misted with water and then stamped on the card stock.
Here are some other photos of my layout. I misted the "you & me tag" and the "mother" diecut title. I love Heidi Swapp Color Shine Mists. They are such pretty colours and I love the pretty shine they have.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good day!
